  • Hey Jim, great video I love the Satriani soundtrack!!!

  • @cochrab Thanks!

  • @Freewayjim

Whats the title of the song?

  • @GuillermoTemblalanza Summer Song By Joe Satriani, it's listed right under the view counter.

  • @Freewayjim

    Thanks!

  • Hey Freeway Jim Thanks for the compliment about Baltimore. What bridge are you referring to in Baltimore? The largest bridge is the cheseapeake that connects the eastern shore of Maryland to the western shore. It is a very Beutiful drive that I think you would enjoy.

  • @LorenzoMoore1000 -The Key Bridge (I-695 East of the city) I have it on video twice I think.

  • Hey freeway Jim. I just want to thank you for this video I am from Baltimore MD. And Our freeway systtem is nowhere near as fun to drive as Atlanta. Keep them coming.

  • @LorenzoMoore1000 -Thanks, I must admit, I think Baltimore is a pretty fun place to drive around. You have two tunnels, a large bridge and I-83 is a blast to drive in minimal traffic.

  • OMG...

  • I remember I always used to be so exited when I went on the spaghetti junction as a kid, lol.

  • i drive on 285 E everyday to go to school and i swear right there at the 85 exit is the worst part of my drive. it is always so backed up

  • Wow, that's very impressive, I drive from France to Germany every day for work and at moments I can drive 105 mph on a two lane autobahn, but this Junction would motivate me to wear pampers, lol I sure would get lost more than once... :o)

  • Don't Americans have lane discipline?

  • @AndyBearman not in atlanta they dont!

  • @AndyBearman Nope, no really. I've seen some crazy driving there. What's even scarier is most of these people have a cell phone glued to their ear as they zig zag through.

  • @AndyBearman ,,,,Its the USA not Europe,,,,Was in the Army and stationed in Germany and even with the speed of which one can travel on certian stretches of the Autobahns. It absolutley boring as can be with the locked in rule to keep to right all the time. Pick a lane any lane and go....and change lanes when and how needed to negotiate traffic. Follow, follow, follow,,,thats the Eurpopean way....Screw that..get out front and ahead of the accidents that are going to happen as they always do.

  • Jim, you're my kind of 'sick'.

    Excellent videographer-historian.

Anytime I'm feeling nostalgic for my time spent in Dunwoody, Georgia all I need do is to review your videos.

    Thanks man.

  • Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy them.

  • the music is rediculous

    what up sandy springs!!

    johnsons ferry rd.

  • I remember the cloverleaf version of the interchange when I was a kid in the '70's. Back then, the Northeast Expressway Drive-In Movie Theater was adjacent to it. Part of the drive-in's land was taken for the ramp from I-285 north (counter-clockwise, really) to I-85 north.

  • Yes, that's exactly right, now there is a small soccer stadium where the drive-in used to be.

  • goodness. this is the attention to detail i love about your videos, you put in some hard work on this one.

  • Thnaks, check out my "Cobb Cloverleaf 360" video, same format.

  • never had the vehicle to do 130mph in unfortunately. Don't think I could've made the necessary mods to the 1998 Nissan Quest I was driving back then :(

  • Awesome! :) I've lived in Atlanta most of my life and never knew how they all connected. Thanks for the "visual" explanation ;-)

  • Ha-ha. "The spagetti". It was fun driving there.Georgia-gorgeous place.

  • How long did it take you to film all those different angles of the 285/85 junction? It sure seems like to me that it probably took you several hours to film all those different angles, but who really knows.

  • Good question! I'd say it took about 1 hour 45 minutes and roughly 70-75 miles of driving to shoot.

  • Great video. It's amazing to see how the lines and designs on the map all come together and wind their way between each other so smoothly. Do you have to reduce your speed much for most of these ramps, or is it pretty smooth sailing at top speed still?

  • Thanks, The Speed Limit on the longer Flyover ramps is 45 MPH, You can comfortable do 50-55 on them so you really don't have to slow down all that much.

  • I miss that ramp... I got Georgia on my mind again...

  • You really make road trips fun. Bless you, Jim!

  • Fuel must be really cheap in the US :)

    anyway, nice video!

  • $3.59 a gallon for Premiun :(

  • From what I hear... US still has one of the cheapest prices for fuel in the Western world. Australia is dearer than US and then I hear the UK/Europe is more expensive again. We are currently $1.40 AUD per litre for standard unleaded. Diesel is even more expensise at $1.50/1.60 per litre.

  • fwj, that was really good especially since I know how much time you spent compliling this video. I will be in Atlanta on April 18th weekend and yeah, I'll be driving a rental rig but what the hell? I saw the part about Stone Mountain and never knew there were mountains in Georgia. Another great vid fwj.

    vbd

  • Thanks!

Stone Mountain is more of a very, very large hunk of granite than it is a mountain, but that's what it's called.

Mounatins in GA? We have lots of 'em, just go way up in the northern part of the state and you'll be surprised!

  • live and kearn I guess. I saw here is a ski area in Alabama so anything is possible I guess.
