@hypnosis101 Lol, I didn't really separate their shoulder... I pulled their arm right off :O Noo, I didn't do that either. I haven't even tried this induction :)
@baseball4355 i hav been leaning hypnosis for FIVE YEARS. i did alot of research. wht i did was i practiced ALOT on friends with diferent ways to put them in a trace. then i found the one tht works best for me. try it! :D
@1149600 In my experience, there is not one induction that works best for everyone. People respond to different inductions differently. It's useful to have skill with a range of inductions.
This is only a guess from an absolute beginner; but I think I know how this works:
Notice how he emphasises on how the client agrees to be hypnotised. After that the hypnotist asks the client to lower his thoughts (the freshest thought on his mind will be "I agree to by hypnotised")
As he "lowers the feeling in his head" down to his heart, he amplifies the suggestion that he will be hypnotised.
The hynotist is just making the client beleive that he is being hypnotised.
The agreement to be hypnotized is certainly helpful. It gets a commitment.
"The hynotist is just making the client beleive that he is being hypnotised."
I partially agree with this statement. The belief that he is going to be hypnotized is helpful however the hypnotist is not JUST making the client believe he is being hypnotized. There's a lot of stuff going on here.
Yeah your right about the client agreeing to be hypnotise, when the hypnotist tugged his arm he automatically bypassed the clients critical factor then the sleep suggestion & moving the head forward put him into a trance, which was kept going by talking to the client.
Does he slap him on the head as well or snap his fingers as he pulls his arm using the handshake interrupt? Or does he just pull his arm, say sleep, and move his hand away from his head? Because I hear a "snap sound" as he does it and I'm not sure what from.
A slight shock or confusion can put people into a suggestible mode. During that period of suggestibility, if you get the idea across to them to enter hypnosis, they often will.
There's a lot more to this induction that that though. If you know about rep system shifts, the handshake interrupts etc., you may know what I mean.
Sounds like confusing mumbo jumbo but then prosumably while the layperson mind is trying to make sense of it, wham, the subconcious is exposed and they are hypnotised.
That's what I call knockout in one seconds.

Well, I just did some more research, and I ralised that the slap to the head caused a moment of confusion.
I beleive that during this moment of confusion, there is a moment of perfect suggestibility?
Kelarre653 2 years ago
Thanks for your comments BTW. Confusion, shock or surprise does tend to increase suggestibility! That's another of the layers that's going on here...

do people in church use this by your observation lets say benny hinn and the like
ihaveaverybadcold 3 years ago
I haven't seen Benny Hinn in a while but, from what I've seen, most religious services include hypnotic elements.

Although confusion is a part of this induction, there's a purpose for everything Michael does that goes well beyond confusion.
