  • Man this is fucking great!! Awesome job!!

  • i loved this movie when i was yonger and i still love it

  • Awesome animation, man. Just epic. And the Evil Dead trilogy are a fantastic set of movies

  • Ahaha I like the end. XD

  • dude it takes like 5 months for an entire team of animaters to do this! the fact u did it in 6 is amazing. it looks like really super polished xbox graphics which is pretty cool for one person.

  • @drakeTM1 Thanks, man. I did it in 2006. It was incredibly time consuming (especially since I was learning the software at the same time). I look back very fondly at that project and the results. There were times, though - especially rigging the model to the skeleton - where I felt like giving up. Glad I didn't, and I'm glad so many people have liked my homage to Bruce and Sam and the rest.

  • Kick ass animation dude! Good character design, and you really caught Ash/Bruce Campbell quite nicely.BRAVO!

  • "my fair lady HA!" awesome animation

  • this is reallt amazing work even dispite the youtube quality could you share alil with us non animators what it takes to do what you do

  • awesome

  • its that the sims?

  • OMG i just wanna c the real movie!o and this is the game O.o lol

  • Hey, you gonna make more like this?

  • Awesome dude ! That works seems like a pain in the ass

  • Hehehe. Like a mother spider eating her young...or spearing them with forks! What fun!

  • who made this?!

  • I did. This was my senior thesis. I spent 6 solid months building the entire movie seen here - every little piece of it. If I remember correctly, I had 30 separate shots. In any case, the first 2 shots are my favorite. It's really hard to see in the YT version - it went super dark for some reason - but I even animated 3D grass in the foreground. It was a lot of work, but a labor of love.

I always hoped some day Sam might see it, or Bruce. My way of saying, "Thanks," to those guys.

  • Wow, its awesome, you did a really good job! 6 months is a long time, but if you loved doing it and it came out like this then it was well worth it! :D

  • i love this video :)

  • plus u said ur friend told u about the series but as for the people who known about all 3 movies would tell u aod is evil dead 3 they just went with a diff name n imdb have been wrong before and also if u go get the evil dead games for ps2 watch the bonus features on them n look up info about them doin a evil dead 4 thats common sense A.O.D is evil dead 3 lol why would they say their doin a 4 if they never so called did a 3 lol

  • army of darkness is evil dead 3 they just called it army of darkness but anyone who followed the series would know that army of darkness is evil dead 3 at the end of evil part 2 didn't u think it was odd on how the begin of army of darkness was ash goin thru a hole in time just like he did in part 2 at the end n he went to medevil times n they pick up from there and plus they even said their doin a evil dead 4 so yea army of darkness is evil dead 3 lol

  • great job, thanks for the effort, and the upload...

  • this is good 5/5

  • very good imagery.

  • Army of Darkness isn't Evil Dead 3, but I thought this was very good! Great job!

  • its the same thing.... its real titel is Evil dead 3: Army of darkness. look it up on imdb

  • I own the movie... nowhere on the box or in the movie or credits does it say that it is part of the Evil Dead series. People just generally acknowledge it as a third movie that's basically following the same path with the same leading character, so they call it Evil Dead 3. IMDB isn't always right, but in this case they're not exactly wrong... if you know what I'm saying. Either way, I love all three of the movies. :)

  • Yea i see what u mean :P sry if u sounded like an ass writing that comment :), i havent seen the movies i just got a tip on them by my friend and wanted to check them out ^^ definitly gona buy them form what i have seen :D

  • of course it's not going to tell you on the box. Interviews, Commentary etc will tell you it's the 3rd Evil Dead working under a new name, besides the fact the 2nd Evil Dead movie ends with him falling into the Midevil times and picks up here.

Bro it really doesn't matter as long as you like it, I'm just trying to spare you the hassle of Assholes on youtube that'll fight till the bitter end all because you might have a little info wrong you know?

    :)

  • What are you talking about? THe events at the end of ED2 DIRECTLY follow through to AOD.

THere's no way it's not part of the series.

  • 99999999999999999999

  • Nice tribute!, 5/5 from a fan of the series!

  • ?????

  • hahaha bang fucking on. i love it when the little ashes jump out the mirrors and tourture ash. do more id love to see.

  • jajaja

  • haha nice

  • Dude, that's really good. It'd be awesome if you could do the whole movie like this, but that would be a living hell to do xD

  • Not nearly as good as Bruce Campbell's actual acting but still funny and it was nice to hear and remember that scene again. 5 stars and favorited :p

  • Evil Dead 3 is Army of Darkness???

  • yea

  • lol

  • cool tribute to the army of darkness movie, great job, thanks for your effort, i wish i could animate/draw half this good, great work

  • copy and paste &fmt=18 at the end of the url at the top.

that puts it in high quality mode.

    :]

  • That is some real good work

  • You should do the next scene. You know where he goes "Good, Bad. I'm the guy with the gun."

  • this seems a lot like the evil dead video game cut scene... is it? hmmmm??? well? ...

check out my "evil dead" tributes using "tool" ...

  • Nope, not from a cut-scene. I created every single pixel/character/blade of grass. Modeled/textured/animated everything. Took 6 months of my life to do, with 30 shots total. Loved every minute of it.

  • wow thats truly amazing id give up after about 3 minutes

  • The unfortunate thing is that YouTube heavily compresses your videos. So, as a result, what you see here is really, really dark. You lose all of the details (especially the windmill shot, which is my favorite). I may play around with it some to see if I can upload something that I brighten, so you can see a "normal" look. Tough call. Anyhoo, glad you enjoyed it!

  • This is freaking sweet!!! Love everything AOD related, especially if it's done well.

    Well done, erickhill!

  • why not make a pivot version

    that wud be funny lol

  • Hey, that's pretty good. Any plans to animate the whole movie ;-)?

  • That would take me, by myself, somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 years. So, probably not. ;)

  • i think i did in my pants! 5s`s from me this was great!!!!!i dont know why but when i first saw it i couldn`t stop laughing!

  • this must have taken FOREVER!! to make?!?!?

    Fucking beltin! loved it!

    going straight on to myspace!

  • Hey, thanks - yeah, it took a solid six months.

  • well it was well worth it!!!

the most impressive thing ive seen on here! BRAVO!!!

  • Thats just badass man I love it!

  • This is amazing. Raimi and Campbell need to see this and consider redoing the entire movie as an animation!!!! Definitely worth the 6 months of work.

  • xDDDD that was stupid funny

  • six months, holly crap, fine work, thought it was from the game

  • erik my advice to you is simple get friends (these wont/shouldnt stab you in the back) and then make more maybe 20 mins worth? post it on a website and then branch out make movies sell on ebay "i hereby will buy" this is quality stuff good work man

  • ahahaha, excellent! Id watch an entire movie done like that, for the fun factor alone :)

  • hey there mr erickhill I have to say that's quite a good video you got there... so how's frisco going? hope all's well for you, I've gotten a semi-steady job for the last few months that has proven quite enjoyable... anyways, hope to talk to you some time, contact me on AIM (ask garrett) or just the old e-mail address

  • well done :) would be very cool if you remade the whole film

  • That was really well done, awesome work.

  • That's totally awesome Erick! Do a feature length :)

  • Haha! Thanks. Actually, it took me close to six months to make this one-minute animation all by myself. A full-feature length? Let me get back to you in about 50 years. =)

    Thanks for your comments.

  • nice job dude =D

  • El video mola.¡Buen trabajo! (It's cool.Good job!)

  • Hey this is pretty awesome.

  • Hey! That's pretty cool. That's an awesome movie by the way.

  • Thanks, Sean. A lot of time and effort went into it. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Peace.

    Eric
