@copito94 if you knew ANYTHING about the wii you would know the sensor bar doesn't sense anything.

The sensor bar is not used at all during bowling. It works from an accelerometer in the wiimote. the information from the accelerometer is sent to the console via bluetooth.

The wiimote is actually the IR sensitive part. It senses where the sensor bar is, which beams out 4 IR led's on each side. This is picked up by the IR sensor in the wiimote and sent via bluetooth.
