  • Good swap dro. Like the engine cover check my swap out on my 94

  • hey how do you do the wiring on the conversion? I have a 93 1500 and i found a 5.3 for 500.00 with 117,ooo on it out of a 2000 suburban. I'm very mechanicaly, but just not that up to date on wiring. any advice would be greatly appr.

  • @gearheadhuff There's not really a way to put it simply. You just have to pull out your diagrams and dispose one by one the wires you dont need. Then add a fuse block and fuse the the systems that need to be like igntion coils, etc. Then connect your factory systems like ignition switch and fuel system.

  • @gearheadhuff I'm not good with wiring so I got one of my GM tech buddies to do it since hes good with wiring. You can buy one already setup for standalone for ~$450 if you dont want to mess with it.

  • That truck is gorgeous! Sounds awesome! Great Job!!!

  • that sounds evil

  • That's a nice setup with a 5 3! I been wanting to do that the same thing to my 98 chevy silverado. You think you can give me a call my # is 9125905865

  • @lowP0919 heyy i need help finding what i need to install a ls engine in my 1998 1500..

  • do you think doing a 6.0 swap is worth it over the 5.3 price/power/etc ??

    thanks

  • @zayres29 Personally, no. The marginal benefit from a 6.0 over a 5.3 does not outweigh the cost. Ready to fun 5.3s can be found for less than $500 while its hard to find a long block 6.0 for that.

  • @flattopwill thanks for the reply i have seen (locally) a 6.0 with trans and harness (not sure if it was 60e or 80e) for as little as 850

  • @zayres29 Thats a good deal. Take it.

  • @flattopwill if i can find another at the price or close i will but i will def keep the 5.3 in mind is it basically the same swap for the 2?

  • @zayres29 is what the same?

  • @flattopwill swapping the 6.0 and the 5.3 i know they are both ls based but didnt know if they were completely different or not

  • @zayres29 They are the same block (except bore) if thats what youre asking.

  • @flattopwill yeah thats what i meant

    thanks again

  • oh my..

  • how do you like that RevMax Converter?

  • @mandrgalvan

I dont have any other high stall converter to compare it to but I have had no problems with it.

  • What did you paint it with? Looks decent satin black !!

Also have a 91 2wd scsb that I'd like to LSX but I've got other projects. Props on the nice work :)

  • @N0XI0USB4C

    Its just black primer/sealer

  • change your air intake setup its robbing you atleast 15hp

  • what's up man clean n sounds good i have a 93 gmc how u did it with d transmission hook up and all the wiring let me know. 93gmctruck1

  • what's up man clean n sounds good i have a 93 chevy how u did it with d transmission hook up and all the wiring let me know.

  • I have a 95 chevy swb, that currently has the crummy 4.3 in it and i am looking at doing a swap to a 5.3 like this, or a corvette ls1, how difficult is this to accomplish?, wiring, fuel pump, mounts, etc. any info would be greatly appreciated. The truck sounds nice as hell by the way.

  • @hemnkyjr

All the swap info can be found at the ls1truck.com forum. You have to have a stand alone wiring harness which is made using a modified stock harness. You can modify it yourself or buy one from a swap company. The mounts were easy for me since I was coming from a 5.7l v8. A v6 truck will take some more work. You will need a fuel pump from a 96-98 vortec truck to give the new engine 55psi at the rail. All the details and more can be found at ls1truck.com

  • VERY Clean

  • sounds good, How are the ls6 springs holding up to the cam? I have been looking at cams for my 5.3 swapped s10, I already have ls6 springs but just want to make sure I won't have to replace them every 30k miles.

  • @krboer Well I havent put any more than probably 4000 miles on it but everything is holding fine. No problems to report.

  • Nice truck!!

  • All you do is leave those wires in tact when you cut out the old stuff. Then, after the new motor is in you just plug them back in. A/C, gauges, and dash controls arent dependent upon the ECM. For the A/C you have to buy an aftermarket mounting bracket for the compressor.

  • how did you do your wiring harness for your ac and dash controls, gauges

  • nice. what kind of power? any 1/4 runs?

  • that's a nice sound and nice cam.

  • the factory cup mounts with Trans Dapt 4572 adapter plates

  • what motor mounts did you use?

  • Not at all

  • nice truck! was it hard to put that engine in that truck?

  • NICE!
