  • Never, will we ever, forget the power, of Dr. Martin Luther King...

  • @foofight3rs @loneranger711 the quote came from a cartoon that depicted Gandhi sitting cross-legged in heaven, welcoming MLK with an outstretched hand. So Gandhi never actually said it, but a cartoonist imagined that the two men "knew" each other very well in spirit and in philosophy.

  • If only if you was still here.

  • @TheJushie If you remember what he stood for, if you believe in abolishing color lines, if you feel we should love our enemies, bringing hope to the destitute and shed light on every evil dark ideal, then Dr. King is still here.

  • "There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither is safe, not politic, not popular but he must do it because conscious tells him it's right!"

  • SO INSPIRED.......

  • MLK, Truly A God Sent....

  • Jeffy12... you couldn't be more wrong about Ron Paul. You have no clue what you're talking about. First and foremost, RON PAUL believes in the our constitution, the law of this land. And if military action is unconstitutional, HE'S AGAINST IT! Got it? He took an oath to uphold the law and he is ONE who has actually done that over and over for decades now! AND, as a strong Christian, it's well known that he believes in & practices the Just War Theory, look it up genius, you MAY learn something.

  • Obama will never touch this man or past this mans moral values! Never!

  • @phatdic11 Martin Luther King Jr strongly apposed demeaning other Blacks just so you know.

  • @phatdic11 it's not a competition. they were/are different men serving different purposes. as great as MLK was, he didn't allow millions of people to keep the health care they would have lost. king was not a politician. president obama is. and soon as you become one, you're going to piss people off and disappoint them. but you can also get things done that movement leaders can't.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I love him so much and we need his words more than ever now.

  • .....

  • ( ah, if CIA only tried to work with the civil right movement protesters verses oppressing it )

  • @1awareness Amen

  • Check out the new MLK song "FULL JUSTICE" on Youtube. Get ready to be uplifted. Watch it now!!

  • " The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

  • Wow my man MLK

  • HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE DAY WHEN THE ISRAELITES REMEMBER WHO THEY ARE AND THE THINGS THAT WE MUST BE WILLING TO DO TO HELP OUR PEOPLE REMEMBER WHO THEY ARE SO THAT THAT DAY CAN COME WHEN A RIGHTIOUS JUDGEMENT FALLS ON THIS EARTH. REMEMBER THAT HE WAS SPEAKING TO THE SO-CALLED BLACKS

  • Martin Luther would not approve of barack obama, idk why people think this. MLK would have been on the side of Ron Paul.

  • @jeffy12 No....he would've supported someone who was as close to his beliefs as possible who could ACTUALLY be elected. He was a staunch realist.

  • @gsequel Ron Paul is as close, and he can be elected

  • @jeffy12 Maybe on the topics of military and discrimination but not in terms of economic injustice he isn't. Especially when just the other week Ron Paul said that people who can't afford health insurance should be left to die.

  • @6thmonkey yea because he is for individual rights and responsiblitie , but he can just enforce that by himself anyway

  • @6thmonkey the deal with health insuance is that it gives another way for the government to grab u by the balls, and thats not right

  • @jeffy12 Believe me. I live in the UK and when people in difficult circumstances are given free health care who would otherwise of died...it really isn't a bad thing..

...but as I said again MLK was against economic injustice/exploitation and Ron Paul is for complete free market

  • @jeffy12 Dr King was against the war in Vietnam because it was morally wrong. He opposed it strictly on moral grounds. Whereas Ron Paul is against America's military presence in other countries stricly for economic reasons, he is against it because he says that America is broke. Ethics is the last thing on his mind. The libertarian and "every man for himself" view of the world that Ron Paul has is totally opposed to Dr King's view of the world who was about solidarity and social justice.

  • Beautiful person. They killed our best ones. WAR what is it good for ? You can neither eat nor drink money, money cannot hug you, spend your money to become independent. They only have might because we allow it! WAKE THE FUCK UP and connect.

  • "cowardice asks, is it safe? Expediency asks, is it politic? Vanity asks, is it popular? But conscience asks, is it RIGHT?.... And nations will not rise against nations.". Awesome

  • @corey20866 You are a loser, boy.

  • @bobojeff123 Proof?

  • That's why we keep getting our asses kicked!

  • Honestly if MLk was alive today he would be upset at the non-open racism. I think people forget that racism is still very apparent today. His greatest thing he said on his last speech. I AM BLACK AND I AM PROUD. doubt he would be happy to see black kids going to school with white kids, and the signs on the doors gone. But not much has changed, and it is freaking 2011.

Remember he was a Black man before, he was a Great man.

  • @sambam2694 he wanted to equality so he wanted ppl of all races and religion to be equal he hated segregation, so wat r u talking about.

  • @Chilly671 You are are confused & filled with hatred. Reflect.

  • @PSTripler Ah you're one of those who thing America is great whether they're right or wrong. It's people like you who work hard to hasten the demise of this country because of your narrow minded ness.

  • @Moralvorstellung28 More like a nightmare. Tell us about your dream, son.

  • @PSTripler

You my friend are nothing more than the butt of a centuries long joke. But I wont laugh at ya. I merely pity you. And you will not anger me, you only motivate me.

  • A brilliant, brave, inspirational man willing to work towards his humanitarian ideals of justice even when it meant drawing the ire of those who would put him in his grave just to silence him. He was the real deal and we haven't seen the likes of a hero like himself in a long long time. Thank you Dr. King.

  • men such as martin luther king jr, ghandi, and john lennon. All amazing men who spoke of a better world all were killed by men filled with hate. Please do not let these mens message die in vain... we all must work together to make there dream come true lets make this world a better place and let the voice of hatred be deathened by the voice of reason.

  • @turtletarian2 and Malcolm X.

  • @Anavengertg ah yes forgot bout him

  • Martin Luther King should have been the first black president of USA not Barry fuckin soetoro. thumbs up if you agree

  • "The odd thing about assassins, Dr. King, is that they think they've killed you." - Mohandas K Gandhi

  • @foofight3rs nice quote, but Gandhi died in 1948...MLK would have been 19. they never knew each other.

  • @loneranger711 quote was from a comic published in the Chicago Sun Times

  • i do not believe what the government says about dr. king!

  • Question: Why was martin Luther King killed? If you know why then your a dick.

  • Got MLK?

  • Solid as always, brother King left lessons for the ages.

    Mr. Obama, are you listening?

Take a position neither safe, nor politic, nor popularity concerned... but principled.

We are a great country, and as soon as we do away with the impostor born of fear, greed, ignorance, and arrogance... we are going to do just fine as a nation amongst nations -- or we will implode. The impostor is "dog-eat-dog". Recognize the impostor.

  • From 7:02 "... a great need for a revolution of values. And I say to you in conclusion... that we must continue to stand up and we must continue to follow the dictates of our conscious even if that means breaking unjust laws!"

    OWWW!!!

*In our case that whole PArRIOT ACT

  • @MeChelMyBelle That's Gandhi.

  • @KrfNYC2 whom Dr. King studied~ yes.

  • @MeChelMyBelle Yeah. King's publically expressed philosophies were, I think it's safe to say, straight out of the book of Gandhi.

  • When did he deliver this speech?

  • if king was alive today(born in a newer generation), no one would have even heard of him. he got popular by being outspoken on a subject that's easy to be outspoken in. more complex issues i think are above his intellectual capacity. still he's a great man, very nice voice too. but you have to remember the civil rights movement would have won regardless if he was its leader or not.

  • @ahmed337799 Wrong on two fronts: A) People like him would be outspoken on controversial issues regardless of time period. B) Judging by his and many others' deaths, it was not easy to be outspoken on that issue in his time period at all. It wasn't the speaking really, but his willingness to back it up by protesting and being willing to risk his freedom and life. C) I'm very sure the civil rights movement would not have been won if no one, including MLK, was willing to die over it.

  • @aceirmada

it wasn't really controversial, almost the whole planet granted people of different skin color equal rights. and here you had the richest and most advanced country in the world which still practiced segregation. i don't think there was that much life risking either.

  • This is a beautiful video about a man who promotes peace, yet, there is still violence in the comments about it.

Please, if you don't like it, stay away from it. For the people who enjoy peace and equalization of race such as myself, let us enjoy it.

Youtube comments, as ridiculous as it is, are a prime example of why society is failing. Race shouldn't differentiate us.

Stand up for your beliefs, but don't argue a point that only causes conflict and has no actual good resolution in the end.

  • I believe that if King had stuck to only civil right he never would have been killed

  • Comment removed

  • if king was alive, im sure he'd smile but inside he'd be waiting for some point to unleash a fury of righteous social truths of the present time, he would remind those of us that experienced that pivotal time period history is being re-written to suit the needs of an elite few... a few who would generate terrorism, something more acceptable than a pretext, to rally our people and economy for war. so those economic elite can generate even more capital for.... and then hed smoke and say im done

  • As a young European muslim I wish there were more people in our day of time like this man. MLK=Love.

  • @Deliyurekhan don't give up my friend - we are here.

  • things he said were true and came throught

  • People asked what would King do today? Protest injustice.

  • King-Parks 2012

  • What a great speech! Let us learn from this (8.43)!

  • Martin Luther King was a very very very special force for good! And stays a force for good. His words resonate deeply.

    Respect!

  • Money property system is ROOT of ALL problems, it creates/exploits scarcity, never creates enough jobs, allows people on top to control everyone/thing

    1. people need food, water, energy, etc.

    2. sharing all resources and knowledge allows maximum cooperative efficiency

    3. creating an abundance of all our needs makes money, gov, crime obsolete

    4. automating the production distribution, frees up humanity to no longer be wage slaves to governments or corporations

  • @dontblockmedk Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? You say it belongs to everybody? I say it belongs to him and nobody has the right to take it from him because they "need" it. I call the man who takes what he desires yet has not earned a thief.

  • I love this speech, I love the idea of the speech. It was all a dream, now look at America. We've came a long way. I wrote a poem as a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. It's actually the first poem I''ve ever written. It's titled "3 Kings" check it out its on my channel. I was nervous reading it but hey it's my first. R.I.P. Martin Luther King from Keely Green

  • man at 7:50 in crowd : sock it to them i think he says. but yeah what he said SOCK IT TO THEM

  • Thank you for invoking the values and morals required for humanity

  • Coward asks the question is it safe

Expediency asks the question is it politic

Vanity asks the question is it popular

But conscience asks the question is it right, and there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor politic nor popular but he must do it because conscience tells him it is right.

  • MLK believed, fought and DIED for EQUAL rights NOT integration.

  • @faissa2 ...MLK believed , fought, and died for BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS.

  • @SuperTruthful For Blacks in America predominately. The reason he was murdered by our government was his opposition on the Vietnam war, much like Malcolm was. Read his work more and study it, not that bull shit "i have a dream" speech, which is quite frankly his weakest speech also it was revised on the steps of the Washington Memorial b/c it was to critical of our governments unjust laws and negligence.

  • Comment removed

  • @faissa2 ...You don't know what gender, race on educational backround i have. It bugs the shit outta me when others assume, what someone else knows. You don't know what i know or what i have studied. I stand by what i wrote, it wasn't based on a speech, MLK died fighting for basic human rights for people. If that is too simplistic for you, oh well. His opposition to the war in vietnam, in addition to moving his movement towards the north was another contributing factor. Never assume anything.

  • @faissa2 ...Malcolm was killed, not so much to his opposition to the war in vietnam. Malcolm was murdered because he ws set up by Elijah muhammed. Malcolm found out elijah had fathered 8 children by his young secretaries and that information was going to get out.....Malcolm questioned Elijah. Elijah didn't like it....Malcolm was murdered. The government didn't have to do it. But i'm quite sure the government had a hand in it. Elijah' son told Malcolm what was going down. Research!

  • @SuperTruthful.lol why would Elijah Muhammad need Malcolm X killed for acquiring that information? I'm not saying Elijah Muhammad was the father to those other children, but even if he was the Qur'an permits the taking of multiple wives. Plus the government was trying very hard to soil Mr. Muhammad's name. lol, they wouldn't need Malcolm's help to do that, and be sure Mr. Muhammad knew that as well. no ma'am/sir. Malcolm was killed by either the government because they never did like traitors.

  • @SuperTruthful or he was killed because the followers of Mr. Muhammad wanted to kill him on their own accord. Either way the government benefits from it because when you type in Elijah Muhammad in black history month he doesn't appear, even though he was responsible for a 75 million$ nation. however you can bet your life when you type in Elijah Muhammad Malcolm X will be the first person to appear on the search. By the way Mr. King was scheduled to meet with Mr. Muhammad before he died.

  • @SuperTruthful...and they weren't going to talk about no dreams. They were probably going to talk about

"A Time To Break Silence" (one of Mr. kings last speeches that of course no one will hear about unless they look)

The government will never let the people know who was really responsible for the "success" of the civil rights movement.

  • anyone else here the similarities between Dr. King and Malcolm X????

  • Martin Luther King jr would make one hell of a president....

  • This is why they killed him ((

  • MLK was the greatest of human beings. But he didn't go far enough. The fight isn't over yet folks, the only thing that's changed is the arena - the zeitgeist movement dot com.

  • I DO BELIEVE :), AMEN

  • Miss Hall's School is an all girls boarding and day school located in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts for grades 9-12.

  • I wish he was around today, I would love to meet him he sends shivers dwn my spine when he talks. what a legend I wish he could tell the world to stop fighting today.

  • sorry for my name bein that big i let em play wit it but all sins and tieds be ersed wooooooooosh

  • @cdddraftsman HOW CAN SLAVES BE LAZY WHEN THEY ARE DOING ALL THE WORK

  • a great thing and see our churchill-what a hero he was

  • it beggers belief that some white folks still think black people are stupid and no gooders. It's true some of these racist whites dont want to admit that black people are smatter than whites. Whites tend to be manipulative and control freaks no wonder they cant stand the elegance of obama in america or the mighty Dr MLK. Why do you complain now after all the pain you caused the black race it's just like Germans playing victims to what happened to them after the second world war.

  • @cdddraftsman You have disproved your own argument...PEACE.

  • Damn! why don't they make men like this anymore?

  • SOMEONE SAID IT BEST WE TAKING OVER LOL

  • go up to your address bar, put the letter "Q" between the words you and tube, then press enter or click go

  • This is the reason I love youtube. The white race that speaks on this forum is letting us and the world know his ignorance. That is a small percentage of the white race that is decreasing. Of course FoxNews is helping to grow this culturally ignorant white hatred of someone who is different because these racist ignorant people are large and FoxNews is a business. Obama & youtube has shown these ignorant whites still exist in this country & they will be left behind, financially & politicaly.

  • Martin luther king was a VERY good man!

  • @sh0rtbus JESUS CHRIST says " Why do you call me good teacher for no one is good but GOD". this generation should never forget this statement. The focus is GOD Alone. Men may come and go BUT GOD never die but ALIVE AND REAL AND REIGN IN HIS HEAVENLY THRONE.

  • For those leaving nasty comments. You are the the people that when our rights are completely taken away, you will see the wisdom of his (and others') words.

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful sentiment

  • If King was alive today he would be against this BS war today.

  • @PREZ150 i agree that it is now a Bs war but when it entered it was just one, the reson we dont pull out now is cuz their gov suxs atm and once we leave there terriorists will take over again >-< its realy a pain if you think about it

  • @nubnubbud I say let's pull them out.And let them take care of them self's.These people been living like this for thousands of year's they don't want a Democracy.

  • @PREZ150 Don't tell Glenn Beck, It seems he may not have read this far through his pop-up history book.

  • @PREZ150 Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels exposing world tyranny(Roman Catholic Empire). He was born in 1802 near Paris, France and 'coincidentally' in 1902 The Society of Gesu(Jesuits) were ousted from France for the third and last time. The Society of Jesu(Jesuits) have been expelled from 82 countries. p.s. ARAMIS IS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).

  • @PREZ150: you know it!!!!

  • @PREZ150 He'd probably also be against Obama's illegal war in Libya.

  • I think it's your choice to be a racist, but of course, you must prepare for the consequences..

  • I've noticed that there are lots of racist people commenting on these videos. These ignorant comments are obviously just attempts to get a reaction... So don't give one. just mark it as spam, or report them and get their account banned. :D

  • hey, robynne---it's "you're" [contraction of you are] not "your"--[possessive]--just thought i'd let you know...

  • hey nycHitler, isnt it great we live i a country where your free to be so ignorant and full of hate. i would normally tell you what a piece of shit you are, but in honor of dr king(who loved his enemies) let me say that i love you dispite your faults.

god bless you and god bless martin luther king.

  • hey 88 why you so angry is it cause your about dead end the human experiment soon were not worthy

  • Ok How many men have cheated? How many great men have cheated? Cheating is such a small thing to weigh a mans worth on and weather he did or didn't there is no doubt this counrty and no doubt the world is in a better place because of his sacrifice.

  • How Republican of you!!

  • how against the spirit of this man's memory is that statement! We have religious freedom in America...stop hating people who are trying to do good!

  • "Out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should strike the nations."

  • Please if your going to say something about him or anyone have something to say rather then just spouting out of emotion and hate. Give something of context to the table BROTHER. Seriously, emotion is what gets us all in trouble. That's where we get bamboozled by those that can benefit from our emotion and our fears to manipulate us.

  • Multi-National Banking Establishments, Lockheed Martin does, Browns Brothers Harriman does! The House of Rothchild does!, the Rockerfellers do! What do we as working class Americans do? Kill other working class people abroad! We get metals for it, we get fake prostetic legs! We get big medical bills, and we get a soldiers funeral!

  • You wish you could even attempt to articulate as good as he has. You cannot even form your ideas in such a coherent tone as he. You call him what you want. It's your right. But same time. There's much truth to what he speaks. The things he says about Vietnam, etc. You rather you be drafted to a war that does not represent your people? We as American people do not enjoy the spoils of war. If you believe that your a fool.

  • Thank You Dr. King. Thank You for healing the pain & correcting the wrongs of our nation. Happy Birthday on what would have been your 80th Birthday today.

  • mycHitler88 you are a sad person & not worthy of being alive.

  • Um nycHitler88 what have you to show you are worse than the hate that resides in youm, may that same hate be shown to you. what a shame! you are truly disgusting

  • Hey there notsee. You dont scare me. Your ignorance is not blissfull your attitude is dissapointing and sad. You live in the darkness and like it Then complain about it feeling bad... Your a loss and a minus a pimp and a whore A bigotted racist we dont care anymore. Your opinions are losses Your ideals are a joke Why dont you find another assshole whos dick you can smoke?
  • Oh my somebody's got penis envy!

  • I admire King's beautiful voice and elocution...

  • watch?v=QFsLTBtEXYY

this audio clip deserves to be heard.

    apologies for the spam.

    Happy Civil Rights day

  • This video reminded me that Martin Luther King was a Christian, and his actions where develop from the Bible truth. Thank you God for using your servant to benefit the many.

  • @elagentenumerouno

He wasn't a christian. he slept with a woman.

  • @CloudsofBliss

So if you sleep with a woman you are not a christian?

  • @MrMirakL I read that comment and it made me laugh at first but I think, rather hope lol, that they meant he had issues with infidelity. And that because of his affairs he wasn't a Christian.

  • so.. instead of appreciating his sacrifices and contributions you slander him?

according to the bible then you are not a christian either. I guess its true that misery loves company (or at least tries to bring everyone else down to their level)

  • @Earthenenigma I wasn't slandering the guy, facts are facts he did cheat on his wife. I was just commenting on what someone else said that didn't make sense, which was that he had sex so he isn't a Christian. You sit here and make assumptions and have no idea of what you are talking about because I do appreciate the things he did but I'm not like most who ignore the bad. And I'm not miserable at all. But you are right I'm not a Christian but thats by choice. So fuck you and have a nice day : )

  • @MrMirakL

FBI caught him of cheating. You can't explain that . He is a slut.

  • Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

    (Matthew 5:10-12)

  • @Earthenenigma

Said to Mr. King. He cheated his wife. FBI caught him.

    I'm very dissappointed.

  • I didn't know that Dr. MLK.Jr. was found cheating on his wife, How ever, that does not take away what God did trow this man. He was a Christian even if he committed sin. Thank God That Jesus came to save sinners, like me, and I wish that God use me to benefit others like he used this servant of God, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And I believe he is in heaven today.

  • @CloudsofBliss , because Dr. King slep with a woman it does not mean he was not a Christian, because he was, now I thank you for the standards you hold us Christians, and that acction it's shamefull, however that it's a discussion of sin and what happen to seeners when we repent and turn to God, it's a diferent topic.

  • Malcolm X was warning us too ! Its a fact that he was setting up a meeting with Malcolm X. They were gonna unite , and J.Edgar Hoover shit himself ! lol...

  • He was warning us of 911. Same culprits over, and over again.

911 is the millennium BUG. The media warned us too.

  • God bless martin da

  • If only we deserved a man like Dr. King today, what a blessing it would be.

  • If America had not involved the war, South Vietnam would have fallen into communism in 1954 and more Vietnamese would have been murdered in cultural revolutions like those launched by Mao in China (20 million deaths) and Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (2 millions)

Total Vietnamese democide by communists:1,040,000 (1975-87) by UNHCR

    Executions: 100,000

    Camp Deaths: 95,000

    Forced Labor: 48,000

    Democides in Cambodia: 460,000

    Democides in Laos: 87,000

    Vietnamese Boat People: 500,000 deaths.

  • From MLK's sermon, "Why I Oppose The War in Vietnam", on 4/30/67...

"Now, let me tell you the truth about it. They must see Americans as strange liberators. Do you realize that the Vietnamese people proclaimed their own independence in 1945 after a combined French and Japanese occupation. And incidentally, this was before the Communist revolution in China. They were led by Ho Chi Minh. And this is a little-known fact, and these people declared themselves independent in 1945."

  • More from MLK..."They quoted our Declaration of Independence in their document of freedom, and yet our government refused to recognize them. President Truman said they were not ready for independence. So we fell victim as a nation at that time of the same deadly arrogance that has poisoned the international situation for all of these years. France then set out to reconquer its former colony. And they fought eight long, hard, brutal years trying to re-conquer Vietnam."

  • "And they fought eight long, hard, brutal years trying to re-conquer Vietnam. You know who helped France? It was the United States of America. It came to the point that we were meeting more than eighty percent of the war costs. And even when France started despairing of its reckless action, we did not. And in 1954, a conference was called at Geneva, and an agreement was reached, because France had been defeated at Dien Bien Phu. But even after that, and after the Geneva Accord, we did not stop."

  • "We must face the sad fact that our government sought, in a real sense, to sabotage the Geneva Accord. Well, after the French were defeated, it looked as if independence and land reform would come through the Geneva agreement. "
