The amount of energy a solar thermal system generates within the first year in sunny climates, and the first 1-3 years in cloudy climates, is equivalent to the amount of energy required to manufacture and install the system. The system will then run with little maintenance for 20-30 years, generating 10-30x the energy required to produce the system. Renewable energy is good for your wallet, the environment, and the economy.
