I wanted to add one more thing...lots of people are commenting on the alien ending. I didn't care for that either but at one point didn't it kind of look like they were going to make them "angels" but changed to aliens? And this is of no real significance but they made a point of the hearing aid at least twice and never really backed it up with anything. But then I always look for the little things to be explained.

@ConnieT2008 they were presented as angels...as something which came to save the human race...and i guess they took the children..maybe cuz they were more pure than the adults. o__O and were capable of continuing the human race, dont u think so?

I liked the movie but kind of felt the ending had a 1960's sort of feel to it. But I'd like to have it in my collection and watch it again from time to time.

Its basicaly very good and subtle propaganda against the existense of a supreme and loving God. theybtry to make the bad angels lok like they have changed and become the "good " guys-- its one of those movies which is atempting to destroy peoples faith in a true and caring God --and it works on the weak in faith and thats quiet a few people. so those of you who are weakinfaith --build your faith oin the rock --chist jesus not the lies of this movie.

Great flix! Had no knowledge of film until i saw it on cable. it hooked me from the beginning till the end. Script was tight. Effects top shelf. The director knows his craft.

I hate this movie. It looks good but its not. I thought it was boring, i fell asleep watching it and it was cheesy. The airplane crashing scene was the worst animation i have ever seen. I don't care much for Nicolas Cage but I did like him in the national treasured movies. I would recommend skipping this film, unless you like cage.

the point to the stone is to show the directions on where to find the place to take the kids... they find the stone as a landmark showing that, thats were lucinda lived near and thats where they would leave and the earth would begin to burn and the black stones rising as they kids left i think was just for effect
