This version is definitely better. Jeff holds the notes much longer and has a much smoother resonance throughout the song. They are both good, but this one has that extra emotion and clarity in his voice, especially that first "my face" where he belts it out.

They put it on a few compilation cds of his. The version used probably wasn't meant to be the one there, but thats the one they decided was probably closest to what it would've been, imo tho. But i'll admit, the more i listen to the Aus version the more i like it. :-D But... well... thats the same thing that applies to ALL of his songs lol.

I saw Jeff in Memphis,Tn at a dive bar downtown, about 2 months before he died. He played this on acoustic and alot of stuff that was not out yet that would eventually be on Skeches for My Sweetheart The Drunk. I was playing in a metal band at the time and this performance totally changed my perspective on music. I look back almost 13 years later and realize how much of an impact he's still making on me.
