The guy yelling and trying to interrupt is such a total asshole. You do not have to like Obama or utterly anything he stands for, but at least be respectful to the students at THEIR commencement.
This was a great speech!! I never viewed it until now. While I know Obama is wrong on abortion since the baby is alive in the womb, I think there are many other excellent characteristics in Obama. While I cannot vote for Obama, I do admire him. My only wish is that the university had stated firmly the sin involved in abortion first and then award him the honorary degree.

This was an excellent speech by the President, in my opinion what the abortion debate in this country needs on both sides are men like President Obama and the President of Notre Dame who are able to disagree with one another on this issue without deomonizing each other and thus working towards the common goal of lowering the number of abortions that take place in America. Yeah I see what you mean. I'm a rather recent Catholic convert. My family is protestant and our very big Obama suppourters. I have been watching a lot videos about Catholocism and those discussing abortion strongly disagreed with Obama. It was Father Jenkins, the president of Notredame, who asked him to speak. I guess I really can't blame Obama, but I still that abortion is major issue that should be looked at.

Hi imroc. I am Catholic. However, I am not God. I don't like to mix church and state. I live my life conservatively but I vote like a liberal. I believe in a woman's right to choose, gay rights, stem cell research, donating organs, and the death penalty. I am also not biased against other religions. As for who enters the kingdom of heaven I'll let God decide that. If the way I choose to vote is my damnation (which I doubt) but if it is that is between me and my God.

It is not our place to judge others... this is only done by the authority of God Himself. Therefore, as a Christian, I recognize many things as sins and try not to participate in them, but I am a sinner and can not judge others. Let us remember that Jesus was on the cross dying and still was able to utter the words, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." People need to start listening to the words of our savior before they defend them, lest they contradict them.

This was an excellent speech by the President, in my opinion what the abortion debate in this country needs on both sides are men like President Obama and the President of Notre Dame who are able to disagree with one another on this issue without deomonizing each other and thus working towards the common goal of lowering the number of abortions that take place in America. I find it kind of funny in a very very depressing way that a couple days after anti-war president Barack Obama took office he bombed Pakistan and killed a bunch of civilians.

Obama is hardly different from Bush. Their foreign and domestic policies are nearly identical. Obama's rhetoric is just better, which does at least do some good. It's just rhetoric though. He hasn't brought any real change yet and doesn't plan on it either.
