Yah, I downloaded the English version and it looks just like 6.18, so they must have added a subbed version of the game while still updating the game. Uh, but for why it not letting it show any letters, that I have no idea. The thing I can only tell you is to change your LOCALE to Japanese. If you don't know how to do that, then either look it up, or I'll just tell you the steps.

For version 6, it seems like there are "extras" in the game based on how you name your character.

If you name yourself "むてき" then you are invincible

If you name yourself "サウスパーク" then the game almost completely changes.

If you name yourself "ヒロシ" then the character avatars go back to the old versions.

Well, you actually find out about one of the extras AFTER you complete the game, but since they don't really add much to the game (in fact, you probably shouldn't use muteki on your first play - I recommend against using muteki the first time), it is really not much to just spoil them right now.

So many Japanese creators are all about atmosphere and pacing, and this one uses those awesomely, which is what makes it so effective I think.

Yah, well one of my friends suggested me to do "Amnesia: The Dark Decent", so that's what we're going to do next for 'Let's Play' episodes. It still would be better if we were able to read and understand the Japanese in Ao Oni.

I have the Amnesia game already set-up, the only thing that we're going to do is, I'm going to invite my friend to spend the night, so that it will be me, him, and my sister doing Let's Play - Amnesia: The Dark Decent. I haven't played it yet, so I'm excited!

@ZaTaishou I've been watching a playthrough of Amnesia, without commentary so as to get the whole experience, and I've found it not nearly as scary as Ao Oni. Then again, it employs different scare tactics, so it all depends on what gets to you the most.
