  • "Fuck modern technology right in it's cutting edge... OW!"

This here, is the absolute funniest line I've ever heard, if a bit immature.

  • Nobody seems to understand my point. my point is that WE (ie Russia, the UK and France) did most of the work, and America stepped in to help us secure victory. I admit, if America hadnt come in to help, I would be typing in German now, but you cant deny that we did the vast majority of the work. Its like Batman and Robin. The Americans see themselves as Batman, the main hero who did most of the work and everyone else as Robin, whereas in reality its the other way around.

  • @SerbianMeerkat I wouldn't say vast majority of work, the Brits needed that food we were growing over here and sending on boats and the soviets did rely on american built trucks and planes. Never mind it was an American who designed the chassis for the famed T34 or that the Higgins boat which was so vital to the invasion of normandy was designed and built in America or that we singlehandedly beat the Japanese into submission while we where doing all this and much more...

  • I don't really know why yahtzee took much issue with the British character being evil. He wouldn't have batted an eye if the villain was some American accented person even if it was the friendly accents.

I know he hails from there so he's inclined to defend it at times but come on. you take shots at us all the time. Gotta take the punches too once in awhile.

  • @fia2322 Yeah, Sony's kinda stupid like that...

  • KZ3 isnt being "bold" assigning shoot to R1...

Almost every shooter game on ps3 has R1 as the default shoot button...

  • He didn't say it was actually MADE by a developer in USA; he only said that the good guys are always US American, and British and Russians always seem to portray the Evil Side. And for the most part, he's right!

  • You got to admit it, us british do make being evil look fun and powerful

  • I can see wanting to use the bottom shoulder buttons for shooting on Xbox, but R1 and L1 work better on ps3 for almost everybody.

  • "Cockney doesn't sound evil. It sounds honest and cheeky-chips lovable. You couldn't picture Dick Van Dyke hiding in bushes in the park popping children's balloons with a blow pipe." I laughed so hard I lost three lives.

  • "Maybe they couldn't see the crater where the wood used to be for the smoldering remains of the trees"...Wait, what?

  • @mgraiziger The phrase "can't see the forest for the trees" means one is focusing too much on the details that they're missing the big picture. Here, the developers of KZ3 focused too much on making the game show off Sony's new tech that they missed what a good game should be, having a good story, relate-able characters, and being overall fun. By adding, "crater where the wood used to be" and "smoldering remains of the trees", yahtzee is saying the developers cocked it up more than usual.

  • @Unh0lySpectre Oh, didn't think of that phrase when I heard that. That clears things up, thanks.

  • KZ2 or KZ3

  • Could be Wurst...

  • I don't get it. It's always "poor" American "heroes" versus European, Asian, or Middle Eastern cockjockeys. We seem to forget that WE ourselves were once Europeans. Why aren't we ever the egotistical baby-stomping assnuggets? Oh, wait....

  • @xboxgamer9991

According to Yahtzee's tweet, his point is valid because it's still marketed towards americans, after all it's the main market.

  • I amm pretty sure a game where america is the enemy would get all of the developers water boarded... Overall the patriotic element in games, is really starting to piss me off as an american. The whole AMERICAAA FUCK YEAH mentality is probably why we let ourselves become china's bitch.

  • 1:52 It says "DO NOT NOT NOT NOT SHOOT." That's a quadruple negative, so it means the same thing as "DO SHOOT," and they were actually following orders.

  • @Zovioh I think he forgot the commas.

  • I just want ONE game where the Americans are the bad guys. Just ONE. And I'm an American! I'm tired of America being the ONLY country in the world capable saving the world.

  • Used internet money to buy something expensive that you hate anyway....

    FUCKIN' GENIUS.

  • R1 is always shoot on PS3.

  • All the bad guys in Star Wars are British too.

  • @SageVallant

    Are they?

Aww shit yeah, the generals on the destroyers are. Dammit.

  • @TheBlueFlex The sets were all in England for the original film so the extras are all Brits. :)

  • @SageVallant nuh uh. Jar jar wasn't

  • You do realize killzone is originally from the netherlands? But agreed on the voices lol

  • Killzone is a Dutch game. You now, that country in Europe where you can smoke dope.

  • @9191billie Oi! Not everyone in the Netherlands agrees with the dope policies which my stupid government has. By the way, everyone knows who comes to the Netherlands to smoke the dope!

  • We didnt help the USA defeat the nazis. We did most of the work and then America came in to help us finish the job.

  • @SerbianMeerkat Yes. We come at the last second, help the Europeans, and take all the credit for doing it even though we were really blowing up Asians.

  • @SerbianMeerkat None of the Allies could have won without each other. England would have sustained much worse if Russia had not been taking the brunt of the attacks, Russia would have collapsed without Allied support, America would not have had any chance without the sacrifices and victories of England and Russia, and England and Russia would not have won without American arms and soldiers. It's impossible to say that any country did 'most of the work'.

  • @SerbianMeerkat says what would have been the German province had it not been for the States : )

  • @SerbianMeerkat wrong actually Russia got hit the worst and finished the job, they even got hit worse than the jews, we did suffer a lot more than the US, the US lost less than a handful of civilians so I dont get why they talk about "their" suffering

  • @SerbianMeerkat If by 'we' you mean "Just Russia", then yes!

  • @SerbianMeerkat

Hmm. If these maps are correct, Europe was almost entirely Axis controlled during 1941. The US only joined the war at the end of 1941, but I guess the rest of the world had it under control until then.

  • @SerbianMeerkat no offense but you kinda were losing the war for a long long time. It was a mutual effort and America did ALOT of work rescueing England from defeat. Russia also did alot of work to but then decided they didnt like the west much.

  • @SerbianMeerkat Normandy landing. Battle of The Bulge. practically racing the Soviet Union to Berlin. Not to mention the fact that Britain was losing BADLY before the U.S. came to help.

  • @Lawsondgage I'm an American and I can say that Normandy was dumb luck that we broke through. Against that great of a defense, luck was the only thing the US had over the Germans in that invasion.

  • @Lawsondgage And the other bits only happened because we had a stupid amount of momentum and the Soviet Union was lucky that Hitler had his troops stay in Russia during the winter, practically doing the exact same thing that Napoleon did just over a century beforehand.

  • @SerbianMeerkat here here

  • @SerbianMeerkat I agree with you. I'm an American and this is what I think went down. "The Japanese bombed us! This means war!!! Also, let's go to Europe and shoot some Nazis while we're at it 'cause they're in league with those damn Japs." Then when Germany surrenders. "Sweet! Let's take the credit for us winning cause everyone'll believe that they were helpless until we joined in in about 40 years or so." Some day, I want to leave America cause we're going to be fucked in about 20 years or so.

  • @TehGamingMofo except all of continental europe was shaking in fear of the nazi's and britain was in a desprate struggle helped by us supplies then we came in a us and russia shifted the tide completely. Though pearl harbor was a flimsy reason to go to war against nazi Germany it doesnt seem to bother most people.

  • @lonewolfM16 Of course Europe was in fear of the Nazis. They kept on getting hit by the blitzkrieg and didn't know what to do about it. The USSR were only able to shift the tide because Hitler was being a retard and decided to invade during the winter, which ended up killing most of his troops just like Napoleon just over a century beforehand. The US only shifted the tide because of dumb luck at Normandy causing the rest of the Allies to have a stupid amount of momentum all the way to Berlin.

  • @Lostprophetzzz How many civilians were killed in Libya by RAF Tornados and Typhoons? By the way... Are you military? Do you have personal experience with how soldiers themselves in the combat zone? If not, then I suggest you refrain from commenting on such things as it makes you look like an ignorant tosser.

  • As for Media... you DO realize your biggest media outlet, the BBC, is owned by Her Majesty's Government, right? And that said government is allowed to censor broadcasts by law?

  • I wish we could play as the Helgast....

  • so you think you're having a hard time in video games? I'm german, nuff said.

  • I respect the hell out of Yahtzee and agree with the Brit accent getting tiresome as a "generic bad guy voice", but the next time Her Majesty's Army finds themselves low on weapons, supplies, and fighter pilots in the face of an army hell-bent on world domination, we'll politely remind them of that bit where they kidnapped American citizens and forced them to crew their ships sometime around 1812...

  • @RaderizDorret Kidnapping a few sailors isn't that bad comparing to other war-crimes.

  • @RaderizDorret

And a few of you guys murdered a few THOUSAND vietnamese innocents...

yet you are always the good guys?

also despite us acting as a buffer between you and germany you left us high and dry at the end of the war... to server your own economy...

as britain tried to drag itself back into a decent economic state.

you enjoyed the greatest financial golden age of your history....

  • @Lostprophetzzz Vietnam and WWII were different animals. I'm not saying we wore a white hat in Vietnam. However, were it not for our support from the Lend-Lease program supplying fighters, ammo, and arms plus volunteer pilots such as those who flew with Eagle Squadron, Britain would likely have fallen to the Third Reich. I'm not diminishing what the Brits did in the war, but without our support (which we didn't have to give) the war would have been far bleaker.

  • @Lostprophetzzz Details regarding fighters: we gave the RAF quite a few P-40 Tomahawks and P-39 Airacobras to suppliment the Hurricanes and Spitfires. Between the Adler Tag attacks and the bombings of Britain's factories, the RAF was damn close to being wiped out. And you want to talk about blood on one's hands... how about the Zulu Wars, the Boxer Rebellion, and the Raj?

  • @RaderizDorret we're not free of blood on our hands...

but we don't spend billions on different pieces of media portraying ourselves a gung ho heroes now do we?

and whereas most of our transgressions are long in the past in the imperial age when every country was expanding in this way.

america has far more modern examples.... as recent as iraq...

and despite your donations in ww2 we got by mostly without them...

no country is free of bad blood.

but america have an annoying control of media...

  • @Lostprophetzzz Then I guess Sir Churchill coming to us asking for aid was for no reason whatsoever? That us resupplying you after the rout at Dunkirk was unnecessary? How about this one: Parliamentary Sovereignty. It's this little part of British Government that allows Parliament to overrule fundimental rights by law with no possible recourse for the populace.

  • @RaderizDorret i didn't say we DIDN'T use them.

i said that we got by MOSTLY without them.. they helped. but we would have survived without them... they just made things easier...

in both the case of BBC and the Parliamentiary sovereignity are only used in extreme circumstances....

whereas america is the fucking world capital of censorship....

the BBC very rarely censors anything...

and the parliamentary sovereignity is effectively negated by potential backlash....

  • @Lostprophetzzz "America is the fucking world capital of censorship"? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, that was a good one. Ever heard of China? How about North Korea? And "backlash"? If you've been legislated out of your rights and have no legal recourse, what will you do? Your whole "it can't happen here" tone smacks loudly of quite a few people in Germany circa 1938. Not saying that's what's going on now, but seeing as there's a legal mechanism in place to enact a police state at a moment's notice...

  • @RaderizDorret i'll rephrase that America is the fucking world capital of censorship COMPARED to the united kingdom.

and hitler was able to use that system because he was one very charismatic man (the general population loved him) who had a HELL of a lot more individual political power than any british MP or Prime-minister.

this override of fundamental rights would have an INCREDIBLY hard time getting off the ground through diplomatic procedures

and as for backlash.. RIOTING, ENOUGH SAID.

  • @Lostprophetzzz Bullshit on Hitler. He had less than 30% of the vote. He grabbed power from a mentally invalid predecessor, siimulated a crisis to solidify his power base, and used the SS/Gestapo to enforce his rule. And rioting? Seriously? You mean to tell me a bunch of people with cricket bats will be able to directly take on the SAS (who very well could be called in if things got hairy enough)? And you say Americans have gung-ho issues.

  • @RaderizDorret

alright... i suppose you win this round. that COULD happen...

    but...

the funny thing is.... my arguments are based on the horrible things that america has DONE...

your "arguments" are based on the things that MIGHT eventually happen

you are basing your criticisms on hypothetical bullshit...

EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD has these kinds of loopholes....

    America included...

thing is we don't have one figure with any where near the share of power that the US president has

    so yeah....

  • @Lostprophetzzz American civics 101: The President doesn't have as much power as you think. If he did, then we wouldn't have dropped sanctions on Iran. And now you're imply that we deliberately attacked noncombatants in Iraq? That the civilians themselves were the ones we intended to kill and not the insurgents who have killed far more of them than we have? Then I guess the rules of engagement that say we hold fire when an insurgent ducks into a crowd don't exist.

  • @RaderizDorret You are forgetting this little thing called free will and judgement...

these rules are enforced. but they are closer to procedure than laws.

there is lee-way to these rules. and soldiers often abuse it.

but i would never say that it was your intention to kill civilians...

but sometimes collateral damage can be unreasonably high.

  • @Lostprophetzzz Also, earlier you mentioned that Britain isn't free of blood on your hands, but you seem to act as if you're somehow morally superior to the United States. Rather hypocritical if you ask me... especially for a fan of "Team America", Tom Clancy novels, Band of Brothers, and a host of other media you earlier claimed to despise. And I'm done with this.

  • @RaderizDorret Team America is Satire.... of your ridiculously over interfering guns-blazing methods.

and Tom Clancy is Hypothetical situations,

Brothers in Arms is a great story based on one of the few wars where you weren't the ones in the wrong....

    and about your great country...

    you know SOPA?

despite the fact that it DIDN'T pass due to protests.

the US government still went ahead with it and CLOSED Megaupload... WORLDWIDE....

good to know america still thinks it owns the world.

  • @Lostprophetzzz And you know what diplomatic procedure is? It's Neville Chamberlain declaring "peace in our time".

  • Thank God the British helped the Americans stop the Nazis from invading London!

  • Wait he complains that the firing button is R1? It's always R1 :/

  • Game was made by Guerrilla Games based in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, kind of makes the whole rant at the start null.

  • Hilarious video.

But the flaws mentioned are very inacurate.

PS Move has a learning curve though, it's very different than a controller.

If you take a little bit time to get used to it, you will love it.

    Funny stuff though

  • @FrankDHproductions A learning curve is still problem.

  • @HatersGonnaHate1000 If you have no patience maybe. Many people like having a learning curve.

I got used to it in a couple of hours.

  • dat chest high wall

  • Killzone 3 is worse than shitty black ops

  • Killzone 3 was the first PS3 game I ever played so all those problems seemed normal and whining about would make me sound extra nooby.

  • prefer shooting with R1, just sayin

  • bWTF

  • The developers who made Killzone 3 are Dutch....NOT AMERICAN!!!!!

  • not to mention the whole erasing a species at the end thing. OPPS

  • As an Irishman, the connection between British and bad guys is a solid legit link.

    FOOK

    DA

    POLICE

  • Towards the end i think that the main characters start following their immediate superior's orders not for fear of court martial but they suspect they might be hurting the guy's feelings! LOL Yahtzee FTW :)

  • No.

Killzone is not made in America. It's European. What PS3 game (other than Half Life) has the triggers (R2 and L2) as shoot!? They're ALL R1 and L1, because (and I ADMIT this) R2 and L2 are shite buttons for shooting without those 'Real Triggers'. Just about every shooter (or even game) nowadays has a 'swap L1 and L2' option. The crouch button in Killzone is... not an issue...? I don't see why having a control scheme that doesn't match COD is a negative thing... also it can be changed, too.

  • the americans did not make killzone

  • @xboxgamer9991 i thought that the Americans were the good guys in this, isn't that the point ?

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't America help defeat the Germans in WW2? Germany was no threat to America, who was isolationist until Pearl Harbor, by which point the Nazi's had taken over a large portion of Europe already. The English were already fighting against them and then finally America came in and helped beat the Nazis that the British were already fighting. So saying that Brittan "helped" beat the Germans is inaccurate. Brittan defeated the Nazis, but it was America who "helped".

  • @InfiniteGXT Russia defeated the Germans, the other countries just slowly pushed to Germany after the Soviets had raped it so that they could make up the policies for Germany afterwards is how I see it

  • @SerxhoThe yeah that's another way to look at it. I just don't think it makes sense to say that Brittan "helped" America defeat a country that was an imminent threat to Brittan and not America. So saying that "next time England wont help America defeat the Nazis" is stupid because the Nazis weren't fighting the Americans, they were fighting the English. lol

  • @InfiniteGXT Americans helped, but I think America was mostly against the Japanese because of Pearl Harbor

  • I almost pissed myself @ the cat herding brigade lmfao

  • I love when he looks at the viewer and goes, "Maybe we won't next time, America."

  • GOD I LOVE THIS. :D

  • THANKYOU I’m so sick of the English accent being over used for the bad guys in media.

  • @scream4thehellofit actuly the hellghastwernt bad guys they were fighting for their freedom and earth was trying to take all the hellghast resources n such its kinda like the american revoluton

  • @Michael00189 yeah, its kinda like Startship Troopers, huh

  • @Michael00189 Oh well okay, depends how you look at it then eh

  • @Michael00189 More like what's happening in the middle east.

  • @wesker919 which war in the midle east?

  • @Michael00189 Suuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrreeeeeeeee. Like you don't know.

  • @wesker919 lybia iraq afganistan iran

  • @scream4thehellofit i agree, but british people do make really good main antagonists!

  • @scream4thehellofit I'm Irish but I agree. Americans think they're the "good guys" but I'd LOVE to see a game where the US of wank are the bad guys.

  • @locsaretheshit fuck im from America and id love to see a game where america are the bad guys...kinda like in real lif-what?! who said that dont take me away my freedom loving government noooo....

  • @1234raistlin I wish more Americans were like you then. I can't help but picture them as Patriotic idiots. I'm from Ireland but I don't suck dick over the government, in fact I hate the government.

  • @scream4thehellofit And Romans/Greeks. Seriously, I think "Italian" when I think of Greek. Romans are... well lots of things technically.

  • i didnt see this one before
