He has played in the last 7 grand slam finals and i hope number 8 is on the way.
The matches between nadal and federer were great to watch but nadal has won a lot of matches by pushing it to the limit and thats why he has a lot of injuries. Federer wins a lot of matches with short points and is more relaxted on the court and always has a great balance
he sucks balls i met him as a person and yeah he forced his body 2 much -.- lol i gave his autograph away federer <3 king 4 evar :D and nadal has suffered a lot from his parents divorce but wat can u expect spanish cock sucker
Yes Roger is probably the best tennis player of all time, however as shown in the U.S Open it seems that Nadal is having no trouble with his knees and more of an abdominal problem. However I feel that Rafa will get back into shape and could definitely over come Fed at any Grand Slam. And definitely on the clay still
fuck you idiot !!! did you see the masters championship in london ??? the idiotic nadal cant win at least a set !!! roger will still win slams for sure but if he doesnt win some of them i dont see nadal winning those that roger couldnt !!! that im so sure he barely will lose some of them !!!! get it ...now NADAL IS NOTHING BUT A CLAY PLAYER !!!!
Wow how about you don't say anything completely ignorant again. I think last time I checked Nadal won the Australian and Wimbledon apart from winning at the French. And I seem to remember he also prevented Federer from earning his record breaking slams at Wimbledon and depriving him from his win at the French. Not saying Federer isn't a great player which he is but don't say Nadal is just a clay player when hes won more than just clay titles.
and yet he's so far the first and only player to actually hold simuntaneously the grand slam titles in clay, grass and hardcourt... I think there's a flaw in your argument mate
all i have to say is what federer says himself , we'll make the counts at the end of the career. let's wait until both federer and nadal stop their career and we'll see then who's the best...
everybody is making a big deal about Federer completing his career grand slam and equalling pete's record. Nadal already has three of the four slams. All he has to do is win the US open and HE would comlete a grand slam. So yeah I think at this point, in his age he's better than Federer was. Maybe not as many wins or grand slams, but on a better pace and a lot calmer than federer was before. stronger too
Federer and Nadal are one of the finest players tennis will ever see.Their on court rivalry is a treat to the tennis world and it surpasses Bjorn borgs and Mc'Enroe's rivalry...they both will be one of the most talked in the history of tennis itself...hope this contest continues and hope both achieve their dreams
by the way they play tennis they surpass borg and mcenroe but the borg and mcenroe rivalry surpasses federer and nadal because their personality and styles were so different. Therefore a little bit more interesting, federers and nadals personalities and styles are very similar to each other therefore not as much interesting as borg and mcenroe.
But thats my opinion other than that i agree with you.
I just realized, Roddick should've sang this song to Federer after Federer beat him 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 at the 2007 Australian Open Semifinals. Would've been perfect. Even if he butchers the song, it'd work perfectly.
And mono had a much bigger effect on Federer than you all realize. It has made him slower and has taken away all of his practice time. It has caused him to hit at least 400% more forehand errors, and reduced his court coverage.
rafa might win the us open and australian. but i think roland garros and wimbledon probably for sure. and federer won't even come to finals i think.. he had his best time.
Federer hat mono in the beginning of this year. Mono can stay in your system for a year and longer!!! I agree that Nadal is incredible but I wouldn't write off FedEx yet. Next year will show if he can be on top of the game again. I think he can.
omenow dnt compare the sky with the soil..dnt start dreaming until it happens.. let nadal come to side by side federer wht record he his holding for the last 5 yrs thn u can say tht nadal is better..if u wnt to tell the future go n post in horoscope!!
01914787, I expressed a true fact: Nadal with 22 is better than Federer with 22. It is not fair to compare Roger at 27 with Rafa being 5 years younger. I did not express a dream, I just said that IF Nadal maintains his progression he will be the best in History; no one has won more than him at his age. Now Nadal is number 1 and Olympic champion. He probably won't be number 1 for 5 years, but I think that he will win more tittles than any other tennis player. But we will have to wait and see.
Ledwix, man, is it so difficult 2 understand? Nadal is 22. He's been improving since he became a Pro. Roger stopped improving; Nadal just gets better and better. Federer at 22 did not dominate. He Improved with the years and then dominated. Nadal with 22 is much better than Roger at his age. If he maintains his progression he'll be the best in History; no one has been as good as him at his age. Nadal is much better on hard court now than a year ago. You have to see things in perspective.
It's not "so difficult 2 understand." I know what you're saying, man, but we can't make these assumptions that he will improve enough to win the US Open and Aussie Open multiple times. If he wants a shot at Sampras's record, he's going to have to improve a TON, still. I know his serve has gotten really great this year, and his backhand is now scary-good, but the "if he maintains" thing is too much of an assumption. It over-hypes things that are in the present; the perspective is too small.
And uh, Federer went 74--6 in 2004 with 11 singles titles, a year when he was 22 for the majority of the season. If that doesn't fall under the category of dominance, then nothing does. Nadal is 64-8 this year, and even that has seemed like total ownage. Bottom line is that we can't get ahead of ourselves.
Ledwix, of course that Federer dominated, I did not discuss that. Roger is incredibly good. What I'm saying is that the only right comparison between Roger and Rafa, the one done matching them in age, is favourable to Nadal. Rafa, with 22, has won 5 Grand Slams, while Roger only had 1. With 22 Rafa totally dominates on clay, is the best on grass and among the 3 best on hard court, while Federer, with 22, wasn't the best on any surface. Of course, we'll have to see what the future holds. Regards
thats right but i think he has to win all this tournemants now. his tennis is so grueling that he can't play it when he will be as old as roger now or older.
rafa never beat Fed at his peak but on a slump, what r u talking about idiot omenow? its been 3yrs that nadal was unable to beat Fed. lets see where rafa is when hes 27
snappycruise, Nadal is NUMBER ONE OF THE ATP. Next 18th the classification will be made public. You need to know more before writing about tennis. He is 22 and has gone over Federer that is at his peak, because when you turn 30 playing tennis your perfomance decreases. Nadal and Federer have played 18 official matches one against the other. Nadal won 12 and Federer 6. Hahahahaaaa. You've been humiliated by the facts, by the truth. Next time get some knowledge before writing rubbish, ignorant.
The facts you speak of (12-6) don't have anything to do with the task at hand. He is not going to outdo Federer in grand slams won. He's down by 7. Will he win 4 more Wimbledons and 4 more Roland Garros championships? It's far too early to say anything at age 22. These types of comparisons are all hype and often inaccurate. Federer at one point looked like he'd win 20 slams. We always come across more great young players ready to pick off the old champions. This just another one of those stages.
Nadal has a mountain of work to do before people will start saying he is a greater prime player than Sampras or Federer. He has never put together consistent dominance on hard court like Federer in '04-'06. If that era starts now for Nadal, then so be it. But it hasn't shown itself yet. He'd better stay #1 for at least 5 consecutive years like Pete did and Roger almost did, but somehow I seriously doubt that'll happen.
Do you really want to discuss this in a serious way or are you just trying to talk trash?
Federer had mono in the beginning of the year. You might wanna research how incredibly bad of a disease for an athlete that is. Furthermore, you should also take into account the surfaces that Federer and Nadal have played on against each other. Mainly clay! Nadal isn't known as "King of Clay" without a reason. But you got one thing right: Nadal is the current No.1 in the world.
jaysonordan, maybe you have to research a little more (or better). In most cases the weakness from mononucleosis lasts no more than 2 months. Was Roger an exception? hahahaaa. He would not have played if he was ill; it's obvious. He has recovered months ago. He was perfectly right in Wimbledon and lost because Nadal was better. Period. That is all. Don't make up excuses.
Hahahahaha, jaysonordan, Roger is a great champion, but Rafa is proving to be slightly better. Anyway, I'm sure that it's going to be tight between both (and we sall not forget about Novak). We will see what future holds. They have a great rivalry and both, apart from being top class, are gentlemen.
oh come on you think you´re good cuz jaysonordan doesnt know nothing
mono fucks you up for much more time that you said, mario ancic contracted mono and was 4 months out of the tour.
well lets supose there are no more than 2 months as you said, did you know that for a high performance athlete a week of non activity is equal to 1 month???
Hahahahaahaha. Roger recovered from mononucleosis long ago. Rafa is ATP's number one with a great difference (around 4.000 points). This are the facts. Let's see what happens in Roland Garros. I bet for Nadal. And you? By the way, I am great. Yes.
Hahahahaaa. I don't avoid anything. I'm just letting you know, son, that Nadal is world's number one in tennis. Federer comes after. Hahaha. Facts, amigo. Jajajajaaaaa
well considering fed has 13 slams it going to be 14 and nadal has 6 you cant really compare cause of the age but nadal has been # 1 fo a few months less than a year, federer was # 1 for about 4 years, and for nadal to ever compete with that record would have to be amazing not saying that he won't but i doupt, the way he plays he can't plan on playin like that for the next 5 years he already has knee problems and i reackon they wont last for more than 2 years. so no affence but thats just logic
It's curious that only after Rafa lost for the first time in R.Garros (after more than 30 wins) all the Fed fans started replying comments I made in Youtube months ago. You all were pretty quiet before than loss. Well, my logic is the following: Nadal, at his age, has won more than Fed at the same age, even tough Nadal competes with Roger, who is for sure 1 of the best in history. If both keep on with their winning rhythm, Rafa will win more than Roger ant the end of their careers.
In addition to what I've said in my previous comment, you seem to be sure that Nadal's knees will last no more than 2 years. Are you his doctor? He is pretty strong and takes care good care of himself. They will last healthy during his whole life. That is my forecast, which has the same validity as yours. Regards.
Hahahahaaa. I don't avoid anything. I'm just letting you know, son, that Nadal is world's number one in tennis. Federer comes after. Hahaha. Facts, amigo. Tu querido Roger tiene ante sí la oportunidad perfecta para ganer en R. Garros de una vez. Lo que dudo que veas jamás es a Feferer eliminando a Rafa de este Grand Slam. Sino, al tiempo. Nadal is simply the best tennis player of History at his age. It's stupid to compare on present time Rafa with Roger. The comparison must be between Rafa and Roger at the age of Rafael. Roger only had a Gran Slam by then and Nadal already has 5. And 30 trophies. Nobody has won more than Nadal at his age. If Nadal has proved to be better than Federer at his peak, think about what is going to happen when Nadal reaches his own peak. The Spaniard is at another level.
...except that Nadal's ability to dominate on hard court is and will be less than that of Federer's. Federer could bagel anyone in his prime. Nadal struggles a lot against Djokovic and often random people. He's never been to a semi of the US Open and never made the finals in Melbourne. I'd say he wins around 10 slams. He doesn't have potential to be a perennial US Open champion, simply because hard courts reward more winners versus the balls he likes to scramble around and smack so well.
Ledwix, you're mistaking the comparison. How was Federer on hard court when he was 22? Nadal is now number 1 of the ATP and the Masters. Did you know that? Nadal struggles with others? Man, you have to check the facts. Yesterday Nadal lost against Djokokic. It has been his first loss in 33 matches. He has won his last 5 trophies on a row. Against djokovic Nadal has won 9 of their 13 matches. Nadal is by far the best player of the year; therefore he is the one that less struggles against others.
Yes, I did know that. I know the facts. 32 consecutive wins. Not all of those were on hard. Federer was 22 in 2004...that was when he won 3 grand slams. Nadal doesn't have the potential to be a perennial hard court champ. Honestly, his game isn't suited for winning TMS Miami, Indian Wells, Cincinnati, Montreal, Aussie, US, etc. He struggles on hard court against Federer and Djoke. Please tell me how he is going to keep up with Murray and Djoke on hard courts and win more than 12 slams.
Ledwix, man, is it so difficult 2 understand? Nadal is 22. He's been improving since he became a Pro. Roger has stopped improving; Nadal just gets better and better. Federer at 22 did not dominate. He Improved with the years and then dominated. Nadal with 22 is much better than Roger at his age. yes, roger is an excellent player on court and of the court. a true gentleman in the game and life but every day new players are coming with different styles and strategies. competition is so much closer these days that even the best overall player can lose a game against the 2nd seed. this time it was wimbledon....rafans are the best in the world though.
Roger is pure class, Nadal is a hero, miracle man playing tennis, Roger is the player with more technique in the history, Nadal will be the player with more titles in the history of the game, and he will complete the Grand Slam. All this is true, the only truth.
i agree, rogerfederer best tennis player ever..there are some records witch are just unbelivable..240weeks without a break n1..17gshalfinals in a row..
You're probably right, but i'm just glad that there was a Rafa Nadal to stop Federer from winning every single title, ALL THE TIME!! Eventhough Rafa may never win as many title as Roger eventually (who knows), he(Rafa) has made Roger really work for some of his wins, and the FO is still a no-go for Fed. YAY RAFA!!!!!!!!!
how is tennis gay u fuckin ass hole u dont have a clue of what u are on about u idiot. im a big nadal fan and i think he will be no1 soon but i like roger federer aswell cos he is an amzing player and i admire him but nadal is the best for me :)
I'm huge federer fan, but Nadal is certainly getting better. After this year's wimbledon, I don't think anyone can say that Nadal is only good on clay. I hope federer can atleast save his U.S. open title. If federer loses his number #1, which I hope he doesn't, I think the deserving person he would lose it to should be nadal.
that last clip on this video where federer hit that shot against roddick was sick!!!! that epitomizes the rivalry between those 2... Roger killed Roddicks career, its really sad cause Andy was destined to rule at the top for years but Roger wasnt having it
The Greatest and most Athletic Tennis player ever, even though he can`t beat Nadal on clay, he dominates every other surface with ease, with his amazing stamina and endurance he actually increases is physical output in the 5th set, its right that he makes the list
Today Rafa won his first trophy at grass ( QUEENS, against Djokovick and after beating karlovic and roddick... I dont know if he is going to win at wimbledon, but take care that he is improving and he is going to be the next Nº1 tennis player of the world.
The guy who plays Nadal first is Goran Ivanisevic. One time Grand Slam champ of Wimbledon and slightly infamous for smashing so many racquets that he ran out of them and had to retire because of it.
You's smash your raquets too if you were him, he was such an underachiever and had to wait so long before he finally got his Wimbledon, just unlucky because he was the same era as so many greats. Rafa's the man though, Roger's all like 'Oh, this year I'm gonna beat him' 6-1 6-3 6-0 later, shut up mate go back to cuckooland you chocolate eating bastard and take your chubby girlfriend with ya.
Djokovic will not take Nadal place as Nbr 1 remember that Nadal have won against Djokovic at fast ground and Djokovic havent win against Nadal och clay
Nadal is the next Nbr 1 Federer whas good but now as alweys there have to be some one who takes your place its happend to every one sampras agassi the only one i know left tennis as nbr 1 is Björn Borg
I think Nadal will be the next no 1, but Federer is better than him in every surface, except clay of course, he's just getting slow and old perhaps. However, Djokovic will take away no 1 position to Rafa and stay there for a long time.

vinaykumar1603 3 years ago 5
by the way they play tennis they surpass borg and mcenroe but the borg and mcenroe rivalry surpasses federer and nadal because their personality and styles were so different. Therefore a little bit more interesting, federers and nadals personalities and styles are very similar to each other therefore not as much interesting as borg and mcenroe.
But thats my opinion other than that i agree with you.

its just that nadal pushes his body to the limit, so he can't possibly compete at what federer has been competing at all these years.
federer plays really loose, so he has been able to win these grand slams
im not saying nadal cant, im saying he needs to be amazingly fit for the next 5, 6 years to try to beat fed's records

He Improved with the years and then dominated. Nadal with 22 is much better than Roger at his age. If he maintains his progression he'll be the best in History; no one has been as good as him at his age. Nadal is much better on hard court now than a year ago. You have to see things in perspective.
omenow 3 years ago
It's not "so difficult 2 understand." I know what you're saying, man, but we can't make these assumptions that he will improve enough to win the US Open and Aussie Open multiple times. If he wants a shot at Sampras's record, he's going to have to improve a TON, still. I know his serve has gotten really great this year, and his backhand is now scary-good, but the "if he maintains" thing is too much of an assumption. It over-hypes things that are in the present; the perspective is too small.
Ledwix 3 years ago
And uh, Federer went 74--6 in 2004 with 11 singles titles, a year when he was 22 for the majority of the season. If that doesn't fall under the category of dominance, then nothing does. Nadal is 64-8 this year, and even that has seemed like total ownage. Bottom line is that we can't get ahead of ourselves.
Ledwix 3 years ago 2
Ledwix, of course that Federer dominated, I did not discuss that. Roger is incredibly good. What I'm saying is that the only right comparison between Roger and Rafa, the one done matching them in age, is favourable to Nadal. Rafa, with 22, has won 5 Grand Slams, while Roger only had 1. With 22 Rafa totally dominates on clay, is the best on grass and among the 3 best on hard court, while Federer, with 22, wasn't the best on any surface. Of course, we'll have to see what the future holds. Regards

thats right but i think he has to win all this tournemants now. his tennis is so grueling that he can't play it when he will be as old as roger now or older.

snappycruise 3 years ago 2
snappycruise, Nadal is NUMBER ONE OF THE ATP. Next time get some knowledge before writing rubbish, ignorant.
omenow 3 years ago
The facts you speak of (12-6) don't have anything to do with the task at hand. He is not going to outdo Federer in grand slams won. He's down by 7. Will he win 4 more Wimbledons and 4 more Roland Garros championships? It's far too early to say anything at age 22. These types of comparisons are all hype and often inaccurate. Federer at one point looked like he'd win 20 slams. We always come across more great young players ready to pick off the old champions. This just another one of those stages.
Ledwix 3 years ago
Nadal has a mountain of work to do before people will start saying he is a greater prime player than Sampras or Federer. He has never put together consistent dominance on hard court like Federer in '04-'06. If that era starts now for Nadal, then so be it. But it hasn't shown itself yet. He'd better stay #1 for at least 5 consecutive years like Pete did and Roger almost did, but somehow I seriously doubt that'll happen.
Ledwix 3 years ago 2
Do you really want to discuss this in a serious way or are you just trying to talk trash?
Federer had mono in the beginning of the year. You might wanna research how incredibly bad of a disease for an athlete that is. Furthermore, you should also take into account the surfaces that Federer and Nadal have played on against each other. Mainly clay! Nadal isn't known as "King of Clay" without a reason. But you got one thing right: Nadal is the current No.1 in the world.
jaysonordan 3 years ago
jaysonordan, maybe you have to research a little more (or better). Don't make up excuses.
omenow 3 years ago
my bad! I'll still find an excuse for my hero :P
jaysonordan 3 years ago
Hahahahaha, jaysonordan, Roger is a great champion, but Rafa is proving to be slightly better. Anyway, I'm sure that it's going to be tight between both (and we sall not forget about Novak). We will see what future holds. They have a great rivalry and both, apart from being top class, are gentlemen.
omenow 3 years ago
i think its just a matter of regaining his confidence in his shots now....cus he seems more defensive when he plays now
MesenkoHadow 3 years ago
oh come on you think you´re good cuz jaysonordan doesnt know nothing
mono fucks you up for much more time that you said, mario ancic contracted mono and was 4 months out of the tour.
well lets supose there are no more than 2 months as you said, did you know that for a high performance athlete a week of non activity is equal to 1 month???
aczzz01 2 years ago
Hahahahaahaha. Roger recovered from mononucleosis long ago. Rafa is ATP's number one with a great difference (around 4.000 points). This are the facts. Let's see what happens in Roland Garros. I bet for Nadal. And you? By the way, I am great. Yes.

well considering fed has 13 slams it going to be 14 and nadal has 6 you cant really compare cause of the age but nadal has been # 1 fo a few months less than a year, federer was # 1 for about 4 years, and for nadal to ever compete with that record would have to be amazing not saying that he won't but i doupt, the way he plays he can't plan on playin like that for the next 5 years he already has knee problems and i reackon they wont last for more than 2 years. so no affence but thats just logic
alexburrows14 2 years ago
It's curious that only after Rafa lost for the first time in R.Garros (after more than 30 wins) all the Fed fans started replying comments I made in Youtube months ago. You all were pretty quiet before than loss. Well, my logic is the following: Nadal, at his age, has won more than Fed at the same age, even tough Nadal competes with Roger, who is for sure 1 of the best in history. If both keep on with their winning rhythm, Rafa will win more than Roger ant the end of their careers.
omenow 2 years ago
In addition to what I've said in my previous comment, you seem to be sure that Nadal's knees will last no more than 2 years. Are you his doctor? He is pretty strong and takes care good care of himself. They will last healthy during his whole life. That is my forecast, which has the same validity as yours. Regards.

Rafa's Nº1
sTaNc1To 3 years ago
Nadal is simply the best tennis player of History at his age. It's stupid to compare on present time Rafa with Roger. The comparison must be between Rafa and Roger at the age of Rafael. Roger only had a Gran Slam by then and Nadal already has 5. And 30 trophies. Nobody has won more than Nadal at his age. If Nadal has proved to be better than Federer at his peak, think about what is going to happen when Nadal reaches his own peak. The Spaniard is at another level.
omenow 3 years ago
amen to the comment!
dannyboy194 3 years ago
...except that Nadal's ability to dominate on hard court is and will be less than that of Federer's.
Ledwix 3 years ago
Ledwix, you're mistaking the comparison. How was Federer on hard court when he was 22? Nadal is now number 1 of the ATP and the Masters. Did you know that? Nadal struggles with others? Man, you have to check the facts. Yesterday Nadal lost against Djokokic. It has been his first loss in 33 matches. He has won his last 5 trophies on a row. Against djokovic Nadal has won 9 of their 13 matches. Nadal is by far the best player of the year; therefore he is the one that less struggles against others.
omenow 3 years ago
Yes, I did know that. I know the facts. 32 consecutive wins. Not all of those were on hard. Federer was 22 in 2004...that was when he won 3 grand slams. Nadal doesn't have the potential to be a perennial hard court champ. Honestly, his game isn't suited for winning TMS Miami, Indian Wells, Cincinnati, Montreal, Aussie, US, etc. He struggles on hard court against Federer and Djoke. Please tell me how he is going to keep up with Murray and Djoke on hard courts and win more than 12 slams.

The guy who plays Nadal first is Goran Ivanisevic. One time Grand Slam champ of Wimbledon and slightly infamous for smashing so many racquets that he ran out of them and had to retire because of it.
MrCWL 3 years ago
You's smash your raquets too if you were him, he was such an underachiever and had to wait so long before he finally got his Wimbledon, just unlucky because he was the same era as so many greats. Rafa's the man though, Roger's all like 'Oh, this year I'm gonna beat him' 6-1 6-3 6-0 later, shut up mate go back to cuckooland you chocolate eating bastard and take your chubby girlfriend with ya.

I think Nadal will be the next no 1, but Federer is better than him in every surface, except clay of course, he's just getting slow and old perhaps. However, Djokovic will take away no 1 position to Rafa and stay there for a long time.
