Dan Monahan from Porky's was in The Night Flier,Miguel reminds me of Lance Henriksen,where he plays a great bad guy.The Haunting was good.I hated the remake.That Candyman film you have there looks like a film trailer that they put in the beginning of movies.

Have you ever wondered what Misery would have been like if it starred Jack Nicholson and Bette Midler instead?Those were the first choices for the roles.I know Bette doesn't like violent roles,but I think she would have been great in that role.

Very cool holographic cover on Misery. I've never seen that edition before. Lack of proper disc art on more recent dvd releases has me clenching my fist at dvd distribution companies. As for the rest of the films you discussed, I have yet to see them. Thanks for suggesting more films I have yet to see.

Ohhh! You got some good ones here. I love "Ils." The French original is so good, and I also didn't care for "The Strangers." "The Haunting" is still great, definitely better than the bells-and-whistles remake. The best films don't have a million-dollar budget behind them. Great vid. Stung in the butt, haha!

Cool, thanks for the shoutout man! What you have there is a trailer reel for Candyman. It was never shown, otherwise the seal would be broken. So if you had a 35mm projector, yes you could thread it and run it (it would be it's maiden voyage). Gino! Neither one of us has put any of those on ebay. Please send me a link. The Haunting...one of the greatest classic ghost stories ever produced! Mosquito was a pretty poor b movie but at least it made me laugh, especially the bite in the butt.lol

The Haunting! :D Love that movie! I read the book the movie was based on, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the movie. It really shows that the Haunting was not only a truly effective horror movie, but one of the best adaptations of a book ever!

That is just my personal opinion but if you liked The Strangers I think you will like Them / Ils. They are both based off the same story I believe.

Why Is Mosquito so expensive?

Because it's out of print meaning they no longer make the dvd and it's out of distribution and no stores sell it, so whenever that happens people on amazon or ebay usually jack up the price because it's out of print, I think it's ridiculous personally. It certainly is not worth that much money.

seen THEM , it was pretty good - , personally I thought THE STRANGERS was alot better , more creepier in my oppinion , with a better ending too , gotta say about THEM when we found out the age of the offenders , it made the movie less scary / creepy to me , yeah seen GUNNER HANSEN recently in THE REYKAVIC WHALE WATCHING BOAT MASSACRE ( it was called something like that ) , thought it was a bit of a let down too

Very fancy edition of Misery there. Kathy Bates' performance was nothing less than masterful. She is such an amazing actress.

Funny you mentioned French horror, I do in my last vid too, about The Horde. I will definitely watch Them. I LOVE French horror!!

Never heard of Mosquito. Looks like a late night TV film when there's nothing else on.

Night Flier was a bit of fun from memory. Stephen King screenplays can be hit and miss I think.

I loved The Haunting. Classic, atmospheric ghost movie. Actually came on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) the other day. Great stuff! The remake from 1999 was decent, but this one is way better.

I've seen parts of Night Flier and the part I remember the most is where Miguel Ferrer is taking pictures and seeing all the dead bodies at the Airport. I never seen Misery, but I have seen parts of it on the 100 Greatest Scariest Movies and Rob Reiner talks about how he did the whole sledgehammer with the foot scene. I also seen parts of Mosquito and I seen the car chase with the RV with the mosquitoes and I thought it was pretty decent and I also seen the part where he picks up the...

Great update mate, I haven't seen the original Haunting but have seen the 1999 version. The Night Flier is one I use to see on the shelf but never picked up as most reviews said it was just ok, I will have to see if I can find it and give it a go.

How do you hold your dvds? Do you keep them in their cases or do you have dvd books?

I am really into movies and collecting dvds, I like having them in my dvd book because If i take them anywhere i dont have a huge amont of cases. But I am afraid I am scratching the dvds when i pull them out to watch them.

Thanks, The Strangers was a big let down for me personally. I remember how excited I was by the trailers and seeing it and just really disappointed me.

I feel as though Them is vastly superior , and the ending was great for Them.

I just didn't feel the same tension from The Strangers as I did with Them and the ending really set the two apart for me.

I love the original Haunting!! It has that feeling like you are almost in the house with them! Dude, I love the Night Flier, too!! I don't think it gets enough credit and is kinda over-looked for some reason.

I actually haven't seen Broken yet. I think Midnight Meat Train was very well done and creepy, very underrated , I really liked the twist at the end and the creatures too. What were your thoughts on it?

It was the one you called the good ghost story. Cant remember the name. It is about a mother and her 2 children who are allergic to light then they find out at the end they are dead. Great movie. I would give it 7 out of 10 maybe 8.

I'd love to get a copy of Mosquito despite the generous 4 out of 10 rating... just for the fact that it's rare and OOP. Plus the death scenes you mentioned sound interesting.
