This is great... although, IMO, it would sound better on something less jangly than a Gretsch... e.g. a D'Aquisto New Yorker w/ some Thomastik-Infeld flat-wound 13s.
thanks alex. no conservatory. private lessons with a few good teachers, and lots of practicing, transcribing, books, etc. i think my main talent is really just the discipline to practice......
thanks for a really nice comment, ej. the feedback really keeps me motivated. i love this song too, and hope my posts give viewers a moment to chill during their day, and connect to some good memories.
i love this song so much i love your guitar playing...i hope that someday i will be able to play as good as you...your one cool man..i like your version of brandy too :)keep it up!
i hate people who cannot play the guitar but still make vidz and load them up on youtube !!! but i love people like you, people who have skills, you are GREAT, keep on making videos because this sound really nice what you are doing with the guitar !!! you rock see ya or hear ya !!!
thanks Tg, for all your kind comments. I plan on posting more vids, but been a little busy lately with work/life stuff. but more will be coming, and thanks for subscribing.
you keep comming up with these cool old tunes that i have either forgotten about or just wrote off as never being able to play them.then, here you come & prove to me they can be played!! your playing is an inspiration to me! 5*'s once again my friend. Bud
Thanks so much, Bud. When I started doing a lot of solo/duo instrumental gigs years ago, I realized that most folks were too young to know the 'standards'. So I started trying to work in more contemporary stuff, and a lot of these tunes I'd already played in bands. All you really need is a strong melody. Right now I'm trying to expand my folk/bluegrass repertoire, so 'ditto' for the inspiration. So much music, so little time!. (Hope you solved the tech issues).
