Ummmm heres an error. Spain NEVER took over Portugal.... @ 2:24 it shows Portugal get covered over as Spain. There was a point in time when both were rulled by the same king as 2 distinct and seperate countries with different monetary systems, government, etc. The king of Portugal had died with no direct heir. The current King of Spain however was related to him, so thus he became the king of both countries. PORTUGAL was NEVER taken over/turned into SPAIN though.

It would be a major though divided empire troughout all European middle ages which ended with the last and definitive fall of the last lasting part of "the" Roman Empire: the fall of Constantinopel.

I had never heard this before, that the German area was called the Holy Roman Empire from around 1100 to 18 something. I think this is bullshit. I found it very interesting that, in the article, Voltaire was quoted saying, "The Holy Roman Empire of German was not Holy, Roman or an Empire." It was a bunch of duchies aligned togehter. That is all. To call it the HRE is misleading.

For instance, the Kievan Rus is still expanding, the Reconquista hasn't started in Iberia. The HRE controls Northern Italy, part of the reason the Pope hates them.

There's an official definition of countries which often differs from the way people feel. Many Northern Irish people feel British even though they don't actually live on Britian... you have to acknowledge the official definition otherwise we'd be saying things like Poland is not Poland because the original borders are almost completely different.
