I stop reading Marvel and DC titles a long time ago, especially Marvel. Marvel became so shitty once Joe took over, I'll give DC some credit cause I like Vertigo and wildstorm, and I feel DC has more of a respect level than Marvel.

U know, having not seen the comic in question, l'm going 2 suspend my judgement on it 'til its arrival.

This may not be a popular view 2 have on a channel such as this, but myself, l have never really had a problem w/ a Li'lL bit of erotica, whether it's in comics' form or elsewhere.

The issue that l have does'nt lend itself so much 2 inclusion or exclusion,but whether or not Marvel r setting their binoculars toward the lowest common denominator, thus further distancing the female reader!!

I actually think that Marvels (or at least Joe Q) attitude towards us feels incredibly insulting. I feel its suggesting that I cant enjoy something not aimed directly at my demographic. So as a white, middle class, british male I cant enjoy the Black Panther, Captain America or a series aimed at women. Marvel seem very concerned with making money, yet seem unable to grasp the concept of expanding there readership. I call bollocks on this

There's a running joke among my circle of friends that a good way to judge the quality of a book before you read it is to ask, "Was it cancelled?" If the answer is yes, it's probably worth reading.

Books that I liked that have been canceled in the last year or so:

The Order, Blue Beetle, Checkmate, Simon Dark, Ghost Rider,Nightwing, Birds of Prey, Punisher War Journal, and, now, Captain Britain.

I agree with you guys that Agents of Atlas will be next along with Secret Warriors, REBELS, Exiles and every other fucking Marvel/DC book I enjoy way too much. No wonder I find myself buying more and more indie stuff.

I'm pretty much holding my breath for Secret Six and Invincible Iron Man to get the plug pulled on them any day now.

Maybe Iron Man will survive by virtue of being the only Iron Man book now, but there's no way in hell Secret Six can keep going forever being that good.

At least Manhunter's back now, sort of!

I completely agree that the problem is that Quesada and DC for that matter aren't really trying to take the comics medium anywhere. At the same time, do you think Marvel's desire to pump out a ton of superhero movies only reinforces the comics are only about superheroes point?  Because let's face it, the movies are more mainstream than the comics.

While that is true to a certain extent for DC, especially with the Battle for the Cowl books, I feel Marvel is a far bigger offender of simply towing the line. You know what to expect for the foreseeable future from MArvel; books about Wolverine and/or Deadpool. DC on the other hand, has been far more adventurous with their publishing especially for being on the losing end of the sales war.

Supes-free Superman titles, Wednesday Comics, all of the FC Aftermath titles, the back-up co-features, and the intergration of both Milestone and Red Circle characters are all recent examples of how DC is constantly trying out new ideas.

We all know how I tend to feel about this type of stuff, but Joe Quesada is basically saying "Don't like it? Screw you." Sure he's cocky now that he's the king of the mountain, but how long will he take this type of attitude if Marvel sales decline.
