  • Don't use this method guys.this guy I s totally dumb.you will broke your MacBook

  • fuckkkk youuuuuuu i totally broke my macbook!!!!!!!!!!

  • Always wear an antistatic armband when repairing computers! You also need an antistatic work mat on the desk, and both of these need to be grounded securely. Failure to do this, and you have no fucking idea what you are doing, and you are certainly not a professional.

  • I just replaced the LCD, this guy is a fucking idiot.

  • by far worst most inaccurate mac video on youtube. thx for nothing.

  • quick suggestion the new models of the macbook come with a button case that can be removed in one single large peas so if your mad at your macbook for how complicated it his to take it apart then you might want to upgrade..:)

  • fuck there is now a crack in my case fuck!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent!

  • why do i have to remove the RAM and HD??

  • @Appleaddict22 well , if you take you mac to a repair place and don´t remove your HD people will most likely be able to look at your porn collection .

  • @WakkoXtreme Dont need porn bor.. ;) but its ok dont worry

  • hey can u change the whole cover ? of the mac to color black ? pls reply baack

  • weon desde chile Gracias!!!

  • you ow me a new macbook, i snapped my macbook

  • @james3765733 did you really?!

  • i want to try this but then im too scread.

im not like those rich ppl, when some thign is broken it dont matter

  • @happyelly1 I was scared to but since my warranty was void according to apple they fixed my MacBook Pro once and then hard drive was failing.

They wanted to charge 610 dollars I was like what the hell if I paid for apple care almost 400.

I decided to take the risk and replace my Western Digital Scorpio 2.5-Inch 500 GB SATA for only $65.00 not bad for 600 bucks.

  • Thanks man! I have now removed the top case and am letting it dry to see if I can recover from a coffee spill. I couldn't have done it without you! If I end up buying a used one to replace it I'm coming to you!

  • @MJCauley Hey, I just spilled coffee on my Macbook this morning and I'm freeking out! What happened to yours .... is it dead?!

  • lol no shit eh

  • what do you use the torch driver for?

  • I had to also remove three tiny screws on the inside panel of the battery compartment as well as three screws on the bottom not mentioned in this video.

  • this tut is better than PowerbookMedic, you clearly have better experience, thank you for uploading.

  • You can't afford Macbook? Check out giveaway at macbook7, com Go and get yours

    I like it

  • Yeaaap!, Same mistake here. But at least you have an excuse.

  • Yeaaaap! same mistake here....At least you have an excuse.

  • cheers mate, this proved to be a great help to me when taking apart my gf's macbook.

don't worry bout those pricks whinging about the 3 screws missed in this tutorial, anyone with half a brain would have seen them and realised their model was different!

    thanks again

  • You sound like HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey... Good video tho thanks!

  • we did the same , thanks ......

  • it might help to put what year macbook that is. cause the 2009 macbooks are completely different from the others. and they change the style every year. so ill laugh my ass off when your dumbass self gets sewed. dick. use your regular voice too. the one without the puberty sound. go to hell.

  • @dylanhester20 if you stuff up you're macbook by taking it apart because you were following instructions on a youtube video you deserve to have the macbook broken. dont blame others because you dont know what you're doing. if you have a problem or you want to upgrade something take it to an apple shop you cheap ***. im sure there is something in the apple terms and conditions saying if you taken apart a macbook an you stuff it up its you're own fault an apple isnt liable (not in those words).

  • @pauldonald how about you go fall out of a goddamn window and stay out of my business before you get your ass kicked . dickmunch. yank the dick out of your ass and stop trying to be a hard ass. cause it sure as hell isnt working .

  • why would ANYONE wanna take apart their macbook?

  • idiot, take this video off youtube, this is not how to remove the case, moron

  • STOP! Read the two highest rated comments

  • This video should be called "I purposely try to deepen my voice while filming a video that no one cares about"

  • wow those 3 screws you didn't tell us about almost made me break my topcase, terrible.

  • where can you buy a new top case?

  • @jimmybenfante me!, i service macs...but i live in australia...no but just search for a mac service centre close to you, they'll help you out ;)

  • @David2377 what state in Aus?

    cheers

  • what about putting it back? now i'm screwed.

  • @JimmyTheMute hahaahahahaha

  • @JimmyTheMute ah but yea, if you got it off and can't get it back on, always use an egg carton to hold and remember your screws, or foam..., but its kinda straight forward

  • Why do you instruct people to remove the 4 harddrive carrier screws?? Has nothing to do with the keyboard removal... And you forgot the 3 near the RAM slots... CRUCIAL!

  • Ha, you beat me to the punch. I just got back from school about an hour ago and was about to post this same message. I just did this procedure, which is VERY helpful but indeed very crucial that you mention the three screws near the RAM as I could have screwed up the top case if I hadn't noticed that when it wasn't coming off.

  • there is a cd stuck in my drive and the top case wont come off on the side where the cd goes in. anybody know about this?

  • to get the cd out take 2 credit cards and stick them both in the drive. one in the bottom and one in the top. if it doesnt work keep trying because i tried it with my imac g3 and it worked. im not sure about the macbook but its a slot loading drive so it must work

  • @sonicjihad7 it's the 3 screws near the ram stick drive remove those and it will come off then find out how to open up ur optical drive then once thats open u can fix it :)

  • The tutorial omits the fact that you need to remove the 3 screws underneath the L bracket near the RAM slots. Others have posted this critical info below.

  • Is there an actual way to remove just the keyboard? My top case faded and I only need to replace the white part around the keys. Thanks!

  • my macbook battery latch is stuck, is there any other way to dissasemble other than through the battery?

  • can a macbook start up without its hard drive?

  • wtf NO

  • yeah it can also boot with an SSD Solid State Drive. lol

  • @gootoe999 no the operating system is on the hdd

  • @gootoe999 Are you Retarded? Where do you think the OS is installed?

  • is there a tutorial, to REMOVE the side where the apple logo is..... i dont want to replace the screen. just the side where the apple is......................PLEASE HELP ME!

  • !!!!! Attention !!!!

Anyone doing this take out the screws near the ram that this tutorial misses... unless you want a broken top of course :P

  • @AlienSexDog You dumb too...

  • you are missing a couple screws near the ram

  • where can I get the tools to do this?

  • OK, spilled water on my macbook. I got the drive out but what type of cable do I get to connect and transfer data from my old drive to my new macbook.

  • 2.5'' HDD enclosure

  • Google a HDD dock, this is much easier than a HDD enclosure

  • just put the old hard drive into your new macbook and get a flash drive or something and slowly keep transferring and swapping hard drives.

  • oh gee so macbooks do have fans

  • why?

  • Don't forget to remove the (3 or 4) screws under the RAM L bracket.

Can this video be updated to correct this important omission.

  • Comment removed

  • me too you idiot....after you remove the L bracket you have to remove the 3 tiny screws behind it. This tutorial left it out so when i was trying to remove the top case i nearly bent it and broke my top case. This tutorial goes through so much detail and then the idiot forgets to mention those screws.

  • thanks for making an incomplete tutorial, i almost broke my macbook in half because of the FOUR screws u missed. JESUS!!!!!!!

  • @oktavius76 Same here! FAR OUT!!!! !!! Redo the Tutorial properly Dude!!!!!!

  • @oktavius76 You dumb boy...

  • this video helped me a lot.

  • this is a boring video

  • pretty sure removing the top case on your own voids the applecare extended warrantee. I have a white macbook and I wanted to put a black keyboard on it, both for looks, and both for function. personally the black track pads are alot smoother then the white ones. idk, it might be an OCD thing but I think the black keyboards are nicer to the touch.

  • i put a black deck on my macbook too. ... way nicer.

  • wow its that easy to upgrade ram and harddrive in the future! got to Love Mac

  • Uh, no ram upgrade here. No tools needed for that.

No Hard drive upgrade here, either - that's a dirt simple procedure, too...

Did you even watch the video? LOL

  • hahaha im was just saying that if you ever did go to change it it would be so easy...

    read before you comment idiot

  • my beloved mac book has a cracked screen and APPLE WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!

  • but im gonna send it off to a reseller.

  • Yes -- Apeguero figured something important out. You've got to take at least one of the 3 screws behind the L bracket out (the one closest to the hard drive bay), possibly all 3. Otherwise, excellent instructions!

  • i just sent my macbook to apple and they installed me a new top case. its bran new. but on the left side theres a bulge. im thinkin about takin it apart and seeing whats in the way.

  • thanks for the info.... btw i love this guy's voice :)

  • Does anyone know where I can get a new keybaord and track pad for my MacBook?

  • Ebay's the best place, just bought a brand new one for £25, it arrived today, looks pretty good!

  • yeah...right

  • thats cool but why would you want to do that

  • lol im gonna have a black and white macbook!yay!

forth comment its better than first!

  • You forgot the 3 screws behind the L bracket. These 3 screws need to be removed for the cover to be taken off.

  • Well done. Thanks for the great video. It's a money saver.

  • damn that looks hard...
