The choir is not blending with each other, and the band is not blending with each other, therefore the two do not blend together. How old are you guys. In order to achieve a more mature sound, lift your soft palates and shape your vowels taller. Also it would help to have support from your lower abdominus muscle. Just some tips. Post some of your other performances.

chior is mostly 6th 7th graders. band is 7th 8th

Oh, well then the choir did well for their age. It's hard to achieve a mature sound when you're that young. And I guess the band did okay, too, it's just that I'm used to hearing perfection. I go to American Fork High School, and we've won many awards for being one of the best in Utah.
