I come from a capitalist perspective but can see that this hybrid system we have today -- privatized profits; socialized losses -- is the worst of both worlds.

Yes, we have the technology and means to solve most of the worlds major problems but the corruption is endemic

I also believe we -- the little people -- are equally to blame because we ALLOW politicians to lie and we ALLOW corporations to rip us off for fear that if the big boys go, so does our wealth.

this is nothing new, it is inherent in this system. the workers pay for the crisis of the system. when the cycle is in boom, the bosses/bankers etc want no regulation to ruin the party,

then when the cycle turns to bust they want 'help' and call for regulation. the next boom will come and all the regulation will be dismantled for the orgy of profits. the workers don't really benefit from the boom, wages in america have been stagnant for over 20 years. the boom is based on SUPER exploitation of labour, squeezing more out of them
