  • Saw these guys at Orlando Calling and was blown away! They seemed so in tune with eachother and their music. It was really beautiful.

  • Serously? Give it a break... you can't tell me cockburn was the first guy to do 3 of the most common chords in a row. There are about a dozen songs with the same chords; you can't just say this is somehow a rip off because there is a d,g, and c in a god damn song. Get real. You ever listen to the blues? Literally half of blues songs are based on the same chords... when it is this basic, it isn't what you play, but how you play it.

  • Did these guys thinks that we'd forget Cockburn's Lovers in a Dangerous Time?

  • Wow! These boy sure know how to make music. The lyrics are so traditional and easy to relate to.

  • lovely :)

  • love this song!

  • Love it.

  • cool

  • very tight arrangement!

  • umm... lovers in a dangerous time is a bruce cockburn song. not barenaked ladies. Nobody can argue his talents as a canadian artist/songwriter. It does sound similar, so maybe if you'd like, you can argue about how hard it is to find original art? or how maybe it's ok for a band to pay homage to anothers? or we could all just enjoy the song.

  • @devils3rdchild YEAH UR RIGHT THIS SONGZ STRUCTURE/PRODUCTION IZ A TOTAL RIP OF BNL"S COVER OF LOVERS WOW GOOD CALL DEVILS3KID!!!!!! WOO! WOOT WOOT!

  • Fantastic band! And from my home province too!!!

  • WOWEEE!! WOWEE!

  • Cool song, thanks guys :)

  • Great song.

  • ok I just hafta say this. Don't all try kill me at once, just throwin it out there...here goes..Doesn't the guitar sound a bit like a slowed down Lovers in a dangerous time? Please..I love this bands sound..I really do..buuut..*

  • This song is really unique, I like it. <3 The Deep Dark Woods!

  • @Sykoze dude, i think you need you'r balls reattached!

  • @chappydebom err.. what?

  • Saw them yesterday at the Marapossa Music festival. Awesome!!!!

  • I saw them open for joel plaskett on Canada day in Halifax this year, and it was cool, but for most of their performance, unfortunately, I was in line for the bathroom. x.x

  • Bare Naked Naked ladies are Canadas greatest shame as musicians, and to compare these guys to them is bullshit...check out Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt if you want to hear who they sound like...not those other hacks

  • @deluxehd The Barenaked Ladies are Canada's greatest shame? Have you ever LISTENED to Nickelback? Or what about Justin Bieber? The Barenaked Ladies are a great band.

The Deep Dark Woods are amazing, and comparing them to the Barenaked Ladies is idiotic, but to say the Barenaked Ladies are a bad band is also idiotic.

    Good day, sir.

  • @Sykoze Well i had forgotten about those two suck-ass Canadian acts...along with Headley and Avril Lavigne. But c'mon The Barenaked Shit-Heads were just the 90's version of these so-called bands now...you want great Canadian talent look up The Band, Neil Young, Hank Snow, many many others that had actual talent...not some homos jumping around with bad haircuts.

  • @deluxehd First, as a homosexual I am offended by your comment. Second, my library include over over 200 Canadian bands. Neil Young and Leonard Cohen quite possibly being two of the most famous from Canada. The Barenaked Ladies were supposed to be a fun and light band, and they succeeded at writing good, poppy music. It was catchy, and it didn't have to be particularly well-written to be enjoyable.

So I respect them for doing what they set out to do near flawlessly.

  • @Sykoze so I'm replying to your 1 year old comment about barenaked ladies being a great canadian band. I totally agree. lmao

  • time to be jello i got their autographs for both hang me oh hang me and the winter hours yeah

  • I'm pretty sure they hate the Barenaked Ladies.

  • @SaskatoonBudStars we can only hope.

  • @SaskatoonBudStars I know that for a fact!

  • wicked band

  • i meant to say I will get by

  • i will survive

    johnny invincible

  • Loverrrrs, In a dangerous time.

Great song, I love it, but come on obviously influenced by Bruce Co, and Barenaked Ladies.

Again i mean no dis-respect. The song is killer and in my rotation at the moment, but gotta give credit when its due.

  • definatley aggree with all-0-that.

  • @higgiesdad Lovers, in a dangerous time popped into my head too lol

  • @lexy1330 You are an idiot.

  • @higgiesdad your a fool more like john hurt muddy waters howlin wolf led zeppelin ryan boldt said it himself thats the lead singer btw

  • Orio, completely agree. I couldn't figure out why it sounded familiar til I saw that post. And maybe a blue rodeo tune too.... They pulled a Zeppelin lol Nonetheless, great song by these guys, catchy as hell.

  • Almost gives me chills I like it so much

  • Anyone else think this sounds like The Grateful Dead?

  • BNL meets Blue Rodeo with a little Jad Fair and some Grapes of Wrath. Excellent
