a silver aussie dollar? how did that come to be?

Actually as I was up at 1:30am (it's 1:57am now) it soundly came to me that is actually a 1957 Silver Florin not a dollar... it's still special though but it only cost me $10 at a coin dealer at a market (worth $34 on ebay ;-) ).
