Those dogs have to wear muzzles for everyones safety including their own. The ones here were humane muzzles. The dog would rather get out with a muzzle and get the chance to be a balanced and socalized etc. than to be tied up/locked up and alone it's whole life. They get used to wearing them and just by watching the video it's obvious these people love their dogs and are smart enough to check if it was hot or whatever. Great class :)
@scoobyolivia Thank you for your comments.:))) Some people don't realize the need for muzzles at times. The instructor did check all the muzzled dogs half way through class to make sure they weren't over heating the dog. Hope your find a good trainer where you live.
I wish I was near you! What a great group of people and dogs! It's very nice for the people with non agressive dogs to let the people with the aggresive dogs learn with and from them. I love to see responsible and caring pet owners, if only everyone was hey? I adopted 6 yr old pit from a kill shelter from another country and I love him to bits but is showing agression to company so I'm trying to find a good trainer or class. Lucky bunch that get this training. I hope I find one this good =) ♥
@scoobyolivia We wish you lived near too. We'd love having you and your dog in class with us. We have a few pit bulls in our class. They are like other breeds in the sense that some are agressive, and some are submissive and others are in between. They need love like all the rest.
This is great! Thanks for uploading this! :) Pff whos german shorthaired pointer is that? Why do these types of gun dogs throw such a fit like that all the time? hahaha My weimaraner does the same shake the whole body and refuse to get up off the ground thing too! hahah
@KIBAfang90 The GSP , Dexter is Nicole's. It is not unusual for a first timer in class, especially at that age to be fidgety. Although, I think they are more high energy, like Liberty. Dexter actually did good for his first time. He had to deal with some aggressive dogs there which is part of learning to deal with life's problems. You and Liberty take care. TY
hahaha no i think its more of the gundog thing. You dont usualy see german shepherds shake their whole body and have a "hissy fit" the way the gun dogs do! hahaha even liberty does it. Like when i make her do something she doesnt want to do! Like stand still on the table at the vets! hahaha.
And they did GREAT for the 1st time1 Wow! Maybe i could come next time? :)
@KIBAfang90 Yes, German shorthaired pointer=GSP that is what I meant. You & Liberty would have a good time training with us if you came. But she's already trained.
Wellshe is that well trained. Any dog could use more training. And as you know youer never done training because you could always do more things with your dog. Liberty doesnt feel comfortable waiting around other dogs. I need to work on that a lot.
@mydogstube If you think that was good, you should have seen what I wasn't able to get videoed. They were marching 2 by 2 from one end of the field to the other to their owners. They then raised their right paws to their forehead and saluted. I'm going to get that on video next time.
@DogWalkingTall Let me add these are worn only during a 45min. class. And they usually don't have to wear them for too many classes. I hope this eases your mind. Yes, being gentle is part of the training. And I can see Willie & Jesse don't have these kind of problems. Always enjoy discussing with you.
@DogWalkingTall Rob, we appreciate your concern. The class is held in the morning before it gets too hot. It was not as warm with the overcast & the instructor stopped in the middle of class, went up to these dogs & checked the muzzles, the fit & the comfort. During the filming these 2 did get into minor skirmishes with some of the other dogs. The instructors lecture us about the dangers of over heated dogs. I don't see any problem with the muzzles taking all this into consideration. TY
Everyone of those dogs is doing excellent! Especially the grey one... is that a purebred poodle? And it's so exciting to see a GSP there! I don't ever see them anywhere. Great work. Keep up the training. Looking forward to your next video.
@tuckerthegsp The only gray one there was our Suzy, a bearded collie with a shave causing her to appear to be a poodle. Also, she was the only one in a line that was laying down instead of sitting, due to my husband's inability to listen to the instructors request to have their dogs sit. We keep trying. Also, Chris, the trainer has a GSP.
