  • hello everyone... Is it really possible for phones/gadgets to be so thin ang transparent? Where are the circuits in those devices/gadgets?

  • @junhehehe08 quantum mechanics, solid state physics, etc. At extremely small scales, things behave a lot differently than they would with classical mechanics. Just like at very high speeds, relativity is a lot different.

  • Interesting and very possible. Everything today points to a future made of glass (without finger prints). And this future is coming faster than we can imagine. It is easy to conclude that: five years ago, who could ever imagine the mobile phones we are using today? Who could ever imagine the softwares and all the functionalities we have today in our machines? Everything is going faster and faster...

  • looks pretty fucking creepy to me

  • wow 2019 use alot of screen . i better prepare myself to be a touch screen supplier

  • thanks microsoft!

  • Ahh, now I see where they're going with Windows 8.

Suddenly 8 is a lot more desirable

  • This will be brought to you by Google and Apple. MS failure to create another OS that can operate on mobile devices is there downfall. MS word is now the only think keeping them alive. And now that major corporations and government departments are ditching that to save money? MS goes the way of IBM.

  • @JDMarine89 Goes the way of IBM? Are you an absolute clown? Do you know how big IBM is? Also, I'm pretty sure WP7 is the best mobile OS out there.

  • @absolutehail Are you a clown. WP7 is a dud like the zune. Android and Apple own that market and for good reason.

  • @JDMarine89 lmao IBM? BAHAHA you're such a fucking cumsquat. Did you know that throughout 2011, they were the 2nd largest company in the world? Yeah, we're throwing IBM up there with ExxonMobil, Walmart, etc. The reason why you don't see IBM products everywhere is because they don't supply to users with an IQ as low as you. Go to any data center, I guarantee you 90% of the hardware AND software will be made and designed by IBM. They're one of very few who design circuits, hardware, AND software.

  • wow-nexus. mmoguildsites. com/ awesome pvp/pve server its 3.3.5 less lagg proffesional staff try it out to day :)

  • corpoate avertising nonsence. if it were from google i could believe it.

  • silly mircosoft, if this is 2019, how the hell are they filming this duhh, idiots

  • Apple will have all this done by 2015.

  • @FlareDemonReborn it's funny because all apple does is design various iproducts, they aren't nearly as involved as actual IT companies are. Sure you may have a macbook, or your buddy might have one. But take a look around, most schools, industries, labs, etc use microsoft products. Mac OS may LOOK neat, but what can a mac actually do? Why do you think they have parallels or bootcamp! Because people like you always come crawling back.

  • does this mean we have to learn chinese

  • TOO... MUCH... BATTERIES... TO REPLACE!!!!!!

  • @dondonini Nope..did you hear about air electricity flow invention? no wires and baterres anymore soon.

  • @asmirnov2006 I searched, and I couldn't find anything on it. Think you could post a link for me?

  • we haven't had new commercial airlines in forever, what makes microsoft think we'll have em by 2019?

  • @shankpeterman well im sure there will be a new line of airplanes in 5 years... and in 5 years much more technology is gonna be out.. But than again its pry just gonna be a first class PLANE the entire plane.. sad that all this new technology is only gonna be for rich and upper class..

  • @Gh0sty1 Everything starts off for the rich ya dumbass. However depending on wages, demand, investment etc... it becomes accessible for everyone. Learn some economics.

  • Someones gonna hack our holograph mind implants and we will be seeing porn for ever and ever...

  • PORN

    in the future,

it will be everywhere you look

  • true innovation by microsoft- looking forward to seeing this..

Apple just takes their product and adds a camera to it and calls it innovation lol.

  • it scares me how dependent on technology we are. just the other day i left my cell at home by mistake. i used my cousins phone to text, she had an old phone. i had to text my sister through the numerical keys. i was frustrated. i kept touching the screen forgetting it wasn't a touch tone. ahhhh. on my cell i can just speak a text.

  • not a microsoft idea

Try Pranav Mistry via MIT hello!

    I couldn't post the link, I tried.

you'll need to do a search of Ted talks pranav mistry it's the first video with a red background.

credit where credit is due. I think the talk is from 2 years ago.

  • @InNotchoMama He was hired by Microsoft in 2009

  • @sti555king

I missed that, thank you for the clarification.

Although, I'm certain the directions for an inexpensive prototype that we can make, won't be available for free as he promised. Or maybe I missed that one too?

  • @InNotchoMama Unfortunately, I am guessing they have taken over his philanthropist ways with greenbacks and promises. TED has been very good at bringing out some great newcomers but it has also brought the mainstream attention & money that many will fold under.

  • @InNotchoMama Yep. I just watched the ted talk and now I am sad. I'm hoping Pranav didn't sell out :-/

  • every aspect of our daily lives will be connected

most things look possible by that time, but the see through computer screen near the end looked a little too futuristic

  • @Chompyt They already have basic versions of see through screens. just look up OLED screens.

  • Everything piece of technology will come connected with each other. It's pretty cool.

  • pretty scarey

  • Tell Emm Dude. Gash who know whats possible and what is not. Well according to my life experience. Everything is possible. Only possible minds can make them come to reality. If minds with impossible ideas then hoops those minds wont reach anywhere.

We are capable of so much more than this. That i strongly believe in.

Humans should have hope in everything because that is the only thing that keeps us in moving forward. Hope for a better future ;)

  • Take the Kinect for example. It is great hardware, but even at it's expense, it doesn't process fast enough in real time. And is it possible to? Yes. Can we do it cheaply? Heck no!

The iPhone? Well, that's another story. Almost flawless direct manipulation, that Dell tried to mimic on it's laptops, but failed to create a flawless variation (because it calls bulky Windows classes).

And even with flawless software, hardware would be WAY too expensive. "In every home?" Heavily doubt that.

  • @KyvannShrike Do not forget the world economy is growing. So capital to manufacture this will be cheaper in the future than if it existed now.

Remember population growth = demand. Companies will make so much from these technologies and for sure they will be affordable.

Just think about the concept cars. Why concept. They are the cars for the future. The reason why they cant they be produced in large numbers is because the current economy is not suitable. Thus they are for the future.

  • Can I say? I don't think it's impossible. I just think that everything needs to be absolutely reworked. The idea of everyone being able to afford such expensive technology is communistic. The thought that Microsoft would be able to do this so flawlessly is beyond ridiculous. The idea that software, the way it is now, can interact with each other so flawlessly is possible. Software needs to be reprogrammed first (and I mean REALLY reprogrammed, from scratch.)

But they never do that (vista)

  • NO CREO ESTO SERIA MUI GRANDIOSO SI LO LOGRARAN..

  • @DIRECK1 nobody belived the iphone or the xbox kinect either dude... think this may be possible, not all of it of course but we have great chances for this to happen

  • 3:00- imagine porn on that bigass wall

  • @ellixus Mhmm :] in 3d =D

  • @bubbleren hell yeah :)) watch porn as if you're actually there

  • @ellixus o but ican

  • Woah my friend just got this program for free.. Wtf... check this out /watch?v=1bXyY0Evx8o

  • So what happens if your newspaper crashes?

  • @BobTheRedo Lawl Nice one!

  • haha people will be noobs IRL not just online!

  • That was SOOOOOO Adobe After Effects!

  • @MicH1g4N hahahhahaha....

  • Aha... and the cost?! What about the cost to implement something like this? Would Bill Gates only implement all this technology?

  • this is , ... just ... just wow i dont care if its from microsoft or apple to know what a future can be is just, ... wow

  • And babies will still be dying in africa.

  • 3:53

    chang wang??? those racists!!!!

  • @koreanborn165 hahahahahahahahahahaha.

  • Well, it will happen... Just wait for Apple introduce this technology! APPLE RULEZ!

  • After the Milo Natal video, I honestly don't trust Microsoft.

  • Backtrack 2019 ever noobies can use It, :P

  • apple doesnt have SHIT on this!

  • touchscreen WIN

  • They wish.

  • And than you get a virus and the whole world blows up

  • in the future Our children will be Separated into different classes because of race

    oj this looks badass

    my freaking newspaper not crash!

  • OMG that would be so cool! You'll be doing everything with your palm and fingers, but this city looks so sterile though. I mean look at the buildings-where have all detached houses or something?

  • @KikaWNR Sorry, it should be "where are" ;P

  • 2019? Silly Microsoft.... forgot about 2012

  • @bootykicker1 2012 will not happen, just a stupid rumor, it won't happen

  • "have your boarding passes ready" "sorry my boarding passes battery died :("

  • the newspaper.. its not going away. its just gonna get more badass. until it crashes or gets a virus.. for a piece of paper that makes sh*t move its worth it.

  • @DunkableDave HAHAHA, from the parody of Microsoft's Vision

  • I think the e-mug is a pointless device. Are we getting so addicted to information that someone at a certain moment absolutely needs to know the temperature of their coffee? Who cares!

  • @ophelius111 Lol. I also thought of that.

  • I especially love the e-paper.

  • Considering technology improves at an exponential rate, meaning more progress in the next 10 years will happen than the last 10, a lot of this might happen. Just look at what we have now that resemble this video(surface computing, ipads/iphones, touch screens. I don't think microsoft's vision is way off.

  • ye right maybe in 50 years but for sure not in 2019

  • @RangeFell0w lol 2050? Do you remember maybe, 2 years ago when 1 or 2 movies were in 3D? Now, almost all of them are in 3D. This is an example of how fast technology is growing.

  • @Darkpirater 2 years ago u say, cameron was working on it for 6 years... and in 50 years it is 2060 ;) also yes in 50 years maybe but for sure not in 2019

  • it's on... microsoft, if the world isn't like that in 2019 i'm gonna comment in this video!! lol and you'll hear me hahaha :P

  • lacking in the title of another number, which is 1 it would be better to have written that they see a vision of the future in the year 2119.

  • so...microsoft's vision of 10 years time is everything will be made by apple? ... eww

  • @kakaze

I didn't know that Apple make new things. They seem take the idea of another and put on a good design.Microsoft makes true innovations.

  • @Zunsclements  look at the design of everything on here. It all looks very appleish

  • @kakaze  appleish? fanboi you suck.

  • @Zunsclements Lol. It is good that Apple and Microsoft do exist. Competition will make this things on the market way faster than imagined. I hope other huge companies get to join the competition so that we can get any of them sooner like the coffee mag. I am so addicted to coffee so yap i always get burned. Fuck It. This shit comes out i wont get burned at all. I will be the first to buy it and that is if i am not dead.

  • in the future, everything is touch screen?

  • fuck me. the futures looking bright

  • Nice tech and innovation, but what a boring corporate interface, no flair or personalisation - and the montage, does no one talk to each other anymore?

  • The only things that seem slightly implausible are the video phone and polarising windows, not because of any lack of technology, but because I doubt such things will catch on. The various companies put billions into video phone technology a few years ago and it failed utterly, and polarising windows would be more or less pointless when you have a perfectly good set of curtains.

  • @nashertheatheist I think the general idea with the windows is that they'll be able to display stuff anyway (like Tony Starks house) so they may as well have a polarising feature too... besides, your curtains can't display tomorrows weather lol.

Video phones will just happen naturally, you use a webcam to chat without even thinking about it.

The reason video phones didn't catch on back in the day was frankly because the tech was just too clumsy.

  • Man, I kind of feel like a caveman now....

    kind of...

Well, infact I don't even know what it's like to be a caveman....

Thumbs up if I just talk too much bullshit...

  • i hope technology and nature is still compatible in the future...

  • They all look so happy while they're at work. Will never happen.

  • Love the add or promotional video! Its amazing the music and everything! With an add like this it better be a promise!

  • Thats a lot of source code we won't be seeing

  • That is so amazing, I've never felt so lucky to be alive in such a time where technology like this is actually going to be doable.

  • @Eventemperednokia Yap. Everyone feels lucky in times like these. But think about how many jobs you will be working to pay your bills.

  • i want to live like that;)

  • I thought we were supposed to have flying cars by now..

  • @azyndragon89 no that's what they thougth in the year 1980 but know we are realistic theres no technology that could make n flying car but maybe in the future we will have enougth technology to make a flying car :)

  • it's not gonna happen...

  • Love the Harry-Potter-ripped-off newspaper :D

  • Highest possibilities for 2020 but we still will manage to have slow, perhaps even slower escalators that carry crazy Asians on them smiling for no apparent reason. I see a great. future. All the computing power in the world, but slow ass escalators

  • @254GENERAL Use the stairs, you fat shit, or buy the thing that some peopel call "patience"?

  • this is impossible, is this doraemon or microsoft??

  • This is bullshit, clouds will look exactly the same!

  • Dude I think in 2019 I could settle down and have a family with the hot woman on the airplane, she's about my age.

  • 0:28 kinda looks phallic

  • the question is " Would i still be able to play counter Strike?"

  • Is it me, or do some of the technology in some scenes make things look more complicated than they already are?

  • So... Everything is touch screen... And Those who has not arms or fingers will be out!?!?!?!?

    Microsoft please research on telephaty.

    :)

    I love this video!!

  • @odekainos well how do u think they function now?

  • nutts

  • amazing

  • Is it me? Or the ending to this video is orgasmic? Dude if this is the future, than holy shizzle!

  • there is nothing new concerning this technology, (minority report, tom Cruise) but what is new is what Microsoft doesn't tell you, and what is pasted all over this vision add. 1 everything is green, climategate? 2 very few people, john p holdren's book ecoscience tells us the government plan on killing at least 80% worlds population using the fraudulent green agenda!

  • @esther19741974 it was a soundstage on mars!

  • @thefirstfirefox do you live there?

  • everythings a goddamn touchscreen

  • And then the woman gets sick but she can't afford to pay to have her cancer curred since she spent all her money curring their grandmother's cancer and she doesn't have enough money left to cure herself despite advances in medicine. If only Americans had socialized medicine or even a single payer system. If only Americans could receive a free college education along with free housing and nutritional meals.

Damn right-wing Republicans and Libertarians trying to ruin humanity's future.

  • great.. practical enough, but what excites me is the things nobody predicts, and I guarentee those things will happen, not this.

The future will be amazing, and I can tell you in purely scientific terms that nobody knows what it will be like.

  • it's nice

  • Just think of getting a Massive BSOD on your Wall .... Looks Awesome Though

  • STILL using Fahrenheit? Hmm...

  • @TesseractOrion: So? In fact, once more than just 3 countries start using Fahrenheit............now THAT will be progress ;-).

  • @TesseractOrion i wish that weren't the case, but we have been stubborn on this one for quite a while.

  • some things are realistic, like the surface computing on the walls and tables, but others like on a newspaper and plane ticket (how to put so much technology into something so thin)

  • nano technology

  • Actually those things are already coming (the flexible e-paper and ticket-like displays). Pricing is closer to the issue. E-paper will cost a lot, as will the tickets at first.

Things are going to get much wierder than that, quite quickly though. Think things like self-organizing computational wall paint for instance. Probably only 20-30 years away.

  • Microsoft Office 2010 is available on my channel along with many other software! Request any program, and I will get it for you! Check my channel out now!!!

  • basically just digital paper everywhere

  • Goolesoft, or Microogle.

  • The funny thing is we already have most of this technology. We just haven't applied it to things like windows and coffee cups.

  • OMG, at 2 min he picks up a real object. Wow, that's so old school.

  • This looks awesome! I hope the future will look like this, but I'm not so sure about electronic news papers.

  • 420 at 2:55, hehe

  • Where's my lighter... ;-)

  • 4:19-4:29 that's some Harry Potter stuff right there.

  • Apple Vision 2010 = iPad :p

  • I saw the iPAD in there

  • They better fucking deliver.

  • If you wanna learn how to get Microsoft office pro 2010 Beta plez click on my user name

  • I just spent all of last week / week before checking out the youtube videos at CES2010. they presented very thin lcd screens, transparent lcd screens, etc. very small light weight form factors.

we went from computers the size of kitchens 30 years ago to computers the size of your wallet with 1000 times the power. that's a 1 million fold increase in efficiency in 3 decades. it's exponentially growing, so the 10 year outlook is merely projecting trends that have been going since 1890.

  • i wounder what will happen the the news paper got a virus hmm...

  • As if those kids would be having a conversation like that.

It would be more like "LOLZ EYE JST 8 A CHEZBURGA".

  • @Mrmusic94, maybe bit think about it what a way for people to connect :)

  • @CCNACayden

Small pieces of grass on each roof wount be efficient, too small to farming and you have to maintain it with water and fertilizer.

as for your resource problem well, unless you know how to farm metal and materials like oil with windows then go right ahead.

As for energy, solar power is very environmental friendly, but the energy from the sun isnt efficient enough as well, if it were we would be using wind, water and solar power ONLY by NOW!

  • Yeah, you guys are right(= I'm into that stuff very much myself, love it & support it. Don't you think higher expectations work as a great motivator. Future's all about Hi-Tech. Let's let Microsoft have a go at it. (=

  • I hope so because I do not believe the world will end in 2012 and you? I am grateful for having responded to respond again.

  • We dont live in exciting times we live in troubled times, we look to make fancy computers and technology to control us and track us easier, when we got bigger problems like depletion of resources, energy, food.

How is ability to facebook in a plane save us from this? Or planting some grass on my roof?

never thought id ever say thanks to hackers who make viruses to crash softwares like windows.

We will probably not face extinction, but we will face global massacre.

  • How will planting some grass on your roof help with energy, resources, food? Well lets think.. Solar energy, plant crops on your roof.. By then we will have resources from plants.. It actually answers alot of the problems.. You just need to know the potential of technology..

  • It is a little bit confusing because most of our surrendings will incorporate information just like web pages so children would have to handle with an increase of information. They will not neccesary need to know the evolution of technology in order to understand the present technology but nevertless is for sure something that will occupy a lot of our time but not a crazy idea if it is a fact that many jobs today will dissapear and new ones will appear.

  • This is more like 2039...look at how slow things changed from 1999 to now...not much if u ask me...

  • are you kidding? the growth of technology and information exploded the last ten years.

  • @valareksic look up "exponential growth of technology" on youtube and click on the first link.

  • Yeah, ppl say they think things should be more advanced today

but i guess its just ok... we already have plans and even certain things from the video

  • I think having this technology by 2019 is definitly possible...but whether it will translate into the mass market...that is the question.
