  • How did they fit an IMAX format camera into the cockpit of an F-15? LOL

  • What bugs me about the film is that there is no mention of the pilot's grandfather's name. I want to read about him. Yes, I love the jets, but the Corsair is the thing that dreams are made of.

  • It is a nice film. But c'mon, 24:35 dont try to sell that to me! Also there are some obvious blue/green screen shots where parts of the planes are obviously superimposed. And most of the sound seem to be done in post production (Foley). It is not really that quite inside a jet, im sure.

  • @Pestilence86 All the fake stuff in the film ruins it completely! I don't consider this a serious documentary about Red Flag for a second... It's a pity, though. Lots of great footage!

  • you are my hero

  • you got it

  • definitely heightened my comfort level of the training the usaf is given before going into battle..

  • For the Search and Rescue Mission... how'd the cameras not give him away? Like if you're looking for someone and see a bunch of cameras, wonder how they did that. ha ha.

  • 6:30 the F-18 arriving from Alberta in Quebec...WHAT???

  • @vpsaline He said arriving from Alberta AND Quebec not "in".

  • The dog fighting scenes seem mostly computer generated. If you look at 21:43 you'll see the aircraft appears to be decreasing in altitude, but the altimeter is actually increasing. Possible explanations for this behavior could include optical illusions with the rapidly varying terrain elevations, but I doubt it.

  • @MrLaCubanisima Actually, my observation had nothing to do with the aircraft's AoA. My observation had everything to do with the altimeter not correctly displaying what was happening outside the cockpit. The terrain was getting closer, yet the HUD indicates a climb. Again, as I stated, this could be an optical illusion, but I don't think it is. Also, the HUD itself seems to have been pasted onto the scene, there's no bounce as the plane moves, its too steady.

  • @naval8viator Your observation is flawed. The altimeter has nothing to do with the terrain. The altimeter, runs off of air density. It does not account for terrain. Only a radar altimeter does that, which the HUD does not display, obviously, if it did it would be illegible during this type of flying. It would distract the pilot, because it would be constantly changing so rapidly. Certain aircraft have a terrain hugging mode, to prevent slamming into the ground, but I don't think the F-15 has it.

  • @MrLaCubanisima I'm well versed in how an altimeter works. Altimeters measure atmospheric pressure relative to sea-level, not density. Again, the aircraft appears to be decending, the terrain is moving closer to the aircraft, yet the altimeter is increasing in altitude. For the third time, this can be explained by an optical illusion from the varying terrain, or because, as I suspect, many of the cockpit shots are faked.

  • @naval8viator

I'll certainly agree with you that the imagery looks fake and is faked to a certain extent, but in your example the flight path marker does seem to be above the level line, so i dunno...they might have faked the entire HUD in afterwards I guess..

but look, the whole thing is probably fake anyway. Dogfight training at couple dozen feet above the ground?

That's turning the hard deck into the actual hard deck. Doesn't sound very safe. Theres a big safety margin for such training.

  • @MrLaCubanisima Furthermore, the AWACS displays are all completely fake. The icing on the cake is that one of the guys that supposed to be flying an F-16 is actually in the back of an F-15 in one of the shots.

  • @naval8viator And if you look close enough, it does bounce! ;-D

  • badass!!

  • obviously they had to put a couple of women in this film, just to show it wasn't being sexist. Hate that crap.

  • wow, i enjoyed that, thanks...

  • Theres nothing like being on the fixing end and getting to watch the dropping of some 50 500 lb bombs at once, once in the day, and once at night. Those were some of my career highlights of a stay in an A-6 squadron.

  • Ace Combat any one ?

  • @cwozildjian yep :)

  • Nice job. Too bad it also involves killing people...

  • Reminds me of Ace Combat, damn I wish my sight was good. Wish I can become a pilot.

  • @soulknight89 You still can! Dont lose hope. They now accept people that get lasik eye surgery so dont give up quite yet.

  • Bunch of fags!

  • This is better than any video game!

  • 41:50 Kaboom!

  • idk... but i think that 2:49 is quite similar to a flight sim....

  • morons working for the bankers to take over all countries for a global Government. And they have no idea they are doing it. Because of propaganda.. They will just follow orders. and do anything

  • yea i wanna be a pilot and bomb every country that ever existed because of a lie.

  • Battlefield 3?

  • Very good!

  • very very nice !!!

  • Hollywood!

  • I swell with pride as an American. Thank you for your service.

  • Excellent video no matter what the dumb detractors say!

  • @army714 I'm surprised a rock kicking ass clown grunt can form a full sentence... congrats.

  • @army714 Your username hides your bias well.

  • look at 22:35 !!! LMAO!

  • Wow. I'm...that was beyond amazing in all aspects! What an amazing film.

  • A-10 rock

  • Israeli Air Force gets no mention XD

  • @C6BD Not to worry IAF is one of the best

  • @C6BD unfortunately...

  • Ricer888. Ur gay u prob wanna be an accountant when u grow up haha

  • This was a sic video

  • fake and gay

  • looks a little staged, for example at 28:05 there is a guy chilling out right next to a running jet engine.

  • @rogierkraan

That's not chilling out at all! One guy operates the engine from within a control unit (he is behind the window) while the other guy makes adjustments on the engine while it is running.

I've done this many times at Volkel Airbase on F16 engines.

  • instead of all those countries using those resources fual, money, etc toward world peace they are too busy measuring each others penises.

  • @iplz Remember you said that when you really need a well trained response from the military to save your ass.

  • @Hvygunner from what?

  • Pity I haven't had time to see it in IMAX...

    Just one word. Awesome.

I would have thanked 10 times if I were able to.

  • Awesome!

    Thanks

  • 13:35

  • Thank G_d for all the Marine (oorah!), Naval, and Air Force aviators who over the years have saved ground-pounders' a**es

  • @aplswigan i think we got it

  • The UK does not have any Harriers anymore, the last 74 were taken out of service in 2010 and were sold to the American military last November.

  • @aplswigan this max film took more time making so it might have been made during 2009

  • nice falcon mod^^

  • That was AMAZING! I've been in aviation for 36 years as a pilot and a mechanic and this stuff never gets old. Thank you for uploading this great video.

  • The UK would not have sent RN Sea Harriers to a hoopla like this. They would have sent RAF tornado Fs. As the Harrier is just not built to fight in this kind of battle.

  • Not bad! All this, free fuel, and you never have to get your hands near a grease gun or a wrench.

  • Even though I want to be Heli pilot ( in ALAT ), I must admit those powerful horses are oustanding, lucky guys !

  • 11:52 this is the key to America's friendly fire problems right there.

  • @PugzM BLUE ON BLUE xD

  • @PugzM Now that's funny...

  • @PugzM No...it's really not. They're doing that for dramatic effect.

  • israeli air force is the best!!!!!!

  • breathtaking, words just don't describe this piece of film brilliancy!

  • Dammed awesome!

  • I guess my 6 year old passion is true. This is what I want to do for the rest of my life...

  • It would be nice to go there sit on a mountain smoking bud watching these guys play. Why dont they sell tickets to this shit?

  • @beeferetown I bet most of the guys buying tickets will be speaking Chinese or Arabic.

  • man id need a bag incase i get ill.

  • Wonderful! Thanks a lot ;)

  • wonderful, spectacular and speechless thanks

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  • This is awesome. :D

  • 8:08 love dat!
