And this is the spot where Kenny Rogers shot that scene with the kids from six pack. Yes sir Atlanta truly is a international city. Thumbs up if you know what I'm talking about!
I have been trying to find this on dvd or anywehre else. I watched this movie 6 times in one day when it first came out. I wanna see it so bad now. Any ideas as to where I can get it.
oh man awesome. I've told so many people about this movie I saw as a kid over the years. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Great job on the video.
2:06 is my favorite part of the whole movie, "YOU NO GOOD, ROTTEN, WASHED-UP, FORKED TONGUE, BLACKHEARTED, DOUBLE DEALING, BACKSTABBING ALKIE BUM! We could've been great together."
A great deal of this was filmed at our home race track here in north Ga,Dixie Speedway. If you visit the Ga racing hall of fame you can see a picture of Kenny and track owner Mickey Swims. I live right down the road when they were filming.
I knew my dad till I was 6.. he wanted to take me to the park one day, but I started watching this movie and we sat together for a few hours to watch this and Grease 2 on HBO.... i never saw him again till i was 21 he died a year later. This song reminds me of him.
I remember this from back in the day, my mother was a big Kenny Rogers fan back then lol, I liked the cars, even had the Hot Wheel of red and white T-Bird.
Good movie. My son can quote th movieas soon as he see the scene. I wa just watch this tribute to Robby Still and waa wounder if he is still alive nad if not when did he die. If so soorry to hear it. He was great in the movie.
My fav movie of all time. When I stayed at my grandmothers when a youngin, I recall watching this movie at least 20 times over the summer. I guess I was in love with Dianne Lane. ;-)
This kid had great timing and the deadpan Kenny Rogers looks were really excellent. They may have had to do a bunch of takes on some, but how many people can nail that (okay don't get upset, I'm gonna channel swifty) shi- kickin' son of a bitc-in line deliverin, not to mention the f---ing passion this little ba-tard exhibits when he brings it. It's F---in CLASSIC! Great film for what it was, too.
Where at?? Would love to see if I might get an autograph!! Loved his character as a kid, and still do!! Fond memories of this cussin SOB as a kid watching it on HBO!! Ha ha ha!!
thank you for posting this i love this movie i watch it every year before race season kicks off gets me fired up i work on a pro stock team that races all over new england
@drassassin13 where do u live at? I'm the niece of the boy that sang Rocky Top.... I remember going to the premiere of this in Atlanta..and meeting the cast!
So I wonder what he's up to now a days??? I used to love this as a kid!! Saw it on youtube, but it's not the same as watching it on video!! Great movie, great music, funny as hell!! And of course my favrorite, Swifty dammit it's Swifty!!!! Ha ha ha
I have been watching this movie since I was three I still have the beta (old video format) version My grandfather got for me then. I picked up the dvd this past christmas.
@morry32 This movie was made in 1982; and back then, there was only G, PG and R for ratings. PG-13 didn't come in until 1984. But back then, you could get away with a lot of stuff; and as a society, we weren't as politically correct as we are now. I don't recall Swifty dropping an F-bomb. But if this were released today, it would receive a PG-13 all things considered.
@lakebay972 by today's standards, the bastard" and "shit" are nothing.I remember watching this for the first time when I was 10 at a friend's birthday party, back when having a VCR was a huge novelty even to rent and I used to have it on VHS also..
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo no he is not dum oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
For you short track race fans.....some triva.....The dirt car raced in the movie was an old asphalt car that Ohio's Glenn Gault Sr. drove on asphalt in the mid 70's at Sharon Speedway and other midwest short tracks. @LiLmIsShOtRoD83 ... some of the racing scenes were done at Atlanta Motor Speedway as well. I know b/c I was there when they were filming the movie. My uncle plays Steven in it.
Swifty was who definitely made this movie on top of Kenny Rogers starring in it.
