You seem to be doing ok considering your diagnoses. I was recently diagnosed with an rare autoimmuned disorder called pemphigus vulgaris. This disease affects less than 1% of the population. It's not a disabling disease, just some mouth ulcers, loss of 50+ pounds, loss of strength and coordination. Worst U can do is lie in bed and let it take over you. Just like I have some days I feel I'm getting better and next day feel like crap. Happy to say, I'm back in the gym and recovering well, so far.
I haven't looked through all your vids, but... I've had a "flu", that lasted 2 days. I had POTS, unknown, that lasted a month, couldn't hold down solid food, lived off of snapple meal in a bottle just hoping some of the nutrients would absorb before I threw it up. I lost 25lbs, I went to the hospital cause I didn't have another 25 to lose. I had to take care of it myself w/o insurance. For years. Only recently when my ankles swelled to grapefruit I got a POTS diagnosis... good luck...
I just now saw this video, i know it is from like a year ago, but its crazy because that is exactly what is going on with me right now! I've had POTS for 2 years, and recently i caught a stomach bug, which i stayed home a couple days from school for, but it quickly turned into weeks because i've been so incrediably tired and nauseated and dizzy! They just tested for mono yesterday. I'm so worried about having to switch to homebound!
Hi, I had the nausea, loss of appetite, and severe stomach cramps as my first sign of dysautonomia. An upper endoscopy revealed gastroparesis. This is when the stomach stops contracting and food sits in it causing nausea. Reglan is the treatment if you can tolerate it. I hope it is not GP, but know that it is common with dysautonomia.
Thanks for the reply Heather...I had an upper endoscopy back in 2005 and it came back fine other than some acid reflux...who knows if it would now though lol!
Can I ask you some questions about your pains.... Like you said you have back pain. Where is it located, because I am also suffering with back pain and nausia, and I don't leave the house much at all, and I have Fibromyalgia.
hi there! my back pain then was in my lower back, but have been having lots in my neck and upper back/back of head lately. along with stiffness. i have no idea what it could be!
3 Celsius is 37 Fahrenheit, lol. I hope you start to feel better soon. Did I ever tell you that I had mono for six months and got it right after my 19th birthday. Likely random, but I've been there!
It's been same exact weather here for me. Nonstop rain and 35-40 degree weather. I've been feeling pretty decent though...hooray!
Feel better and don't go too crazay! It's easier for me to say because I have a million hobbies....
Ahhhh don't you HATE this kind of weather?! lol. SO annoying. Mono for six months is probably some kind of record hahaha. And yes I don't have like 949379 hobbies like SOME people...lol. Glad to hear you're feeling well!
Oh, but then I took a nap this afternoon (I sleep from midnight to 6 or 7 am these days and then end up tired around 3-4pm) and then felt hideous....ish until I got rehydrated!
Did you get a text pic on your phone of an interesting weatherman by any chance?
LMAO WAS THAT YOU?!??!? I was like .....who is this? i saw that and was like a long distance number so i thought it was just like an accidental text or something. hahahahha. oh man that makes my day.
aww, feel better darling! I don't have an illness on top of my POTS right now, but i've been really crashing myself. Hang in there, and we'll all get through these tough fall months together.
Shannon, I'm from Italy and really sorry for you. I hope you'll get well very soon.
You're a fantastic and strong girl, and I watch your videos all the time.
Here the fall sucks too, It has been raining for, I think, 4 days or so, and the temperature is very low here too, but not as there in Canada. (I think now here it's 10°C)
About the hobbies (I love the photos!), why don't you try to play some Videogame? I know that's it's not like going outside, but I think it could be fun to do..
Ahhhh yes rain DOES suck! haha! But that is pretty sweet that it's still about 10 C. I've actually TRIED to get into video games but i just get bored of them haha. right now i've just been watching tons of movies and series :)
Anyway, I am so sorry you are feeling so badly! I really, really hope all this stuff goes away soon :( And I'm sorry you had to drop your college classes, too, I know how frustrating that is. I agree with Kylie, though, definitely be proud of yourself for as much as you have done and staying strong - no one realizes how difficult it is for us POTsies to deal with everything we have thrown at us!
Thank you so much! and yes the stomach pain I had was actually ALOT like a burning feeling! It was SO painful though i was about to go to the ER again. But i've already been twice during the past 2 weeks so i waited and luckily it subsided. I'm also wondering if maybe it could be POTS related? i know there are just SO many different symptoms so i'm sure it's a possibility. anyways i hope you're feeling better too! xxo!
weeks after and my stomach was in incredible pain...it felt like it was being eaten by acid or being twisted around or something...does that sound at all like the pain you're having? Anyway, I got lots of testing, like you, but they never found anything. Ultrasound, gastric emptying test, etc. I still get the stomach pain sometimes, though, and like you said it has me in tears. I also have nausea, but it comes and goes and lasts like a week. Now I wonder if it is a POTS thing! I
Wow, I completely understand everything you are saying - I think I have dealt with the exact same stomach problems you are talking about! This makes me wonder if it is POTS related...I am always nauseous, like you, but one day I was just so sick I was vomiting every ten minutes or less for over 20 hours, and couldn't even drink the smallest bit of water. I went to the hospital and they gave me anti nausea medications, which stopped the vomiting but I still felt horrible - I was so nauseous for
What is it with our luck! ha! Congrats on being able to go to the grocery store! I was able to go to the store for like 10 mins this week too! haha. highlight of my week! Definitely don't stress too much if you have to drop your classes! If there's one this i've learned from all this it's to NOT stress yourself out more than you need too! That definitely makes me worse so for me the decision wasn't TOO hard. AND I can't wait for our channel either! lol! yayyy! i'm so excited! lol.
Also DEFINITELY cut it if you're thinking about it! It's a big change, but sometimes that's fun! haha! i'm glad i did it :) hope you're feeling better hun and i'm praying for you too! xxox
Shannon, I felt like I was listening to myself talk! We are not having a good month! I haven't left the house much either. I managed to go grocery shopping today somehow, some way.I'm so sorry to hear you're so nauseous. That happens to me from time to time, and I know how awful it is to force yourself to eat. Make sure you do though! (hugs)
I'm wondering if I should drop my classes too. I've been thinking about it all day. So frustrating. You will get better though & just give yourself-

so much credit for working as hard as you have.
We'll both get there. I think it's just a bad time for everybody, really.
I'm thinking and praying for you! I can't wait for our channel! So exciting! I've been filming clips here & there for it.
I'll talk to you soon!
Ps- Your hair looks GREAT!! It encourages me to finally cut mine shorter - it's breaking and thinning anyway, ugh!
