Ok guys, recently I ended up taking my car back to the dealer again. This had been a weird ongoing problem since I first posted this video. Anyway, for awhile now I notice that there is water moisture inside the headlamps. The dealer kept insisting that it is a faulty bulb again (like the first time). I told them its not because I tried switching side an the bulb works! Anyway I got them to take out my headlamps and it turn out that water is leaking in and the ballast that sit underneath the
@kaspia the headlamps was soak in water! I had extended warranty and they replaced me brand new headlamps because the ballast come with the headlamps as a whole unit. If you turn on your lights and its not working...do you head a humming sound from the headlamps? If yes, then the ballast is working but the bulb is bad. If no, then the ballast is not igniting so for sure the bulb won't power on. I hope this help you guys out. Don't let dealer do the easy fix by trying to sell you a $300 HID bulb!
Got the same problem//but not just the passeger side also the driver side//when one of them works the otherone turn off and viceverse//got to the point that both turn off at the same//please what can I do?
I'm having that same problem with my 2007 IS250 right now. I definitely don't have a warranty anymore. So i bought some D4S HID bulbs on eBay for $39.99, because my boyfriend thinks he can fix it himself. He says if it was the Ballast, the light wouldn't turn on at all. But we'll see............
@waytwocute was it the ballast? please read my response on top. If its the ballast, you won't hear that humming sound when you first turn on the headlight. Turn on your headlight and stand next to your headlamps and see if you can hear the ballast turning on. It its on, you will hear it trying to ignite the bulbs.
my 2007 is doing the same thing with the passenger side. Replaced bulbs still did it, Just passeger side. Now bought new denso ballasts and bulbs, still passenger side going off. took the ballast out and just hooked them up to a battery still just the ballast that was on the passenger side is turning off. Anyone got any clue why there is so many problems with toyota hid lights?
@TyConway I called Lexus today and this guy without a flinch in his voice told me $2600 to fix this. & that I can't just replace the ballast because they won't go in and change it. IT CAN BE CHANGED AND IT IS USUALLY THE PROBLEM.
@TyConway How did you get the ballast out of the headlamp assemblies? I have the assemblies on a bench and removed the ballast screws but can't get the lamp connector pigtail (that's attached to the ballasts) out. There isn't enough space in the headlamp assembly to fish it out.
@ltnxn i have the same problem, please reply and update with the status of your bulb!! i need help. i bought mine in 2007 so almost 4 years ago. do i still have warranty?
Update: Took my car to Lexus and it turned out that I had a bad D4S HID bulb. Lexus replaced free under warranty :) If you don't have warranty, my invoice say Lexus is charging $227.85 for the HID bulb and $31.48 for labor. So after tax and misc fee, grand total Lexus want for this is $281.50!!

@kaspia Mine is doing the same! I can most likely do it myself, but should I ask the dealer to check for moisture in the ballast? Thanks.

@TyConway do you head the ballast starting up (that humming sound)? maybe you can check all your engine bay fuse or replace the ify fuse?

@kholberger1 just cut it off... I installed aftermarket 55w ballasts so I needed to remote mount them due to the size difference.
