I wish that most of the Islamic videos I find on YouTube weren't insufferably loud, with what I can only assume are Islamic 'hymns' playing in the background (and some with crazy sound effects and video filters too).

Can anyone direct me to info on peaceful Islam for a current non-believer, without the (off-putting) bells and whistles?

i have not been a good muslim recently..but when i was younger i would always wake up and pray fajr,. then wait till the sun comes up and just stare at the sky...until now I cant find a more pleasurable feeling. I think Muslims are generally good people and they are just in denial about the parts of the quran (and hadith) which megatown focuses on which motivate hate. It is not ok to miss any salat, since they are a pillar and foundation of one's Islam. All prayers have an extreme importance but this video deals specifically with the importance of Fajr prayer. There's lots of lectures/videos on Youtube and elsewhere on the net dealing with the topic of the importance of salat in general, so you can look for those if you're interested.
