@keithdog7 Hey, cut him some slack. That's a dangerous spot. I've had to do that myself and it is no easy task, especially in a dress uniform. I had to sit on the ledge with my legs facing inside the building and my butt cheeks half off the ledge using my legs to grip the insides of the room. I'm all about dying for my country, butI'm not about falling to my death trying to raise a flag outside the embassy.
@EvanC0912 No, that's not me, but I have raised it before. We sometimes do it for veterans or Dep of State peeps who want a "flag that's been flown over the embassy" or if something goes wrong with it (like getting all twisted up in the wind or something). Yeah, I agree, there could be a better way of doing it, but we didn't build the building. We don't really manipulate it that often, so I don't believe the Dept of State would consider it when they can just hang a Marine out the window, haha.

i think they must consider using a bit more technology there, i.e. automatic flag-pole. lol..
