  • go and look at her most recent video - dancing the pas de deux with mario. she looks severely underweight, almost anorexic - your awful & unnecessary comments probably caused this. you should feel ashamed.

  • Look at the video of her as a 17 yrs old girl. THAT is the body she's having now, which is v.nice for ballet. So, no more comments abt her wrong body shape, type, cos she's nt having any problems NOW.

  • Dang

  • She is an exceptional dancer who is fearless and has worked so hard. Her body is beautiful and it is unfair to say anything negative about her body. She is gorgeous!!!

  • Isn't she 16 here? Not 15?

  • Joy Womack overweight? wtf is wrong with you people, i've seen her in person and she has a gorgeous ballet body. She went to the freaking Bolshoi school, there are strict weight requirements it's not even funny.

  • i dont get how people says she needs to lose weight! she's perfect!!

  • my word she is stunning stunnning and more stunnnning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! does she need to lose weight no. is she beautiful, yes!

  • weight loss never even crossed my mind while i was watching this. i thought she looked very light on her feet. she doesn't even have curves!! if she lost any more weight, there'd be nothing left of her!

  • I think she is a beautiful weight and is amazing in this variation and i would love to be like her in the Bolshoi ballet so Joy you are amazing :)

  • the choreography is not my favorite but she's a beautiful dancer!

  • She is only fifteen, so she's still growing and her body is changing. If she does want to lose weight, she should be very careful or at least wait until she's a little older. As a ballerina, it does help your dancing when you are at a lighter weight. You must be careful though, that you do not lose so much weight that you lose strength.

She looks healthy and strong. She does not need to lose weight.

  • @thegreendestiny- God damn, 10 lbs? If she lost 10 lbs she'd be rail-thin and wouldn't have the strength needed to dance correctly. Besides, she's only 15 and training at Bolshoi Academy. If she's this good now, just think how good she'll be at 20.

  • @soyuncatacol Natalia Osipova and Uliana Lopatkina are "rail-thin" which allows them to jump so high they look like flying birds.

  • @thegreendestiny- Natalia isn't rail thin. She's slim but not skinny. The same thing with Uliana. And they jump like "flying birds" because they've been training longer than Joy has. It has to do with skill, not weight.

  • @thegreendestiny

Your thinking is exactly why so many ballerinas have eating disorders and find out later that they are sterile. Television ADDS ten pounds to a person, meaning that if this girl lost anymore weight she would look ill. Now, I may not speak for the majority of viewers, but I don't want to see a ballerina's hip, rib or collar bones when she dances. It looks terrible and gives the wrong impression. Like models who walk the catwalk, ballerinas should also have weight restrictions.

  • @fredrika27 Ok, the ten pounds I said was an exaggeration. When I said she needs to lose weigh, I really meant she needs to firm up more because her thighs and her stomach area looks bloated it almost seems she's burdened by it. Protruding hip and collar bones doesn't mean they have unhealthy eating habit, e.g. Polina Semionova. It make them more athletic on the other hand.

  • @thegreendestiny Excuse me?! If she were overweight she wouldn't of been accepted to Bolshoi!

  • @thegreendestiny i think its a reallyyyyy good thing that she has curves and that she is not just skin and bone

  • @thegreendestiny umm.......your an idiot, you only care about weight that she DOESN'T need to lose instead of her obvious talent,

  • Absolutely lovely.

  • I love her. haha she's soo good!!

  • I'm surprised 60 minutes hasn't done a story on her.

  • what act is?????

  • Where can i get the music to this?

  • this is the first time i like this variation... joy does a great job, i hope to hear a lot from her in the future

  • im so glad she realized at a young age exactly what she wanted to do. she is so talented and im so proud of her for not giving up even through injury. she is a lovely dancer and so inspiring.
