@texasrangersr1 yes mate its like the harrier it was a British Invention but the US made their own version to better themselves in their working environment and the USA claimed that this harrier was as US invention we have done the same with the Apache made our own version and called it our own improved it in alot of aspects may i add from the US version i believe its called the Apache Longbow and its currently patrolling the skies of Afghanistan supporting troops on the ground..

I was trying to describe to my girlfriend how powerful and scary this thing is and the best way I could put it was the fallowing, "It's kinda like a tank except it flys, can be very quiet, and can see you from very veerrrrry far away." She doesn't know much about this stuff but she just said she's glad that we came up with it.
Apache has the greater payload, greater chance of survivability, greater range, greater electronics and subsystems... The only thing the black shark does better is manuverability and speed. But it's cons outweigh them.
Plus, which one has been used on the battlefield successfully for many years? And which one is just a one off that was never produced in any quantity? Yeah, Ka-50 has nothing on this.
@peepeevagi In last 30yrs US military havent faced any modern military, all of US fights has been against some camel riding AK47 users, even man flied glider whit sub machine gun could do same job. Gliding and Speed are the most important things for chopper survivalability and Ka-50 beats apache in all classes.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO Not only is the Ka-50 poorly armored and being phased out, it's being replaced by the Mi-28. Which is akin to normal attack helicopters. Has armor to take hits, greater payload, and manuverability.
Come to think of it, there's nothing the Ka-50 can do that the Apache and Mi-28 cant, save for dashing speed (And it couldn't maintain that speed for very long before it shook it's self apart).
The Ka-50 is a relic of a bygone era :/ Worth fuck all on a modern battlefield.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO The most important thing is, especially as guidance systems in missiles and accuracy of guns improves, a helicopter must be able to take hits. Speed becomes less important to survivability, and the Apache is still plenty fast enough to do it's job properly.
Plus there's only a single pilot for it. A single pilot who has to operate everything with a suuuuper poor field of view (The protoype didn't even have side windows lol). That's how you have accidents.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO And something that's just as important to maneuverability and speed is a gun. Without a good one with a wide angle of fire, your chopper is much more useless. Modern helicopters have such things. The Ka-50 had no such thing.
The Ka-50 has a gun strapped to it's side, that could only aim up and down. So it had to be facing a target, and still to lay gunfire onto it. Granted it was designed a tank killer, but so was the Apache.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO So the absolute only thing the Ka-50 had going for it was speed and manuverability. Speed was the only thing it did vastly better. And that's why it's in limited service as a forward spotter on the battlefield. It's not even an attack helicopter anymore. It's a recon machine >.>
So now they're not even in the same class of helicopter anymore. It's meant to take pictures and run, while the apache is to stay and fight. Apache is better in it's class :3

It doesn't matter how modern it is, it can still be lethal. It's why we use the .50 cal today, even though the design is almost 100 years old. RPG's, though they have to be jury rigged to to it, are ancient too and yet they're fairly effective. A 14.5mm armed Zpu can seriously ruin A Ka-50's day. The Apache is a little harder to tear up.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO And a BTR has an autocannon that has limited AA ability. Plus a faster firing MG. Some T72's had a turret-top mounted AA MG. Mind you these are all things that can destroy a Black shark, but can do little more than Damage an Apache(Which is designed to take hits, and has a crapton of armor by comparison).
Learn a little bit about weapons and how effective they are, and then get back to me.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO The Ka-50, to get a shot with it's gun, has to get that close. And 14.5mm has an even further effective range. And then there's the widespread use of Russian 23mm AA(Everyone's got a Shaiika lol), which goes even further, and generally uses explosive ammunition.
Armor matters is my point. And when you virtually have none, and are facing down rapid-fire death from below, it's not a good thing lol. Apache has armor, therefore it wins :D

And the important bit of being an all around attack helicopter is having an able gun. Missiles are missiles, and they're a whole different story. What's to compare when you're hanging back and hitting a painted target?

No helicopter is immune to AAA, but the Apache has armor that's resistant to it, and it can take a few hits. Whereas with the Ka-50 cant take a single hit from some of the larger AAA like 20 and 23mm. You cant just assume you can avoid everything being thrown at you, and thus armor is a viable trade off for speed and manuverability.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO And when you consider how nimble attack helicopters really are, no real manuverability is lost. And that Ka-50's outright speed negates it's ability to fit adequate armor. And when there's so few of them, so ill protected, it's kind of silly to think it's superior to something built in great numbers, is well armored, and has a gun that can do more than aim up and down.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO And considering what all the Apache has faced, which is all more than enough of a threat to a helicopter regardless of how old it may be and who's using it, it's easily the more battle proven of the two. Not to mention it wasn't ever designed to see sand, which will brutally east up your engines, and yet they were able to fly through it (taking damage since you dont know how to assume things) and tough it out, it only adds to it's superior durability.
@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO The fact is that their armaments are comparable in destructive power, and the Ka-50 is more powerful. But the Apache is just as maneuverable, can carry a heavier, more accurate payload, has a gun that can do more than aim just up and down, superior electronics, superior armor, and a better crew layout.
Apache is better in more places, and just as able where the Ka-50 bests it. Not as fast, but hey, speed kills :P

It missile range doesn't mean squat, it's guns are definitely NOT as accurate (Impossible since there's no seperate gunner and since it cant aim left and right short of rotating the entire body), Our Unguded rockets are more accurate and just as powerful, and our electronics suite is undoubtedly better.

It was an excellent tank killer design, one that far surpasses the Apache. But as far as being a multirole Attack helicopter, the Apache is better on all fronts. And Russia phasing the Black shark out for a traditional Attack helicopter only furthers my point.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO None of those aircraft are Ka-50's. The only Attack helicopters they're procuring during their rearmament are Mi-28's and Ka-52's. And the onlything that the Ka-50 and Ka-52 share is the form. Underneath they're almost entirely different Helicopters. Making your whole argument moot. The Ka-52 is an entirely adequate machine. Pity it's only a stopgap for the Mi-28.
And did you even look into what it was built to do? It's primarily a recon machine to relay targets lol.

Apache has the greater payload, greater chance of survivability, greater range, greater electronics and subsystems... The only thing the black shark does better is manuverability and speed. But it's cons outweigh them.
Plus, which one has been used on the battlefield successfully for many years? And which one is just a one off that was never produced in any quantity? Yeah, Ka-50 has nothing on this.

Gliding and Speed are the most important things for chopper survivalability and Ka-50 beats apache in all classes.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO Not only is the Ka-50 poorly armored and being phased out, it's being replaced by the Mi-28. Which is akin to normal attack helicopters. Has armor to take hits, greater payload, and manuverability.
Come to think of it, there's nothing the Ka-50 can do that the Apache and Mi-28 cant, save for dashing speed (And it couldn't maintain that speed for very long before it shook it's self apart).
The Ka-50 is a relic of a bygone era :/ Worth fuck all on a modern battlefield.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO The most important thing is, especially as guidance systems in missiles and accuracy of guns improves, a helicopter must be able to take hits. Speed becomes less important to survivability, and the Apache is still plenty fast enough to do it's job properly.
Plus there's only a single pilot for it. A single pilot who has to operate everything with a suuuuper poor field of view (The protoype didn't even have side windows lol). That's how you have accidents.

The Ka-50 has a gun strapped to it's side, that could only aim up and down. So it had to be facing a target, and still to lay gunfire onto it. Granted it was designed a tank killer, but so was the Apache.

And that's why it's in limited service as a forward spotter on the battlefield. It's not even an attack helicopter anymore. It's a recon machine >.>
So now they're not even in the same class of helicopter anymore. It's meant to take pictures and run, while the apache is to stay and fight. Apache is better in it's class :3

It doesn't matter how modern it is, it can still be lethal. It's why we use the .50 cal today, even though the design is almost 100 years old. RPG's, though they have to be jury rigged to to it, are ancient too and yet they're fairly effective. A 14.5mm armed Zpu can seriously ruin A Ka-50's day. The Apache is a little harder to tear up.

Armor matters is my point. And when you virtually have none, and are facing down rapid-fire death from below, it's not a good thing lol. Apache has armor, therefore it wins :D

No helicopter is immune to AAA, but the Apache has armor that's resistant to it, and it can take a few hits. Whereas with the Ka-50 cant take a single hit from some of the larger AAA like 20 and 23mm. You cant just assume you can avoid everything being thrown at you, and thus armor is a viable trade off for speed and manuverability.
Apache has adequate armor. Ka-50 does not.

Not to mention it wasn't ever designed to see sand, which will brutally east up your engines, and yet they were able to fly through it (taking damage since you dont know how to assume things) and tough it out, it only adds to it's superior durability.

But the Apache is just as maneuverable, can carry a heavier, more accurate payload, has a gun that can do more than aim just up and down, superior electronics, superior armor, and a better crew layout.
Apache is better in more places, and just as able where the Ka-50 bests it. Not as fast, but hey, speed kills :P

protected for .50cal and 22 AA ricochets, faster in total better maneuverability.
Longer range whit AT missiles
More accurated machine guns
More 80mm rockets than apache has 70mm rockets.
same computer capability if not even better.
Well let the numbers speaks for it self, even Ka-50 is heavier than apache it actually can carry more ammunition than apache without compromising speed.
Best attack chopper made so far.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO That's some really weak protection, it's not even resistant to the standard 14.5mm AAA used everywhere.
It missile range doesn't mean squat, it's guns are definitely NOT as accurate (Impossible since there's no seperate gunner and since it cant aim left and right short of rotating the entire body), Our Unguded rockets are more accurate and just as powerful, and our electronics suite is undoubtedly better.
There's no comparison, the apache is better.

@peepeevagi ZU-23-2 wouldnt call that as weak AA weapon, even its unaccurated. But ya that was just example of 22-23mm AA weapons.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO And if the Ka-50 is so great, why is Russia replacing it entirely as an attack helicopter? And why did they build it in so few numbers?
It was an excellent tank killer design, one that far surpasses the Apache. But as far as being a multirole Attack helicopter, the Apache is better on all fronts. And Russia phasing the Black shark out for a traditional Attack helicopter only furthers my point.
It's not the best Attack helicopter in any light.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO And for all the "Not having faced a modern army" crap you put out, the KA-50 actually never faced a modern army. It's only ever faced insurgents, and been used for supporting fire. Whereas the Apache has actually faced other armored vehicles, Anti aircraft fire, and things that can actually put up a fight.
The Ka-50 has never faced anything that would give it trouble, it's hardly even battle proven.

Russia is producing new version(s) of ka-50. reason why Ka-50 havent seen that much real battles is quite obvious, russion doesnt raid 3rd world countrys.

@MCH4RSK1HCPAALLIKKO None of those aircraft are Ka-50's. The only Attack helicopters they're procuring during their rearmament are Mi-28's and Ka-52's. And the onlything that the Ka-50 and Ka-52 share is the form. Underneath they're almost entirely different Helicopters. Making your whole argument moot. The Ka-52 is an entirely adequate machine. Pity it's only a stopgap for the Mi-28.
And did you even look into what it was built to do? It's primarily a recon machine to relay targets lol.
