  • Wow! That is amazing!!!!!!!!

  • @GenghisKhan44 Why the hell do you comment on 'crap' like this? PS It isn't crap, I was just twisting his words.

  • Love this theme! If I sent you a pic msg of my face, could you do one with that and this sequence?

  • amazing :) 5/5

  • Wow, that was impressive! :D Which program did you use to make this?

  • Lightwave. And thank you.

  • i swear if i didnt know better i'd beleive that were official from the show! great job! i'd love to see more

  • That was fantastic. Well done. The side shot added a little uniquity to the presentation. Brilliant, and a full-deck better than a lot of the poor attempts at fan-made titles sequences Ive seen.

  • Cheers! And tomorrow we find out who the new doctor is. Time for a new title sequence.

  • That is brilliant! The side shot works really well - I love the feeling of the old series titles and you have really captured that here but made it your own!

  • Wayhey! Somebody else likes the side shot. Thanks.

  • If I could be one of the doctors, I'd be Tom Baker! "Care for a jelly baby?"

  • that was awesome!!! WOW.

  • Holy *crap* that's awesome. :-)

  • Given up hope? This is far bloody brilliant than the BBC's!!!

  • Thanks. Not given up yet though. This one trick poney is going to give it another bash. It's going to be truly awfull:-)

  • i loved it

  • EPIC WIN!

  • Thank you. Some of the other title sequences on here are so good as well. It's great to see people doing Dr Who stuff.

  • probably THE best dr who titles ive ever seen!keep it up!

  • Thanks very much. And I love your user name. Protestifications, if it is not a real word I intend to use it as one. It will be slipped into conversation today.

  • Cool!!! Bad picture of Tennant though!

  • LOL. Yea I know that picture was a bad idea. I thought it would be a wee bit different. Actually it was the only decent resolution one I could find at the time. (excuses, Excuses)

  • if i was one of the doctors on doctor who which iwant to be i want to be the 12th or 13th doctor who though i would use this as my theme but i dont think i can be the doctor because im american

  • So? There's no law against nationality in Doctor Who! I mean it is a good thing when you get actors playing the Doctor who aren't English. That's nothing against the actors who played the Doctor that aren't English, in fact my favourite Doctor isn't English - Sylvester McCoy. And of course David Tennant isn't English either. You might be quite good at playing the Doctor, just make sure it is different to whats gone before.

  • hey ive seen every sylvester mccoy episode hes one of my favorites too

  • There was an American Dr Who movie made back before 2000 - Paul McGann as The Doctor (although he is British...)

But nationality should not be an issue for The Doctor - he is Gallifreyan after all... there was talk of having a female Doctor at one point (Jennifer Saunders, anybody? No? Just asking...) but even race shouldn't really matter - it is just what audiences will accept I suppose. I think Eccleston and Tennant have been a great addition to the lineage... big shoes to fill and all that!

  • I like what you say there 'Eccleston And Tennant a great addition to to the lineage' Yup! And what a fine line they come from. There has never been an actor cast in the part that has ever let me down. Just some of the stuff they were given. Every Doctor has been a gem.

  • I like that picture. It's very mysteriousiffishifying.

  • At last someone who likes the picture. I just thought it would be different having the side shot. And it was the only decent sized photo I could get at the time. Needs must, and all that.

  • About twenty seconds in is really good and the stuff around the logo is top stuff. More of that and less of the 16-bit era demo effects at the beginning I reckon ;)

  • I thought 20 -24 are the worst bits.

  • Nah. The stuff prior to 20" is too fast, too 'disco' and pointing in the wrong directions. However the background just before the logo appears is a *really nice* corridor effect - looks very similar to bits in '2001'. Then as the logo retreats you use the logo texture on the walls? That bit's really good too.

  • Very effective. I like it.

  • LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEE IT! So freakin' AWESOME! Wish they had somethin' like that on the series. Make more!

  • Thanks mate. And I fully intend to make some more. I WILL SWAMP THIS WORLD WITH DOCTOR WHO TITLE SEQUENCES!!!!!!!! (Oh I went all a bit Davros there.)

  • i dont even know what slit scan is, but this is freakin awesome man. Theres nothing wrong with it, cept a weird black triangle what ever thing at the end, the end of the tunnel, maybe it just looks odd all by itself i dont know. Otherwise its amazing.

  • Thanks. Yeah it does look a bit odd. Never really put all the finishing touches on this. But looking odd in anything related to Doctor Who is kinda normal:-)

  • How in God's name did you do that???

  • Not easy to explain quickly. A CGI program to make the time tunnels then a video editing program to mix all the seperate bits together with added blurs and fades and distortion effects. I've never been happy with this one so I want to do another David Tennant one with the new title music. Stay Tuned!

  • Maybe we should all boycott Doctor Who until they use this as the title sequence (although I'm not so sure about the bit with David Tennant's face, maybe you should make it smaller??)

    5/5

  • Yup. A less 'in yer face' face is what I was thinking:-)Back to the old drawing board then.

  • Holy MOLEY, that was awesome!!!

  • 'Holy Moley', I love that phrase. It's not used often enough these days. Thanks for your comment.

  • Should have had him looking straight into the camera. It's a bit odd to have him looking off to the side. Makes him look too young somehow.

  • At the time I couldn't get a decent shot of him looking at camera. I hated the side on look to start with but it's growing on me. Just thought it would be a wee bit different.

  • Brilliant! Looks VERY mysterious! Not sure abut the colored lines at the beginning though. :D

  • Perhaps the colours are a tad garish. Still I like you find it mysterious. That's our Doctor. He's a mysterious kinda bloke. April 5th 6:20pm 2008, he's back. WOO HOO!!!!

  • go to the bbc can get it change this is a classic

  • Thanks. I must admit I wish I could do a howlaround type sequence. One of my earliest memories is of the Patrick Troughton title sequence and the music. 39 years later and I'm like a big kid, waiting for Doctor Who to start again in couple of weeks from now... David Tennant is awfully good (IMO). Roll on!! April 5th.

  • Troughton was alittle before my time but i rember getting up at 5am on the weekends t watch dr. who on UK tv gold. i rember watching the 1st new epsiode on the 9th and asking my dad if the dleks were in it

  • That's great. It's aways good to know The Doctor is appreciated and enjoyed by folk. He's been around for such a long time, and for much longer may it continue.

  • WOW.

  • This is a great opening for Doctor Who. Maybe u should work for George Lucas or at ILM. These are GR8 FX. Good going mate!!

  • Neat job! I actually like this better than the Series 1-3 opening credits - haven't seen Series 4 but I imagine it will be more of the same. This is the subtle Doctor Who we all remember rather than the BBC Wales National Orchestra hitting you over the head with violins and cellos. Tennant's face is a little too big tho - I don't ever remember seeing a Doctor's freckles before. :) Still, it's great!

  • Hee Hee. Freckles. Yes perhaps a bit of subtle airbrushing might have been called for before using that partucular picture:-) Ta for the comment.

  • Oh I dunno..the face shot was quite good and I like how it suddenly emerges, rather than pops on like some other attempts on here. I like the overall thing, but how about more of a vortex effect with the police box, like the current opening sequence for the series? This would go quite well with the series 3 music, too!

  • Thanks for your comments. I'd love to do a bendy time tunnel like the new series, but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm really cheesed off about that:-)

  • These are brilliant :)

  • Fantastic. I loved that Who logo and the way the it evokes the original - brilliant

  • Awesome!!!!

  • The face is too big, but otherwise, it's perfect!

  • They would be good as the titles for Series Four. Brilliant.

  • Ooh, very tasteful and well done indeed

  • Very interesting. Loved it.

  • OOOH! IN FRIGGIN STEREO!!!!

  • Hey that wasn't bad... I liked how you did Tennant's face.. I almost thought he was going to turn to face us at one moment. :)

  • i thought it was really cool!

  • what software did u use?

  • Lightwave 3D. Adobe After Effects, and Ulead Mediastudio to mix it all together. And Adobe Audition for the theme tune mix.

  • thanks!

  • only thing that should be changed is how the Face is done, otherwise very very good

  • I know what you mean. There weren't any decent quality pics at the time. Lots of pics on the BBC website but not a lot of good close ups, Front face. So took the chance of using a good side shot.

Thanks for the comment, Positive Criticism is always welcome. Cheers

  • Oh that is just brill! Fantastic! This should be the new tenth doctor title sequence!

  • How did you make this Doctor Who title

  • That's just too difficult to answer in a short text. If you want to know send me a PM and i'll go into some detail.

  • what's the pm?

  • PM...Private Message.

  • Ok - I'll give you a accont message

  • Un second thought - You give me a account message

  • its an account message NOT a account message

  • Impressive

  • I mean Inpressive

  • I LOVE IT!!!

  • This is excellent! Best non-official title sequence on Youtube.

  • You REALLY ought to send this off to BBC Wales. I MEAN IT!

    burn it to DVD

find out the address for the BBC Cardiff centre from the BBC's website

    post it!

  • Simply brilliant.

  • Amazing. I would love if this idea were used for the show! Be proud!

  • You didn't get it right...you got it PERFECT! I love it. And the morphing logo/time tunnel....GENIUS.

  • Thank you very much. I'm really pleased folk like it. The logo is probably the bit I think is ok. Thanks for watching.

  • I like that.. the TARDIS model is fantastic. One suggestion, if you feel it isn't quite right, try reversing the video so it starts with the diamond logo.

  • Thanks. And you have reminded me I must, and should have credited the TARDIS model to Rob Semenoff. His work is fantastic. Have a look at his website, stunning 3D models.

  • I think I already have visited his website, in fact his website encouraged my to look at Lightwave rather than just sticking with 3D Studio Max. What did you use to do the Baker Era time tunnel effect?

  • Lightwave. It's so much easier to learn than 3D studio Max. IMHO.

  • I don't know. I find 3DS Max easier to model in. How did you do that title sequence? Is it a plug-in?

  • this is really good. well done!

  • could u do one for eccelston! cos he was the best doctor

  • OK. There's a challenge:-) And thanks for your comment.

  • no prob tis nice to find some really good work! i like all the slit scan stuff as well! the pertwee one really works well

  • when i say best i mean next 2 baker of course! but still u gotta luv eccelston but ppl just seem to hav forgotten him n think tennant is much better! a complete lie!

  • this is brilliant! iv always prefered that original theme over the new version! n i luv the way the old logo was used yet seemed so modern! n played reference to the older titles! very well done! the stuff iv found on here has bin crap! but this was actualy good!

  • I also like how you use an older theme, but you still have Tennent's version playing faintly in the backround, which makes it like the other titles but still has this individual Doctor's uniqueness to it. It certainly had a lot of "oomph" when *I* saw it!! I think this video will be to you what the Cantina scene in the first Star Wars was to George Lucas; he was never satisfied with it, but it's one of the most popular scenes in Star Wars.

  • How could you have POSSIBLY "given up hope" on this?!? I think it's fantastic!! I LOOOOVE how you made it more like the other main titles; the one thing that I find lacking in the new series is the normal "face fade-in" that went out with the TVM. It's a cool Who thing that they never brought back, much to my chagrin.

  • WOW Super!

  • Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Hey not bad. I applaud your efforts that was a good job, loved the cgi tardis and logo.

  • Thanks. have been dreading the first comment. It's not exactly what I wanted it to look like but I lost patience with it. The fade in of the face has about four different layers of slit scan type effect on it, but it just looks like a simple fade in. Well thanks.
