The age of the superjumbo is coming to an end: the A380 will never make its break-even quota and more 747s are being sold as freighters than passenger craft. Smaller jets reign because they're more capable in purpose and far less liability in an accident. 737s used to be feeder planes, now they're transoceanic and transcontinental. Airbus was really thinking backwards with the A380 and it shows.
no wait did she just say A JUMBO JET, JUMBO JET, that's a 767-300ER is not a jumbo jet it is a regular international jet, to make it easier call it a BOEING ****NOT ***** A JUMBO JET.
i hope she wasn't making this to pilots because i am not going to listen to her be cause she called that 767-300ER a ****Jumbo jet****
OK - FOLKS - STOP ARGUING... IN THE ACTUAL FOOTAGE (at night) OF THE INCIDENT.. IT IS A 4 (FOUR)-ENGINED AIRCRAFT - NOT TWO (2).. AND IT MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT A BOEING.. THEREFORE, THAT LEAVES EITHER an A-340 or an A-380! So go suck on something that will passify you..The 'AFTER' footage is WRONGLY showing a damaged wing on some other UNRELATED WING!!! WTF?? JUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE CRAPPY NIGHT-TIME FOOTAGE of the incident ITSELF!!!! I've forgoten more than you'll ever know about airplanes!
@MrAAFilms The 767 was the jet that clipped the tale of the regional get. And you are completely wrong about the Jumbo Jet thing. Jumbo Jets don't need to have 4 engines.
They can have 2 or 3... I doesn't really matter. The Boeing 777 is one of the biggest Jumbo Jets in the world, and it has only 2 engines. The DC-10 and MD-11 have 3 engines and they're also Jumbo Jets.
@InDeepSchit you have no clue. A Boeing 767-3 or 767-4 are considered jumbos or "Heavies" by Air Traffic Control. I know more about planes than you do by this because i can tell. I got family members working for Delta Airlines.
@barrow29 i don't know. the report said the pilot "thought" he'd make it but didn't. sounds like careless piloting. i'm not into aviation or know anything about the field but i have worked all my life and know that that kinda of work behavior would get you canned anywhere else. what is being a pilot if not a job?
@xxbrkdwnxx a profession to answer your question. and also it is the towers job to tell him if he is not clear. as it appeared by his behavior he already had clearance to taxi
It seems everyone is confused about which aircraft were involved in both incidents (not crashes god dammit!) - The JFK incident was an Air France A380 (F-HPJD) that clipped a Comair CRJ-700 (N641CA). This BOS incident was a Delta 767-300W (N185DN) clipping Atlantic Southeast Airlines CRJ-900 (N132EV)...some people really need to learn more, kudos to those who got it right...unlike the reporter who says the the 'jumbojet' was off to Amsterdam
People.. Smaller jet was a BOMBARDIER RJ (Regional Jet) & the larger aircraft was either an A340 or an A380 (can't quite tell if there are two levels) but either way it has 4 engines, so it is NOT an A330 - and definitely not a Boeing 747.
@Vention3 Look at the video again. Its a Damn Boeing 767. I know those winglets on that aircraft. Its not a A340 or A380 or B747. My god people! You suriously dont have any clue. RESEARCH before you post!

@mrlego330 Dude.... DO some goddamn reaserch. I know more about planes than anyone and plus i have family that are pilots for Delta Airlines. Fuck you man. Google the damn FAA report and tell me if thats a A330 or B767. The winglet on a A330 is similar to that of a 747-4. A 767 with winglets look more like a modified CRJ-900 winglet. It was torn off. Look at this part of the video for proof of a 767: 0:40 and then look at: 0:38 Tell me that that winglet is not damaged then...
@12alltel12 how could that be confused on a A330 dosent have that knd of wing tips how bout u look at one then look at the BOEING plane that collied with the smaller plane
@mrlego330 I thought that too at first, but once you look closer it's a 767, remember that's a pic of the aircraft that hit the regional jet with the broken winglet. At first glance it does look like a A330 but it's not
@mrlego330 WTF it was a 767-300. To begin with, A330's don't have wing tips that tall and second, The A330's Exit Doors are placed in different places.
@wcelton Don't be absurd. If anything, size requires an exponentially larger margin for error than 'driving' a normal vehicle. Any pilot will tell you that patience is a virtue in aviation. Something akin to a 'rear-end collision' is woefully unacceptable and worthy of reprimand.
@rabbitcancer I am a pilot thank you very much. And it may not be a matter of patience. It could have been the that the smaller jet wasn't in his appropriate position. It's pretty difficult to see out of the cockpit of such a large aircraft.
@hawkenboy54 You must not be bright, but I know what a 767 looks like, you can't even spell simple words. If you think its a A330, google the incident and find the NTSB report. You might be surprised...
@hawkenboy54 I was about to agree until you look at the type of engine the 767-300ER had, also the reason I thought it was is the winglet looked exactly like a A330. I know adding winglets to an aircraft wings makes it more fuel efficient, so does this make the CRJ more efficient with its extra winglet on its tail? :L
its rick! but why is is reporting he show pop up in the fucking videos and starting music background was like chuck norris farrted over whole america this moring
@legomaster335 because even though there just the same size of the Greyhound bus or SWIFT Semi Trucks, biger whide body planes are very big, there no mirrors or turn signals on these jumbo like Moder Commercial vehicles.
It makes me wonder... if they put cameras on cars the size of a shoe to avoid hitting stuff... why don't they put them on planes the size of buildings for the same reason??
@karimjwalker and it seems the also teach them to overuse adjectives. SMASHED into the smaller regional jet SLICING the "jumbo jets" wing and MANGLING the regional jet.
@tjampe - well it actually is considered one, as it is a wide-body airliner. a Jumbojet is just another name for large wide-bodied aircraft, such as an A380, 777, 747, etc.
@videoproducer100 The name first appeared on the 747.it's the FIRST and only real jumbojet. it's stupid to call other aircrafts than the 747 a jumbojet, it's just confusing people. The A380 are described a "SuperJumbo" That the name JUmboJet become a callsign for all wide-bodied aircraft is just a sign on lack of knowledge and especially lack of fantasy.
@tjampe - Yes the 747 was the first jumbojet and the A380 is a stupid plane, but that doen't mean that the 767, 777, 787, etc can't be jumbo jets too.
The 767 is not a jumbo-jet. Much worse? It was a wing-strike (not a "CRASH"... those are quite common and serious injuries don't occur. Roadway? It's a taxiway. Period. Stop calling it a jumbo-jet. Thank you for not calling the A380 a giant-jet... sensationalized news, courtesy of ABC. Making drama out of little things is one thing. Getting everything totally wrong, is something else.
The age of the superjumbo is coming to an end: the A380 will never make its break-even quota and more 747s are being sold as freighters than passenger craft. Smaller jets reign because they're more capable in purpose and far less liability in an accident. 737s used to be feeder planes, now they're transoceanic and transcontinental. a 767 is nppt a JumboJet...
tjampe 6 months ago
@tjampe - well it actually is considered one, as it is a wide-body airliner. a Jumbojet is just another name for large wide-bodied aircraft, such as an A380, 777, 747, etc.
videoproducer100 6 months ago
@videoproducer100 The name first appeared on the 747.it's the FIRST and only real jumbojet. it's stupid to call other aircrafts than the 747 a jumbojet, it's just confusing people. The A380 are described a "SuperJumbo" That the name JUmboJet become a callsign for all wide-bodied aircraft is just a sign on lack of knowledge and especially lack of fantasy.
tjampe 6 months ago
