Sorry guys but this reel has more torque than any low profile on the market... it is designed for saltwater and the X Ship double bearing system makes cranking big baits effortless... double cowgirls are a joke with the Tranx... not to mention a capacity of 210 yards of 80 lb Power Pro and a 25 lb max drag.
@GettingSchoold please correct me if i am wrong but Ambassadeur C4, and rev toro hold pretty much the same ammount of 80 lb power pro(18lb mono equiv), also the rev toro already has 24 lb of drag where as the c4 has about 15lb of drag so if you have the rev toro the only thing thats different is the gear ratio which i think is 4.6:1 which i found perfect for musky while trolling where as the c4 has 6.3:1 which is just awesome for pretty much anything
@hardkilla 22 lbs of drag on the Toro winch and other models. Also there is no comparison on inches of line per handle turn when burning baits when comparing low profile baitcasters... The Tranx will bring in 43" pht on the high speed 6.6:1 version, the 4.6:1 brings in 30' pht. The C4 is not built the same way as it is a round profile casting reel. You really have to try the Tranx to appreciate the torque it has, it's like comparing a diesel engine to a gas.
Believe me, this isn't to start a pissing match over which is better, this is a different reel made to handle different species and for the angler who loves having all the toys it should be tried. I always just find it funny how guys will watch a video posted and then have to say that the competition is better... always has baffled me...lol
@GettingSchoold you know i may have jumped the gun early in judging it but honestly i will stick to my c4 and toro until i can get my hands on tranx and give it a personal test
come and muskie fish the Saint Jonh River here in New Brunswick! It's a blast and the fish are big! Even a chance at some monster stripers too! The best part of all, you can fish right downtown fredericton!
should be a easy to catch musky with that reel ;-)
