That's why there is a minimum age on YouTube of 13. Of course, many predators just hack into unsecured networks, so it wouldn't be the child's fault there. Some children are reckless with Facebook and MySpace and give out every single bit of info they can think of. I don't use Facebook because I don't want predators to see pictures of me. I stick w/ YouTube.

Not every child is an idiot. Instead of stopping children from socializing on the internet or using a parental blocker that lets them know you don't trust them, parents should teach their kids what's right and wrong. That stands for pretty much everything.

There are bad people in the real world, too. Don't think of something as evil just because it's new.

Lol i agree with meshugar to the utmost degree. I also agree with ApparitionZ. The cases of online predators have been falling. Plus, whats wrong with fucking with children? Maybe if a kid or two got raped/cut up/murdered, theyd stop posting their bullshit all over the internet forums. I'm not saying I want it to happen, but if the kids asking for it, then they should get it.

Hundreds and hundreds of children have been raped/cut up/murdered. Hundreds of thousands, probably. And do they stop posting stuff on forums? Of course not. Kids don't have a collective awareness. And victims are never "asking for it," regardless of age or sex or what stupid stuff they do online.

If a predator or two got put on death row, would they stop trying to hurt kids? If a troll or two got their computers fried, would the rest of them stop trolling? Obviously not.

Maybe your heart is in the right place, but seriously you may as well do instructional videos for other shit that EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS like, you could do one on driving, and you could be all like "Now remember that the road is a very dangerous place and you can't just go driving into oncoming traffic.. something very bad could happen!!!! There are so many dangers on the road.... in fact... just stay inside... it's not worth it. There's probably a pitbull with AIDS waiting to maul you outside."

The gun made it quicker and easier to kill INDEED, but one still has to be a total FUCKHEAD to do that.

It is my humble opinion that the people on sites like youtube, facebook, myspace are just like people in real life (obviously, they are one and the same - the internet is a part of real life, like a telephone), and just like real life, 99.99% are there for the right reasons, and want to do good to others as they want others to do good to them. You just get an occasional idiot. Big deal.

It's like the issue of gun control. Fact is, people have always been violent & brutal animals... you can take away their guns, but people will find new and ingenious ways to kill, rape, and torture their fellow man, regardless. The GUN did not give them the ability to kill. Their own depravity, lack of morals, mental illness, gives them the ability to commit the grossest acts, no matter what form they take - murder of the self, murder of an innocent child, cruelty to animals, arson, rape, etc.

The VAST majority of child abuse happens within families. The best way to protect CHILDREN is to monitor and restrict CHILDREN. They are valuable, and also for a time vulnerable and they need protection. If I have some gold, I don't demand that everyone chop their hands off so they can't steal it, I put it in a safe where no-one can get to it. You can take away the internet altogether and it won't change anything. The issue is not THE INTERNET. The issue is CHILD ABUSE. Discern the difference?
