  • And Jesus allowed to worship himself in his visible form.

  • Also it was said that Jesus was the image of God himself. He says who saw me, saw the Father.

  • God comanded Moses and Aron to make a tabernacle and arc of covenant with the images of angels on it, and priest and people to worship it.

  • I'll try to visit one day the Orthodox church in Manila.

  • Why are so many Orthodox violent and/or rude, Christ teaches us to be forgiving and peaceful... I've never seen in the bible anything like "*!@$% you!"

  • maybe those people as a race are barbaric and happen to be christian, or is the other way around? Boratistan has simply displayed that he has nothing to say so he/she curses!

  • hahahahaha I didnt say I had a problem with your church, the commandments of the bible mention that "though shall not make unto to thee any graven image", Isnt that what Martin Luther was fighting for? And the same christians have the nerve to criticise Indian religions for idolatory?

  • Martin Luther was fighting to get back the 2nd commandment because the Catholics got rid of it. The Orthodox Church never did that. We are not Catholics, which is something Protestants like to think. We never had a reformation either. We don't worship icons anymore than you worship stain glass windows or Thomas Kinkade paintings. If you want to know what icons actually are, go to another source besides Jack Chick.

  • Thou shall not make graven image, and worship it. It's not only "not make graven image". It's followed by saying "not bowing and worshipping it". Because if it's making graven image only, then it will be that God himself didn't follow his own commandment for commanding Moses, Solomon and others to make graven images themselves.

Actually, it's not GRAVEN IMAGE per se but worshipping of the image is what God doesn't want us to do. It's with the commandment "thou shall not have other gods".

  • 2 things: one, God Himself ordered the making of images and two, if God did so, then the obvious point of the Second Commandment is not to make images of false gods, not the making of images per se. The Second Commandment is connected with the First--not to have any other God but Himself.

So then, does this mean that the holy icons are images of false gods? Not unless one thinks that Jesus Himself is a false god, since we do have icons of Him as well as the saints.

  • So is the use of icons any different than the use of fake speaking in tongues and the thinking that your pastors are miracles. i won't judge your church if you won't judge mine.

  • Amen to that!!

  • It is idolatry if they are worshipping the idols, but they are not. So as we catholics. Good day brothers and sisters in the orthodox faith. Your churches are really great. Praise God Hallelujah! :)

  • Εἰρήνη σοί, my friend.

  • People in Orthodoxy do not pray to Icons. Praying to icons and expecting the Icons do something would be Idol worship.

  • No but you kiss the icons perhaps thinking those Icons are the saints themselves or is it symbolic? And is symbolism permitted broadly in christianity?

  • How wonderful Orthoxod churches are, I am very proud. Where abouts is this particular church?

  • Dear God,

Please open the eyes of Russia. They say that they believe in You, praise You and adore You, yet they persecute me and my church for serving You. They build High Places for You, yet they demolished my church.

Dear God, my church has no place to gather to worship you. All has been taken away from us. In deep tears I live through my day.

Dear God, when I die, just promise me one thing. Promise me that You will meet me. Please God, because I am afraid of the Holy Russia.

  • Hey, who are you and who does persecute you? Here in Russia even Aum Sinrikeu is not perrsecuted, only the oligarchs and the opposition=)

  • What Faith are you, you Do not know Russia, you are a paranoid.

  • Orthodox brothers for ever,

  • Greetings from Bulgaria,my orthodox brothers!

  • I admire the Orthodox church even though I am Catholic, but seeing since Catholicism and Orthodoxy have such common beliefs.

  • Awsome! i love being a member of the orthodox faith and seeing this makes me more proud to be a part of it. Thanks for posting!

  • Yes,orthodox churches are the most beatiful:)

  • this song is carpatho-russian(ukrainian)Christmas folk song called heaven and earth....

  • Great video! I'm not Russian Orthodox, I stick with the Greek Orthodox, but I've had some pretty good Russian Orthodox friends. You've gotta stick close to your Orthodox and Catholic brothers when surrounded by Mormons :)

  • How lovely! Thanks for posting!

  • Why did we Catholics become such idiots...bless the Orthdox!

  • haha, well you can't be too critical, Catholics had some rough times. I go to school with basically all Catholics, and I find them to be closer brothers in faith than anyone. (Then again, I'm surrounded by Mormons...)

  • Utah?

  • Lol, yeah

  • I think he's refering to the catholic loss of all the traditions since de 60's. After all the catholic tradition was ancient and beautifyl, but couldnt keep it as the orthodox.

  • we are both part of the original Apostolic church, we are brothers.

  • Great orthodoxy

  • Thank you very much for this beautiful tour.
