I'm trying to grow as many of my own vegetables as I can in my own garden - they taste a whole lot better than buying them from the shops! The Old Covenant was never given to the gentiles, but only to the jews, as part and parcel of being given the land of Israel. I'm not obliged by the instructions of Leviticus which were given to the Jews along with circumcision which Paul made it clear, is not required to have faith in God.

HE also said it is ok to eat food sacrificed to idols, which is in contradiction to what better and real apostles to Christ said. many christians have doubts about Paul. I'm trying to grow as many of my own vegetables as I can in my own garden - they taste a whole lot better than buying them from the shops! @theCosmicQueen I think you may be referring to a comment I made some time ago? As a Christian myself, I receive the New Covenant in Christ, not the Old Covenant for the Israelites. The Old Covenant was never given to the gentiles, but only to the jews, as part and parcel of being given the land of Israel. I'm not obliged by the instructions of Leviticus which were given to the Jews along with circumcision which Paul made it clear, is not required to have faith in God.

In the same way, the many instructions in Leviticus are not instructions to Gentiles, but to Jews primarily. If there is wisdom in the instructions then in certain circumstances there may be no harm in you following them, except when it comes to execution of homosexuals & witches. However Christ came to show us a better way, the way of faith, mercy and compassion - the gospel

Guy, Salvation is not about eating or drinking. It is about forgiveness of Sins. In OT Gog made everything clear by establishing Law(Leviticus 4) for forgiveness of sins.
In that Law(Leviticus 4) God wrote that Sin are forgiven through Sin sacrifice.
Jesus become ultimate sacrifice for sins and by this he fulfilled the Law(Leviticus 4).
All Muslims reject Sin Sacrifice and by this reject the law(Leviticus 4) how sins are forgiven. All Muslims die unforgiven with Sin.

The second argument can be summarized as: the porc is generally extremely bad for your health.
In older days here in Holland this would make sense. Now, chicken has become more a food product than an animal. Consequently every piece of chicken sold now contains a bacteria that is resistant to all known antibiotics. All because of mass production.
So...if I were to try to make any point against eating porc, I would make it a point against eating ANY mass produced type of meat.

@BabyZora That is a good argument. However, in regards to the matter of halal in general. It is ironic to say that it is suddenly alright to eat an animal because it was cared for with compassion (halal).
When in fact the human body does not need that meat for it's own survival in the first place. So killing it is unnecessary, yet it is halal. And to my knowledge the Qur'an does not say that we need meat in our food.
I'm not saying halal is wrong, I just see a contradiction.
