  • Interesting version. Click on mine for a big band arragement that is more like it was written.

  • i want to replace that drummer.

  • @monkinator66 He should not have been there in the first place!

  • suena fatal!!! Sere un ignorante, pero me parece una puta mierda!!

  • Wow, tonight we just had a concert and this was one of our songs, except it was the full band arrangement so of course it was different. fun

  • Settle down "fartpacker413". Check out my band's new video "Peccadillo Circus" if you want to hear some proper jazz.

  • there's nothing to settle down about, I wasn't freaking.

and plz remember that that last fumble was supposed to be a flag, yet they did miss many flags that day...

  • this sounds like a different version of manteca from what ive heard. but still awesome

  • This performance doesn't seem balanced at all to me. The altos are too dominant. The drums seemed too loud in the first part of the piece. Maybe it's just the recording. I do think that the altos are playing quite well.

  • Russ pwns!

  • FATAL!!!!!

  • are you sure this is manteca?

  • @tubaplayer01 listen to paquito d'riveras manteca

  • horrid

  • I'm still siding with what I said ten months ago, but the drums are WAY too loud for this piece.

  • Matt Patnode is a teacher of mine, and what a teacher he is. I've also taken lessons from Russ Peterson at IMC, and they're both outstanding teachers. If you ever get a chance to see these cats play, it's more than worth it.

  • I saw Matt Patnode in one of his very early performances. It was at the Plattsburgh Jazz Festival in Plattsburgh, NY. The band was playing "Gospel John" and it morphed into a sax solo, and Matt just played some insanely sick riffs that brought the freaking house down. And that was high school. Dude still rocks. I got chills playing trumpet behind him, and chills listening to the quartet! This is great stuff. Is the CD still available?

  • my goodness, i don't even know what to see. That was insane. I've gotta see these guys live

  • Tri-tone Subs rule.

  • Really good playing but i kinda think drums just get in the way of a sax 4tet. Good drumming though.

  • That was SOOO AWESOME! The altissimo on those altos were IMPECCABLE! Great job.

  • im now saying it wasnt great! it was awsum! but why do lots of sax players get soooooooo impressed by altissimo? its not like its the most difficult thing to master!

  • Only because it was so clean.

  • i'm struggling :-P

  • Russell Peterson!! WOO! two altos amazing... the drummer was too freaking loud for the coolness to get out just sounds like a bunch of garbling.

  • drummer killed the coolness of the band and arrangement

  • hmm, kind of sounds like a highschool cutting contest

  • great job!!! everyone should buy this album!! good job uncle russ -the peterson family

    p.s. we love u!!!

  • I was at this show! It was excellent. I've got both albums.

  • Can someone teach me to play sax like this?
