Interesting enough, however when attacking sony, they didn't hit sony directly. Apparently the first hackers found their way through Amazon.com and routed through a backdoor into Sony's network. Though it wasn't just PSN that was hit. It was PSN and Sony's main servers. Though on the one user's question about Microsoft and XBox, they've been getting hit as well, Sony's not alone. Though they haven't been compromised, both Microsoft and Nintendo have been getting hit by a lot of exploit attempts.

I am so disappointed with the Welcome Back package. I was trying to get my second free game and my ps3 said an error occurred and now I can not get the game. I emailed PlayStation and they haven't responded or done anything.

Well it can't really happen to xbox can it? Playstation lets you go on web pages but with 360 you can only go to Microsoft sites or websites that Microsoft allows, so it's almost impossible for it to get hacked, isn't it? I'm not being a stupid fanboy I am trying to use logic, and don't respond to me with hate, if you're gonna reply simply agree or use logic yourself to explain how it cannot be hacked in the same manner.

@Diggler397 This is a great question – security issues are blurred throughout the use of websites, browsers, personal computers (& smart phones) & game devices like the PlayStation & Xbox. The PSN breach was an attack on the Sony data center, not the game devices themselves. While it is very possible for game devices to be compromised the analogous situation would be for Microsoft’s game sites (data center) to be hacked & any info (like credit cards) that you might have there would be stolen.

You may have seen the fact that Lockheed (a major supplier of military information and hardware to the US government) was recently broken into. Lockheed is probably one of the most secure sites in the world. So yes, it is possible for anyone, including Microsoft, to be breached...

@xBl00dBrothersX You don't do it via e-mail. Just sign into your PSN from your console and go to the Playstation store. You can pick 2 free PS3 games and 2 free PSP games as well as a limited free Playstation Plus membership. This is also per PSN account, not just per PS3, which means that if you had multiple accounts then you can probably pick up everything on the list.

i already got two e-mails from a fake sony e-mail account. The second e-mail offered me two free games and other stuff as a way of like saying thanks for remaining a customer of sony or something like that. Obviously fake - sony would never give out 2 free games to everyone just like that!
