  • Loudest electronic siren ever made i love EOWS

  • Never heard an electronic siren that sounded so much like a pneumatic! I'm impressed.

  • @model2siren

    You said tbolts twice.

  • TURNNNNN ITTTTTTTT DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNN!!! XD

  • 812's are very loud geez!!!

  • Crazy loud siren. I wonder what's with the streetlight. It's fading in and out. Must be an old bulb or something.

  • looks like the drivers or tone generators are failing. sounds a bit sick...

  • @cheetawolf Wouldn't be the drivers, they usually don't change the pitch. Sounds like the sound card is going inside. Maybe water got in or the amp/sound card is getting old :( But these EOWS are some of the best out there, this should most certainly be fixed ASAP

  • was this shot during a warning? skies looked black

  • that is so cool

  • Has this siren been fixed or replaced?

  • Rare 812 .

  • It's slow.

  • sounds alittle off for some reason...

  • @Schutzraumtechnik999 i agree.

  • Great Video of that EOWS 812!

  • they need some more sirens and new ones that sound better

  • Do you know what street the EOWS 812 is in Burrton Kansas:)

  • Man the drivers on that beast are sick..

  • @VMFA115Starloric Yeah, someone better fix that!!

  • whats up with the street light?

  • I Checked this out in google maps and this siren is still there! :-D

  • o wow at my school we are 40 yrds from a omni alert cant hear it on test day its very sad

  • thats a 812. I have never seen one before. There really loud to,

  • Most rare electronic siren!!!!!

  • Dude that sucks you got an 812 those r insanly loud (awsome video)

  • :O It's an 812! I've never seen one working before...

kinda sounds like it needs a nice tune up...

  • Most likely damage to the sound card.

  • Talk about cutting into your brain...that thing is so screechy, no wonder people get right into their basements/storm shelters! I sure wouldn't hang around to hear this siren carry on either!

  • this thing needs to be replaced. sounds terrible

  • thats our siren! and i am from burrton!!!

  • i thought they also had a model 5 siren

  • lol i live there right now :p

  • Uh oh time to fix that!

  • Yup, Federal Signal EOWS, last of a dying breed

  • THat's Not a 612, The 612 Has Six driver Cells, This one has Eight. This one is the EOWS*812, Also known as the 816 Because of 1600 Watts that it Sucks down. And it sounds like it needs a couple of driver cells. It's not producig it's full tone like it's supposed to produce. Do it's Taken it's tool and may be replaced... =S That would be sad, A woring siren, Replaced by another, That would Reek, I would Keep it up, and order the driver cells it needs.

  • Nah, drivers are fine but the sound card is about dead.

  • E - E - EOWS... 816?!?!

Sounds like age has taken its toll on it too. :<

  • old siren. does anyone notice the street lamp dipping in and out?

  • its the power use of the siren the eows-816 uses masive power

  • It's Because of CAPACITOR leakage due to time and temp change season to season.

  • Not so much. It only uses 120V, pulling only a few amps. All the mains power has to do is keep the batteries charged, since the EOWS is a DC-only siren. You could easily power this, or any other electronic siren out there, on common household power. The only thing wrong with this siren is that the tone generator is going out due to age, and the collector rings/brushes inside the head might be getting worn

  • I bet your right. That"s the most logical explenation

  • OMG, an actual EOWS* 816! First pic I've ever seen.

  • They also made EOWS 412 and 212's too.

  • they are called 408s and they did not make 204s

  • EOWS*812...RARE!

  • burrton is hickville usa. Population 932. Ha

  • EOWS !!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • lol i get the joke. dont worry

  • man this has to be a rare siren its not a EOWS 612 it has 8 speakers not 6 also i heard a ACA P-15 in the back ground also i like watching twister (random comment)

  • its an EOWS*812!!

  • Is that normal for the siren to rotate?

  • Yes lol

  • This is a unidirectional siren. They rotate because they've got only one horn so they have to rotate to warn the county of an impending twister.

  • no...sometimes they just fritz out and start attacking the city goers with crazy laser beams...sry...dont take offense to that lol...i jusy had to do it xD...but yes they rotate so the warning can be heard clearly in all directions regardless of wind...

  • @johnblessing how ecle will the sound go in all directions?

  • That's exactly like the siren sounded like in my old house in Cumming, GA. But now we're like a half-hour from there, and there are NO sirens at all. One day in March 2008, I turned on the news and it practically was pointing out our neighborhood for a tornado... it missed us by 2 miles.

  • FUCK I'M DEAF!!

  • Looks Like Age Has Taken Its Toll On This Siren

  • Sounds like the tone card needs to be replaced..your city can call up Federal Signal and get a new tone card without having to replace the whole siren.

  • Not to say anything, but the Tornado siren is turning... which can give you that sound effect.

  • Well the tone card actually is a problem, I've heard many Federal EOWS sirens, heard very few that sound like this.

  • I thought EOWS only had 6 speakers?

  • This is an EOWS but a variant of it. Federal signal doesn't manufacture this particular model anymore.

  • Its an EOWS*812 not a 612

  • The one in the video is an EOWS 812, these have 8 speakers. The 612 has 6 speakers.

  • @DragonWolf1993 you are incorrect. The 612 has 6 horns and 12 speakers. 2 speakers per horn for the A and the B picthes to create the dual tone sound. The 816 has 8 horns and 16 speakers.

  • (I'm DragonWolf1993)

Wikipedia: "EOWS 812-focused rotating siren, eight horns and 12 drivers (largest/loudest rotating variant.)"

  • @SgtSavage166 wikipedia is lieing

  • @crazywarriorman thes the 612 this is the 812

  • how come the street lamp keeps dipping in and out?

  • thats a horrible sound

  • I'm not afraid of tornados and things like other people but when those sirens go off, its hard not to feel a little paniced

  • with the way the tone wavers this siren sounds sick

  • I havent seen a 8 speaker one before, I didnt know they made these!

  • Its an EOWS 812

  • It doesn't sound right to me.

  • So this is an EOWS 812 if it has 8 speakers?

  • The number is EOWS-816. Not 812.

  • It's listed by Federal as an 812, but I would think it would make more sense as an 816 sine they also have a 4 speaker/8 driver version called the 408.

  • sirens in germany sounds much deeper as this one-all sirens in america sounds like this one?My ear is exploding

  • You should hear the ACT T-135`s in Kenosha or Other Place in WI, their T-135`s have a deep tone too.

  • not all

  • Actually there is nothing wrong with it. And it's not the only siren in Burrton. There is a Model 5 hidden in a residential area in the southwest part of town. It's on a tower just barely seven feet tall on the side of the road.

  • Sounds like it's dieing.

  • this also predates the 1212.

  • wat about the 408

  • the rotator is slow on it.

  • thats an old sirtatone 816

  • An EOWS 612 with 8 horns, weird.

  • no, its a 816

  • Actually he's right, it's listed as a "SiraTone Model EOWS*812" in the manual. However, if you were to go by total output for the model #, 816 would be right (8 speakers, 1600W), but for some reason Federal listed it as the "812".

  • @carexpertandy no, just a 812

  • is this still a siratone? I know it's a dumb question.

  • Flamingopink86, yes.

  • Thanx.

  • Does this have ten speakers or horns?

  • no, 8 speakers

  • I counted wrong then, it looked like 10 when I first saw the video.

  • Ok I looked again and again, maybe it's the cloudy weather fooling me because it did look like 10 when I first saw it, it is indeed 8 because the other models have 6

  • sweet vid sounds like a siratone alright 1st 816 i've seen on here almost the same as the 612 just 2 extra speakers

  • no the siratone 612 (6)(12) (6)= horns (12)= speaker driver 2 speaker drivers per horn. i guess it just has more horns

  • I was Across the street from it

  • @tdhooge did this get replaced or fixed because, the drivers(or at least one) is shot.

  • Very loud!

  • I agree with everyone! Great video if the SiraTone!

  • Awesome video. This has to be the first 812 siren on YouTube. Great recording too.

  • Wait I messed up. Its actually called "EOWS-816." Because these sirens have 1600 watts not 1200 watts. The 1200 watts are on the "EOWS-612s".

  • Great job finding and recording this rare siren with 132dB sound output!

  • never seen one of those, never knew they even existed

  • Cool, an 812, sounds like it needs some work though.

  • yes it did sound like it needed work LOL

  • @tdhooge did someone fix the drivers?

  • was that a test or the real deal

  • This was a weekly test, which is done every monday at 10am.

  • @yovoho11 what do you think?

  • That thing is huge! I've seen the 6 horned EOWS (612) but not the 812.

  • Wow! The first official video of a SiraTone 812.

  • Awesome video!

  • sorry it is a poor video everyone

  • The audio is good enough for me. :)

  • it wasnt too bad
