Yeah they are. The tire was designed to be a M/T. The way a M/T works is that you need lots of wheel speed. This is so after the tire picks up mud in the tread, it can be flung out "by spinning" so a clean, new "bite" can be achieved. So yes, Boggers are meant to spin! But the byproduct of HUGE lugs is that they work for crawling and all kinds of off road uses.
True but in snow, they lack the siping needed for grip. I'm sure this guy was just playing and having fun, which means lots of wheel spin!! Of course, the lack of siping is indicative of most MUD tires!
@ikon03 dude, thats were your wrong, i know jeeps aint made for racing but before i put my lift and tires on my jeep i put like 2g's into the engine to compensate for the power lost for the tires i was gonna put on and i went racing with it for fun and up to 120-140 km/h there is nothing in front of me!!!!!! am not talking about 400 pony chargers and stuff like that but civic si and jetta 1.8t and all that shit, had nothing on me, now with my tires i get passed by a firefly!!!!lollll joke :)
@ikon03 i am also a big jeep fan and agree with you that it isnt winning anything, but not because of the tire, because of the 2.5L its running. but just feed it some mud and it will all be good
2.5L , 5.13 gears, 37's ... no problem. Im running an 01' TJ and plan to run 35's with 5.13 gears, even with the 2.5L 5.13's will let me fly down the highway or crawl up an insane crack...who cares abou the motor, you gear it right and you can run any tire you want.
the whining of the transfer case, ahhyes, memories, once you know how much wine combined with the growl of your exhasut is right, your a real jeeper, there's a sweetspot that sounds mint where gas mileage and traction come together, only in a jeep
i hear my transfer case when i go above 30mph. because sometimes i put er' in 4wd when there is snow on roads and it really gets noticeable and i was just wondering if that high a speed was bad for front differential and transfer case
yes it is a transfer case, and it's no big deal, to me that whininig brings back memories of roads in upstate NH in the snow, it's nothing but good, and a real jeeper knows by the sound of the tcase and motor where the traction is
naa i was referring to the guy above saying he was impressed on the tire spin with a 4 banger and 37's. And btw wtf!!!!! your still running a stock 35 and u havent broken that shit yet runnin 37's ?????
What lift does this jeep have? I see that it is still a spring under. I have 4 1/2 rubi lift and 3 on the body with 35 Swampers, on my YJ. And i still hit my fenders from time to time.
Honestly I am kind of impressed by this video. A 4 cylinder 120 HP jeep was spinning 37" very high traction tires in 6 " of snow without too much difficulty. Cool.
The older the yuppies get, the more attractive they start to look. Just try and get a 3.8 v-6 in it soon.

wow didn't know that, thanks for the info :) i think ill pick up some M/T's this spring :)
sparts227 2 years ago
no need to spin boggers to clean them out... they clean at almost any wheel speed unless you're in thick clay mud.
