  • thanks alex. no conservatory. private lessons with a few good teachers, and lots of practicing, transcribing, books, etc. i think my main talent is really just the discipline to practice......

  • Thanks so much, Bud. When I started doing a lot of solo/duo instrumental gigs years ago, I realized that most folks were too young to know the 'standards'. So I started trying to work in more contemporary stuff, and a lot of these tunes I'd already played in bands. All you really need is a strong melody. Right now I'm trying to expand my folk/bluegrass repertoire, so 'ditto' for the inspiration. So much music, so little time!. (Hope you solved the tech issues).
