Kawasaki bikes have been eating vettes for lunch since the mid 70's. When they started putting high revving in-line 4's on bikes, cars became old news when it comes to acceleration.
ya i love 10Rs and i love LS vettes or camaros but if that bike has 170 to the wheel the vette would need 750+ at the wheel and a good driver... cause if hes even winning in a wheelie then that thing screws!

I have an 04 zx10. The 04-05 are dubbed one of the nastiest power delivery liter bikes built to date! I did however have an black rx7 stay a few bike length behind me toying on the highway, I am 176 at the wheel, so far from stock. Funny thing about it was the car had all the money in the motor, the outside was trashed and had tape holding up an headlight! Lol, caught me off guard!
@mbechtold1 You're right. I just bought a 04 ZX10 just to see what it was like. It is faster than my 05 Gixxer 750 that I had before it but it doesn't shock me with unbelieveable acceleration like I anticipated. Since its lowered its pretty hard to get a wheelie truthfully.
I'm pretty sure the car vs. bike battle was put to rest in the November 2009 issue of Super Streetbike. The stock ZX-14 owned everything, but they said the Viper would have caught the ZX shortly after 120 mph. If you haven't read that article, its a STOCK ZX-14 vs. a bunch of cars while doing a 60-120 roll. The fastest car being a Viper with 950hp and the bike still wins. Car lovers can talk all the shit they want, but in the end a STOCK Busa/14 will smoke 99% of cars on the road.

@taylororbust Gauges done with some taste are actually one of the most benificial things you can buy for your car once you start pushing some power. It helps identify problems before they end up costing you a fortune to fix. I have a big turbo in my MkIV pushing 25psi and I absolutely had to get an exhaust temp guage, oil temp, and boost gauge. Gauges are the most accurate way to tell whats going on with your engine. The scoop though...yeah thats just tacky.

Also they never mentioned what tires the bike was on which is more important to a bike than a car, wonder why they didn't specify

my dad has the 04 zx10r, exactly the same as that one, im positive ive seen this video before but from a different person and he told me the car had 730rwhp at the time of the film. Yes maybe more now and the traction control issue, racing a bike, you would turn it off because that kind of power is all about SKILL!! TC would have made the vette even slower.
They put a stock R1 vs a 600 hp GT Porsche at Phillip Island a few years ago and the R1 beat it fair and square. The rider was an Aussie Superbike Champ, and the driver was a competitor in the Aussie GT Championship series. You need a real good car to beat a bike. Bikes generally have it in the power-to-weight department.

With some simple fuel mapping boxes, a Busa or ZZR-1400 could easily go over 200 mph. Put a turbo on them and they'll easily pump out 300-400 rwhp with very good reliability too. Then in 2006 Kawasaki bought Suzuki back out and they have been separate since. The 2006 Gixer is the BEST Suzuki could do to answer for the ZX10R... But, you cant beat Kawasaki's motor for power and torque...

@redeiko0713 im not sure.. they didnt really get into too many details about the bike in the actual article either. i mean its mostly a car magazine, so for them to be giving alot of praise to a bike in an article with Ferrari involved would be a little against their style. in fact the outcome of the test even surprised me. the strip is one thing, i knew where that was going.. but the Duc impressed me on just how well it performed, with the proper rider of ourse.

my dad has the 04 zx10r, exactly the same as that one, im positive ive seen this video before but from a different person and he told me the car had 730rwhp at the time of the film. Yes maybe more now and the traction control issue, racing a bike, you would turn it off because that kind of power is all about SKILL!! TC would have made the vette even slower.

They put a stock R1 vs a 600 hp GT Porsche at Phillip Island a few years ago and the R1 beat it fair and square. The rider was an Aussie Superbike Champ, and the driver was a competitor in the Aussie GT Championship series. You need a real good car to beat a bike. Bikes generally have it in the power-to-weight department.

If it hadn;t been for that 300 kmh speed limit,i am sure that todays' motorbikes could easily achieve over 310 kmh.Imagine that back in 2000,the Suzuki Hayabuse could achieve over 305 kmh i think.So with todays' improved technology and all these electronics,we could reach over 310 kmh.I think i remember that the MV Augusta F4 312R has achieved 312 kmh on a track.Awesome!

@MDIVISIONRULES True bro. It's real easy to over-ride the speed limiters on bikes these days. There are many plug in boxes available. With some simple fuel mapping boxes, a Busa or ZZR-1400 could easily go over 200 mph. Put a turbo on them and they'll easily pump out 300-400 rwhp with very good reliability too. I have this bike... 2004 Kawasaki ZX10R...
185HP and 170 to the wheel, weighs 370lbs WET...
I have mine geared and it will do 109 MPH in first gear while redlining @ 14,500 rpm, and tops out at 208MPH...

Suzuki bought into Kawasaki in 2002 and produced the ZX10R in 2003 as a prototype, then in 2004 brought it to the streets. Its Suzuki's engineering and Kawasaki's Power that made this the BEST street bike EVER MADE.
