Parduba Trumpet Mouthpiece review by Kurt Thompson

Hello, I'm wondering if I should buy this mouthpiece. I'm in high school (playing at an advanced level) and my mariachi teacher is begging me to get this mouthpiece because he says it's worth it for those 4-5 hour gigs. But I've heard my brass instructor from school say it's going to kill my tone and so many bad things......What do you recommend? (I'm currently playing on a Back 3C)

@hulkhogan503 Exactly, I was just going to ask the same thing. Not a good explanation of the how and why of a Parduba mouthpiece.

@Johnflugelhorn I would never give a HOW and WHY of a mp because each individual trumpet player's embouchure and dental setup is unique. It is usually amateurs like yourself that look to a mp for answers to their challenges on trumpet rather than technique. Once you have played the horn in a qualitative way, you will naturally gravitate towards mp's that will enhance your playing. Also, taking some lessons for you would not be a bad idea!
