Wait, how does Cortana know the Covenant ships have always been faster if she's only shortly on the ship? That got me to wonder even more, why did they trust forerunner technology, which they know almost nothing about, to run their ship?

@Gnasni Because it's known information to the UNSC. The Covie's ALWAYS had faster and stronger ships then the UNSC...it didn't matter that the Pillar of Autumn was refitted to be more awesome. The Covenant being faster was just a fact of life.

this is actually a couple weeks after reach, there is a time lapse of a couple weeks between the jump from reach to the ring. They were traveling at light speed for a while

@Noxyus17 This is probably not going to happen, though. Bungie is now independent of Microsoft and they have stated that Reach will be the last official game in the Halo series. A remake of the first two Halo games would only serve as a financial gain for Microsoft and not a creative gain for Bungie. Since they're looking to explore new ventures in gaming, they won't be doing this for quite some time if it actually happens.
