@Polybun LMAO! Wow, you're a super-genius! I definitely could have used both of those on my old point-and-shoot Cybershot camera... You fail at real-life, sorry, hope you're winning in your fantasy-world!
I guess I could have driven down the mountain, stopped by a photography outlet, picked up proper equipment, and driven back up but... it woudl have been over by then you dillwad :P
@Polybun Name call thats the way to be cool- not. IT was unavoidable due to the circumstances. Enjoy the video or shutup and dont watch. Better to shutup both ways actually
@Polybun Really now? Ur going to get pissed at a 30 second video some guy shot. SO lets assume he had 5$, the time to go get some type of foam from somewhere and tape it to his camerea-no bigger than his hand. ITs a cool shot, All im sayin is chill. There's no reason to call him a retard for something he could fix- AT THE MOMENT. IT's like all videos of great things- you cant freakin pause nature and say lemme get some foam so this one guy can watch my video without bitching.
@Polybun Dude its just not cool to watch some home video and insult the guy. its a homeade clip of a volcano. No need to call anyone names- thats just really dam stupid
@Polybun Yet You still reply to my positive comments like an angry old man yelling at some kids to get off his driveway. If i'm wasting your time- DONT REPLY. I don't se anybody else complaining about me wasting time- just you. Now I rest my case and wil continue my St. Helens journal report.
@DJDannyPhantum You don't see any complaints because most people have no fucking spine. They are stupid ass kissers that would rather lie to keep friends, than just be honest.
@Polybun Of course you reply... I am not going to lie. the quality of the video is bad. just don't go around spewing crap about a guy you dont know. You arent going to get any friends that way. Notice how every post you've put has some sort of negative cussing indult dude? Yeah...thats sad. U can be as negative as you want- just dont post it on the freaking comments. They r called comments- NOT-bash the guy for making a bad video. If you dont like it- move on. Simple as that
@DJDannyPhantum You are a fucking retard. Just because the comment isn't what you want to read, doesn't mean it isn't a comment. For fucks sake, why do I even bother. You are using letters in place of words. That shows what a fucking moron you are.
People are only going to get better if you tell them they have done a shit job. Most people aren't smart enough to even have any clue how little they know. I'm doing this fucking moron a service.
I guess reading isn't your strength.. It says th evideo is from October 2006. Trust me, my Sony Cybershot was fully capable of digital video at that time...
You can't read other comments obviously you silly twit. Never said it was the 1980 eruption, and turns out it was a rockslide. Still freaking cool to have been there, but thanks for being a silly monkey-head!
I used to pour over the seismographs. She definitley had some genuine eq's, but not this day. And of all the eruptions we saw, only one could be heard from JRO. Some people thought they heard the eruption on October 1st, 2004. I was standing on the deck of JRO and did not hear it. Also, an eruption cloud would be expanding very quickly upward with the release of pressurized steam, this one did not. Rockfalls used to happen all the time, every visitor thought "eruption", can't blame them though.
A large rock falling from the new dome can mimic a seismic event, hence, what you thought was a 3.5M earthquake was the rockfall. Earthquakes leave tell-tale signs of the event on a seismograph, this one didn't. I know, because I was working there at the time. =)

that was just a picture and you just make the sound.like OMG. and anyways if it's not a picture the ashes would get bigger instead of staying in the sizes.
Can you read? NOT A PICTURE. It's too short to really see the ash moving, I have tons of other pictures of the ash cloud moving around with the wind. This was when it first started and it hadn't had a chance to start to dissipate yet.
Click back and fourth between a point near the end of the video and a point near the beginning of the video. You can see that the Ash cloud is noticeably different near the end from how it was near the start. It's a small difference, so it does look a bit like a photograph that's just been shaken about. But it's not.
retard of course its not a picture, duh, that ash clud gets bigger, and the camera or phone is moving..so u people r just trying to be smart asses, well good luck wif ur fucking life! i bid u a bad day >;D
You ARE an idiot who can't tell pics and footage apart, you're life must've been really tough, seeing the way you type, you are either uneducated or a disable mental retard.
Iwillalwaysbecorrect. Take a piece of wax paper and tape it to your lap top screen. Trace the very first frame. let the video play and look at the difference. For a trained eye you can tell. Don't be rude to people when your the one that's wrong. Have a good day.
wow i cant believe you named yourself iwillalwaysbecorrect. i think that tells us all we need to know about your level of intelligence. weally weally thmart :)
enjoisk8r565 is incorrect, the mountain has actually been in constant eruption since 2004. It is not an explosive erruption because the pressure is constantly able to escape and does not build up. There is no flowing lava because the lava that escapes is too thick and solidifies quickly and is rebuilding the dome.
Oh, and definitely not a picture (although I have some of those too. I was there and people started running when they saw it.
It is the definition of the word eruption that makes you incorrect. There is steam, and there is ash and "volcanic material". Therefore, although not catastrophic, or explosive, it is an eruption, and has been since 2004. Therefore, that is a video of Mount St-Helens erupting :)
volcanic eruption - WordNet (r) 2.1 (2005) : volcanic eruption n 1: the sudden occurrence of a violent discharge of steam and volcanic material [syn: volcanic eruption, eruption]
its not an eruption, ever since the last actual eruption in 04 the volcano lets steam escape through the top on a regular basis. if it were to be an actual eruption you would see the ash flying everywhere, the cloud would be a hell of a lot bigger than that, and the color of it would be a light brown not white!
So, how do you tell the difference? I honestly can't and a big plume of ash coming out of a Volcano which is erupting at the time tends to make me think eruption... The Mount St-Helens seismic activity site also shows a 3.5 at the exact time of this picture...
Wow, that's awesome hun! Would have loved to have seen this!

so therefore i am correct since i said that the steam, or pressure, is escaping therefore not creating a huge explosion
