  • "Madonna's new single." That's what I thought in 1986 anyways.

  • @agfagaevart She had a much better voice than Madonna. IMHO...

  • This song is so awesome!!! I'll bet you can't go to a dance club and dance to music like this today!!!

  • quelle son un peut madona !

  • it took me a long time to finally find this song woohoo! :)

  • Classic! Sounds great, thanks for posting.

  • Whether this is regina or madonna singing or a combnation, it is so beautiful. What everything else is missing, innocence. Love is innocent, pure, world altering... and all around :s Our heart the intense tool, our soul holds the luminous essence of all that we can be... Clearer up close, yet more wistful from afar... The more you get, the more you need. The more you see, the more blind you get to any imperfection. It's the answer, yet there is no question ;)

  • FIRST OF ALL....Regina has a great voice in and for this caliber of music, great pitch, great tonality, great sustaining!! NO NEED for special effects on this voice!!! SHE could/should still be making records regardless of the slight resemblance to "M"!!! THIS song is STILL has the heat!!!!

  • Stephen Bray record producer, great mix, classic!

  • Love This Classic..

  • I heard a rumor that SIRE Records payed off Regina's label to limit record sales cause Regina sounded too much like Madonna and Regina actually did not need reverb or studio engineers to sound as good as she does. Regina suppose to still be receiving royalties and living great.

  • @MrBbigheadd I remember hearing the samething back in 1986-87? Her voice, I think, is and was better than Madonna's.More emotion and she can carry her pitch!! Love her voice! It's like she's singing this song to me in my living room!!

  • Have been looking for this version for AGES !!!!!

Love it- - Love It - Love It

This record is so hard to find , Thanks for share !

  • OMG!!! I was a senior in high school when this song came out. 1986 was definitely a great year for music and me.

  • @chuckers40 I Could Not Agree More 1986 Was A Great Year Janet Jackson had Control, Madonna was True Blue, Prince was on Parade, Dead Or Alive was Mad, Bad, & Dangerous To Know and then there were many great one hit wonders to keep us groovin'

  • love this song poor Regina sounded so much like Madonna but never really got going. This song has great music and her vocals are spot on for this song.

  • I danced myself silly to this great tune in the 80's. Just so smooth and elegant vocals with a great beat. I always thought it was a Madonna song...but the vocals always seemed so much better than Madonna...and I am a big Madonna fan:) This is an 80's classic and Regina is a great singer!! Love it!

  • I'm in AWE of all the 80s love on here! I'm right there with you! 80s forever!

  • I care not what anyone say, I LOVED this song " back in the day", & I still do. Wolfsky9, 64 y/o.

  • @IRONMANHONDO87 my uncle used to teach me to dance to this music. i was 5 then and he was the disco king. i miss the 80's a lot

  • ooooohh, I love this track...does that mean I'm gay?

  • @drfunk911 Hell no dude! This was the shit in the clubs back then...Lisa Lisa, Madonna, Michael, Nu Shooz, etc...when going to clubs was fun and the music had energy...unfortunately, we will never see those times again or hear the quality of music like that.

  • @HollyWood6969100 I STILL LOVE LISA LISA's music. CLASSIC....AS IS THIS :-)

  • Oh man. This brings back memories! Thanks for this.

  • Thumb up. Bravooo.

  • Summer of '87, I was 40 y/o, & looking the best I ever did. This was #1 in all the clubs in the SF Bay Area--I know--I was in all of them that year--& oMg, the Ladies!!! Wolfsky9

  • classic...madonna originally turned this song down...regina used it and made it what it is today.

"Words, don't mean so much to me

    I'd rather wait and see

what happens when the lights go down"...

  • A great song that rarely gets played on the 80's stations. I love you Stephen Bray!

  • Wow! I listened to this back in the 80's when it first came out, but I had no idea this artist was such a cutie-pie. Awesome song too.

  • Que lembrança!!!!! Eu devia ter uns 15 anos! Viva os anos 80! Tantas músicas maravilhosas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAVENT HEARD THIS SINCE THE SUMMER 86!

  • This is why the 80's are the best, need I say more......

  • **Actually Regina had another Hit called baby love so she wasnt a one hit wonder***

  • @demarcos69 ....umm.. this IS Baby Love! lol.

  • @Tre404 LOL SORRY

  • No One beats this.. I love it..

  • I like this song and it can be downloaded from Ares.

  • I thought this was Madonna - haha Good old Steve Bray

  • Rumour was for many years that Madonna had sung backup on Regina's album since Regina had been one of Madonna's early backup singers. Madonna has never confirmed this though.

  • O.o she's cute

  • This version sounds even more Madonna-esque lol. Very much like 'holiday' actually now that I hear it again... Or definitely anything off her first record.

  • I LOVED this song, in '87, & I own the 12 " long play 33 ! I don't care what anyone say, this son is irresistable. Wolfsky9

  • was listening to Comcast's 80 music channel on tv and was like wow.. i havent heard this song in a long time, 80s is still the best music there is

  • These kind of songs made it fun to go out dancing, nowdays forget it all garbage!

  • love this song

  • I've been looking everywhere for this song!!! This is awesome that you have it!!!!

  • @TracyDragonfire

tell me where you can find this song, so i can upload it to my ipod!!!! Itunes,or anywhere else for that matter!! I tried to upload it from mp3raid.com, but even those files are corrupt, and won't work!!! why is this such a hard song to get???

  • madonna or not regina had her own voice unlike fake millivanilli fans now thats fake this song was great for the young teens in love back in the 80's hey i was there and went through it baby love all day long sweet

  • FUCKING AMAZING SONG

  • she was a madonna wanna-be. there were many in the mid to late 80s

  • @discovery781 ...Regina NEVER wanted to be a Madonna-type artist! She fought that image tooth and nail against her record company, who DID want to fashion her as a Madonna-type. Because, of course, that's where they felt the money was. A damned shame. Regina actually had another band that was much more cutting edge. Regina Richards.

  • @Tre404 its not her image, its her near identical vocal style, and musical production---how could she not think a comparison would be made?

  • @discovery781 ...Exactly. Producer/record company fashioned the sound, coached the vocal. But it wasn't her style personally, and she was unhappy about it.

  • It was written by Stephen Bray who was in a band with Madonna early on and who was also responsible for some of her early hits, hence the similar sound

  • bellissima!!!!

  • back in the 80's it was rumored that the track madonna actually sang it!!! I don't know...sounds like a Jelly Bean Benitez Prdtn!

  • How could anyone not love this jam?!?!?!?!?

  • you know I hate the fact that stations that play 80's music choose to skip out on these songs!!!!

  • so true.

  • @DjAmaZonX i think they were one hit wonders and statons dont know there music who knows

  • @DjAmaZonX WELL said, thank you!!! Just give me access to a radio station for a week (with total freedom to play what I/the public wants). Great tunes like this WOULD again see the light of day.

  • When this song first came out back in the 80's I was hooked. Sadly I was never able to find the album. 12 years later I was in a record shop looking through their used cassettes and there it was. Years later on youtube I finally saw the video. This song will always be my favorite.

  • She used to have a mushtash........

I'm still in love ... though..

  • Oh my god. I have her etched in my memory for eternity after seeing her on TV in, well, about the time this song was released. It sounds just like "Spotlight", by Madonna.

  • de mis favoritas...que epoca....!!!!

  • I think its safe to say that Gwen Steffani got her style from Regina heheee

  • q rola 1986 q epoca a mi flota de liverpool chavo martin todo junto choñoy oscar y la gory saludossss

  • where can i download dis??

  • Thx for post that beautifull track,

    best ever,

thx to haebee for your clean work

  • it probaly was one of those milli vanilli things

  • Personally I think that IS Madonna on the chorus. She could have recorded the song, and then rejected it upon hearing this "demo" version, and then Regina completed it. I'm sorry, but that IS her voice on the chorus. Madonna's 80s voice is un-mistakenly distinct...and frankly beautiful.

  • It is sung by Regina. It sounds like Madonna because it's produced by Steven Bray who produced some of Madonna's hits from 82/83/84

  • madonna is a bitch for using her voice.

  • Alisha & Regina were poor but interesting copies of the Queen (after "into the groove")...

  • That sounds so Madonna. i remember being upset when i discovered it was Regina and not the blond who was singing.

  • OMG!! this is great! haven't heard this in years! is this available as an mp3? would love to have it.

  • I've been looking for it too, but Itunes & Amazon are a no :( Itunes has some Euro girl group that did a cover, but it does not come close to Regina !

Back in the 80s I just knew this was Madonna lol

  • @sourapples2

if you ever find this song to download , please let me know where i can find it!!!

  • @icemachineman I have this on cd single .. if you want a copy .. also its in a mix medley from Ultimix .. the Medley compilation.

  • The 12" version is the absolute *BEST* mix, I dance to it everyday, I swear!! :D xoxoxo

  • just think it couldve been madonna singing this, but she refused and turned it down, its such a shame as even the production on this is pure madges debut album, dannii minogues version from 1991 is good, the album version though, not the single remix, check that out.

  • thanks so much to whom ever put this on I;ve been searching for this for so long LOVE LOVE LOVE it it was always one of my favorites at a special time in my life!!!

  • Steven Bray did an awesome job with this version!!!!! Timeless!!!!

  • Fantastico! Alguien por favor, que cargue los otros temas del LP Curiosity. Please!

  • she is so beautiful. i just wanna kiss her.

  • Anyone know where I can download this song? I've checked Amazon, iTunes, and Rhapsody without any luck.

  • google: youtube mp3 you can use it to convert vids like this into mp3 files!!! :)

  • -Regina Bay Love. - Alisha Baby Talk, E.G. Sait Sait, Nick Kamen Each time your break my hear, y more very good the songs

  • Oh hell yeah, I love all those songs too, long live the 80's!!!!

  • God do I remember this song, Had a girl who said just this song to me, incredible.

  • remind me of my disco dance era.. at the 80's...

  • love this song forever.gives out good memories

  • I call my 1 yr. old niece baby love. I remembered this song and came searching on YT. I too thought it was Madonna. She is dancing her little heart out right now. My nieces and nephew love 80's music better than today's music. I wish I can go back in time to the 80's for a year and visit each year from 80-89.

  • Love this song. I have the 45 but its lost in the attic with the rest of my 80s record collection.

  • I really don't care what critics have to say about Regina's "Baby Love" But I remember this being one of my favorite songs that I waited to hear on the radio. I remember being in NYC hearing this song back when it was released and it was so refreashing to hear this inside hit. I was writing a letter today and heard this song on Music Choice. I love how Regina impacts you after the bridge. This is one of the best songs I've heard on the radio from a major label artist. You have to impact today.

  • Just like many others I was fooled to believe this song was Madonna's. Heck, Regina's and Madonna's voices are very similar the music sounds the same! But hey, I learned something new! Now I'm curious about the rest of her songs.

  • The 80's the decade of the dance club....Great times I know I'm not the only one who had a High top fade and biker short.....LOL

  • Memories indeed...forgot a little about this gem I have to admit..I am more into searching the first half of the 80's classics...but this is a truly lovable oldschool dancerecord (in great quality) from '86.

  • Great memories of teen years! Nothing like the 80's. It revolutionized the music world.

  • GREAT SONG.

  • Great song! Produced so well!!!

  • loved this song back in the day with it was fresh! years later it is still a breath of fresh air!! it takes me back to the day.. Thanks very much!!!

  • Thanks very much!!! This takes me back to the day. Thanks again!!!

  • escucho esta cancion y se me acelera el pulso es de mis videos favoritos

  • Love Baby Love

  • I have the CD which on which the original version of this song is on.

  • Madonna never did sing on this song. This song was written for Madonna (Madonna refused it) but was given to Regina Richards. Everyone thought Madonna did this song when it first came out. Stephen Bray produced this song which is another reason it sounds like early Madonna.

  • exactly, Steve did write some catchy tunes but they are somewhat formularized and predictable. In 1990, when he wrote Rhythm Of Love for Kylie it was a good decision of Madonna to finish working with him.

Did you know that Nick Scotti's song Get Over was supposed to be on The Immaculate Collection?

    Madonna sings on it.

  • This is some great ass music!!!!

  • I had this album great one!!! loved it so much..this was my fav song!

  • 22 años pensando que esta cancion era de madonna, muy buena cancion de los 80s, gracias.
