i've got 2 q's: 1. sigma has 2 lowercases; σ and ς... does it matter which 1 u wright?2. is epsilon pronounced as e and eta as ey? couse that's how i understood it. and in that case, is it always or are there exeptions?
@UrskogTrolle 1. The first sigma (σ) is "medial sigma" because it goes at the beginning or in the middle of words. The other (ς), "final sigma" only goes at the end of words. 2. In Erasmian pronunciation the epsilon is pronounced "eh," and the eta is pronounced like the "a" in bake. Exception: epsilon in diphthongs really retains the "eh" sound but when combined with the other letter it blends. See video #5.
The pronunciations are wrong in this video! If you will ever have to say the letters out loud in public do NOT use this!
