  • and this works fine with both ear buds working if you could give me an answer you would be helping out a lot

  • Thanks Man. This looks interesting, I'm gonna give it a try.

  • Maybe you shouldn't have jail broken it dick head

  • @jakoz346 Your right, apple sets their products up so their perfect.

  • I totally forgot I put up this video like 2 years ago, I have an IPhone now. Not my problem anymore lol. At least it has become a place for yall to help out each other!

  • wait... so I tried plugging in different headphones and the trouble is still there... that's the headphone jack problem on the itouch right? so will this help the problem?

  • What if you use just a regular one jack? Not a splitter?

  • Welcome to mono music though.

  • Fuck Apple! They told my mum to fix her lock button on her Green iPod Nano it would cost £30 I took it home and did it myself! £30 my

Ass! Haha! Thanks for the vid! I did the same!

  • $150 ARE APPLE FUCKIN NUTS? I GOTTA PAY FOR MY 3rd GEN £45 they must think im retarded

  • man thank you. definetly gonna try that

  • Mine problem and startin to piss me off its really weird if i plug in the earphones the sound is unclear but if i partly put the ear phones in they work but when i go to put the bastard in my pocket it comes out HELP ANYONE!!!

  • yeah spliter didnt work for me but i did find that if you put enough pressure on it it plays in bot ears so i taped a rubber band to the headphones and wrapred it around the ipod a few times then taped that and that worked but its kinda jank

  • @1141514y13152119 Totally did the same thing hahahaha

  • 180$ device 4$ ears. You need to learn my friend

  • 2011hellomynameis.... That's was great haha

  • Screw Apple.

I spent 200 bucks on an iPod touch and this happens in one God damn year?

They better fix it or I swear to God, they all will be joining Steve Jobs soon.

  • FUCK APPLE

  • @Killerbabyseal AGREED

  • Didn't work, still stopped sound coming out of one earphone yet i know theres nothing up with my earphones

  • this will not play STEREO, you basically have already lost, say the left side of the stereo sound, what that means is that you are only splitting the right side in two, resulting in a 3dB loss, and a MONO sound. this is not a FIX it's a PATCH.

  • @ShreddedStrings you beat me to it! haha, so expanding on that you will miss out on backing vocals, guitar solos and all the stereo spread you get through all the effects and depth of recording. This method could also cause some phasing! the only time you will get away with this is if you're already listening to mono recordings from the around the 60s and earlier!

  • It's funny because this doesn't work. At all.

My only suggestion is use two different headphones that are broken and plug 'em both into the jack and only listen to the side that works. This method is bullshit. This guy is a dumbass. Case closed.

  • all i see and hear is shit!!!! south park reference ftw

  • will any splitter work?

  • Most songs have different sounds coming out of each ear so using this method, you may only hear the "left" side of the song. Listen to some rise against or my chemical romance, you'll find out what im talking about

  • Can anyone confirm if this worked?

  • @D4rkAlastor didnt work

  • Holy Christ, SPEAK UP!!

  • Mi iPod touch doesn't play sound. Only with the headphones in how can I fix it ??? Thank you

  • Most headphones have two lines on the metal plug (usually black, white for iPod headphones) the adapter had three in the video. Does it have to have three to work?

  • I think you have just saved my life LOL my Ipod has been messing up for about a year!

  • Don't buy a splitter unless you know something is wrong with your HEADPHONES this will NOT fix ipod headphone jack trust me.

  • I liked this video but I'm still not site if I should buy this item or spend around $20 replacing the headphone jack!?!

  • Better made and have a stronger material but I'll try this method and see what works!

    @JrOsS696*

  • @jrosS996 I had the same problem all i did was reset the iPod and plug into iTunes and it fixed my problem I'm not entirely true what was going on but it's an easy fix, my iopd can't play both ear pieces but the headphones work the ear jack on my iPod is messed up after I barely dropped it Gay 8P but I also heard slipping a lil piece of paper in and than putting it in will work or get twizers and Carefully move the wiring back in place or get it sent to apple who clearly needed the iPods to be

  • Clearly with this many people having the exact same problem its a faulty piece of asian sh!t apple should cover the cost f@@kn j$ws

  • Where'd you get those second headphones I want them

  • does anyone know how to fix your headphones so both ear sounds the same? mine is like one is louder than the other. please and thank you

  • My iPod plays music w/o headphones just fine but when I plug them in they make a static sound what can I do?

  • i just wiggle the plug until both of them work and it works fine with occasional sound goin in and out

  • 151494 people have this problem, why doesnt apple do anything bout it

  • @MyReedsBroke Because a certain percentage of the population is dumb enough to buy this fucked up piece of designer shit in the first place based purely on image consciousness. Gay fags

  • @zahudum then why would you be watching this video? nigger

  • @MyReedsBroke probally wayyy more than that lol

  • @MyReedsBroke all headphones are not made sturdy enough ... companies just want the money and make it cheap so us buyers can keep buying headphones

  • will it play in stereo?

  • so i tried this and it works until you move the chord to the splitter...it does help but as long as you don't move the chord...just a warning

  • This is what you get when you let a bunch of chinks make all of your shit!

  • Wow! Thx man this is RROD of iPods! :P

  • FUcking worked holy shit

  • That is brilliant I never would that thought of that, thank you.

  • My iPod has a totally different problem, I get sound out of both sides of my headphones, but the iPods outside speaker also plays, as if my headphones aren't plugged in. Ever heard of this? I really need help, any answers are appreciated!!! :/

  • this is like the RROD of ipods

  • You're using a mono-adapter...that's not a fix. An iPod is made for music, you should listen in stereo.

  • @bluesy92 Agreed; this video isn't really a problem-solver.

  • @GerardWayJr I believe this was discussed awhile ago! It's a way to go around it!! Don't like it then go away for real.

  • @bluesy92 2. With high-quality headphones :-)

  • didn't work :( neither ear when I Use this tut

  • didn't work :(

  • does this work when playing stereo music?

  • This doesnt work on my iPod.

  • OMGGGGGGGG You are awesome!!!!! This worked for me!!! I already had a splitter so i tried right away...Thanks!!!

  • I have the same problem with my Ipod anyone know where i can buy that adapter??????

  • This is not a fix, but a temporary solution.

  • mine still wont work....only the left 1

  • @denonshinobix thx man, works for me to

  • Using that splitter is going to take a mono sound output and split it across two speakers, the end result is poor sound quality.

  • My audio jack dont work at all it's not the headphones either.

  • you kno i did the stupidest thing to fix my ipod...i blew air into the jack as hard as i could n it worked again i was like wtf! 0_o

  • i bout the splitter and it didnt work...

  • @shiji2 did u plug it in your headphones halfway? that works 4 me

  • @DemonShinobiX Thanks !! that work for me :D

  • Thanks man helped out :D

  • If ur headphones didnt work in it why does the splitter with the same end work? That is my question.

  • @onelazyday because only one side of the headphone input jack works, the splitter splits that ONE sound into TWO. That's the simplest way to put it.

  • @walimaster0131 how does that work? it is the prongs inside of the jack that is not making contact wwith the prongs on the actual plug. the way it seems what happened in your case is the splitter (which splits a stereo sound for two pairs of headphones) is somehow making contact with all three prongs inside. Using a Mono to stereo adapter should work better with less of that extra cable hanging out.

  • @walimaster0131 i have the same problom with my pc. i need to twist the jack until i get sound. how much is that splitter

  • @walimaster0131 but a lot of songs have layers that play one one speaker and not the other. I use one headphone a lot notice this on most songs so your missing layers and a lot of times it can be the vocals or with RATM almost all their songs have the bass and guitar on separate channels. I'm researching replacing the jack and so far I've read its not that hard, but I haven't found a tutorial yet. I got distracted by your video.

  • @walimaster0131 THIS IS THE SMARTEST FUCKING IDEA EVER! THANKS SO MUCH!!

  • @walimaster0131 so i have to put on earphone in each of the 2 slots in the splitter?

  • @BrawlAndMore One*

  • @walimaster0131 Exactly. So you lose one of the channels and are no longer hearing stereo. You're just hearing one of the channels duplicated to both buds.

  • @walimaster0131

but wouldn't that be taking the quality of the music out?

because music songs these days utilize the 2 sound function to create like a surround sound feel, but splitting 1 sound into 2 would just be duplicating w/e ever you hear in your left ear also in the right, thus losing the music in the original right ear, right?

  • Before you get the splitter thing try cleaning out the jack with a q tip because i did that and got a piece of dust out and now it works fine

  • hi,i have the same problem with my ipod where i can buy this adapter?

  • The reel fix is on portatronics, iPod Touch Headphone Jack Repair maybe you can make it work in another way for awhile (aluminium paper) but that is the proper way to solve it

  • like a dumbass i listened to this guy and went to a Wal-Mart and bought a headphone splitter.....it didnt work i tested every single possibility and still nothing.thanks to this asshole i still have the same problem, less gas in my car,and time wasted dont listen to pile of shit.your lucky i keep the receipt mother fucker

  • instead of using a splitter, can't you just buy a headphone jack adapter??

  • terrible quality video, but it works. I don't have a splurged though so I tried the paper trick (tin foil sounded kind of dangerous) and it works fine again for now.

  • Would this method work with skullcandy earbuds too?

  • @Asthroth57 this is a basic technology strategy, there is nothing fancy about this. Any kind of splitter will work with any kind of ear buds, headphones.

  • @Asthroth57 you have trouble with skull candy earbuds too? I'm on my second pair, both busted within a month

  • Bad quality

  • just put some tin foil from a pack of gum down into the jack... (just a small amount)

it will bridge the connection, and the headphones will be more secure to boot.

my headset has never sounded more clear, kinda glad it broke.

  • @sk84gs really?

  • @sk84gs Brilliant! Worked for my notebook jack which just started doing this when I dropped it on the earphone side. This is the cheapest fix of all. Some damn metal foil. LOL. Thanks for the help!!

  • works on my iphone 4 thanks man!!!!

  • can anyone help me out? my headphone input broke in half and part of it is stuck down in my ipod and i cant get it out

  • This really does work- thankyou

  • Guys, get the Griffin "Navigate"

  • This happend to mine awhile back, shelfed my Touch and went back to Classic but then that just died so back to touch hope this works!

  • everyone has to admit that apple products are fun but quality wise suck

  • @coolkidnhl I duno dude... I've had my first gen ipod for about 4 years now. I've taken it up snowboarding every season, every day i go. dropped it off the chairlift into the snow. dropped it off a deck at work and drop it every where. still works good except the input only works on one side now..... the first gen apple products were insanly durable...now they've gone to shit

  • I'm having this problem but I'm not going to listen to all my music in mono... -__•

  • you can buy the headphone jack on the internet for like 20 bucks including shipping

  • @steenvoortl just go into setting-music and enable mono audio

  • I just used a rubber band. Rig it so that the head phone plug is pulled towards the back of the ipod. Then wrap the rubber band tightly onto the top left hand corner.

  • that's lame man, cause there are many songs in which the l/r tracks differ and if you only listen to one track it kinda eliminates portions of the song, for example if the rhythm guitar is on the right and the lead guitar is on the left track. -_-

  • this happend to me and i had to get it fixed 5 times

  • I have this problem right now. I still have the warrenty so i hope it'll be fixed for free. Ill see

  • @zakyman123

Thnx so much it works and now my iPod works i have subscribed on my other channel

thexpking please sub to it as well and THNX so much again

  • With mine, I put a set of headphones that didn't come with the damn thing into the jack. And apparently, only apple headphones will go into it. Other cause it to break. Now headphones just pop out of my ipod.

  • so your just listening to the right channel out of both ears? fuck that

  • lol just dont jailbreak it

  • Fix!!!

May sound stupid but do it this works with out spending any money!!! This will NOT reduce any sound, mono sterio all that stuff it will be exactly how it was before and u can still listen loud speaker!!

Rip a TINY piece of paper off somewhere,

Fold it, make it about 1cm long but not thick at all, now place halve into the earphone jack and leave the other halve out, now get the earphones and plug them into the jack with the paper, if it is to thick the earphones will not go in so dont for

  • help when i plug my headphone sound not work and i can hear from speaker!

  • Ive only had my ipod classic for like 5 months and it only plays the right hand side of a headphone..

  • The only problem with this fix, is you lose stereo. If you use a combiner, it becomes mono.

  • Doesn't work

  • @JaimesProductions This is a hardware issue not software.

  • @JaimesProductions retard

  • nvm i just used the tin foil thing and it works perfectly just put a lil bit into a ball

  • would you be able to get stereo sound if you put the dj headphones in radther than the other headphone jack???

  • @icarlyisbetter no matter what you do with this method, you will some small quality int the music because of the adapter.

  • im just gonna take mine to the apple store

  • This didn't work for me but i did find another temporary fix. Take a small amount of tinfoil and stick it down the jack. It may be harder to put the headphones in but it helps a lot. Also the ipod built in speakers wont work but thats fine as they sucked before and i just use a jbl set. For a more pernament fix, ebay sells ipod jacks and you can repair it yourself AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

  • @TheGoodstuff69 the tin foil worked great!!!!!

  • it didnt work for me T_T fml

  • it didnt work for me T_T

  • Everyone this does work but the flaw is that you hear the same thing in both headphones. for example if you have a song that consists a bass guitar you won't hear it instead you will just here the guitar :( its a win lose situation. haha lol

  • My ipod doesnt have sound when i take off the headset please help me!

  • sweet!!! ima try it tonight

  • does it work with computer?

  • @hhhllkk88 I don't see why not. As long as either left or right side works.

  • that actually doesn't work.

  • I have the same problem where my earphones have to be in a certain place, to work, so I actually use tape and rubber bands to be able to keep them in that spot, but I'm not sure if this worsens the problem in the long run and p.s. Hockey tape works the best and u can still use the screen as long as it's fairly smooth, but does anyone no if my warranty with apple covers this? My screen is cracked too fRon being dropped, do u think they will try to blame it on that?

  • that just gives you dual mono, not stereo which can have phase issues and shit

  • the itouch jack is pushed in too far. thats the problem

  • I have to move the plug just right to hear it and if i move it one mutes or both stop playin what can i do any suggestions?

  • My itoch 2g has sAme problem it plays out the left bud and not the right unless i press down on the corner were tge earjack is located and i had the same problem on my ipod video 32gig

  • Dude I really wish this was the solution for my ipod :( it doesn't work.....I have some splitters and I tried afew days ago....but I'm glad this worked for you because I'm about to lose my mind with only one ear for my ipod0__0 XD

  • Hey guys my iPod use to play from the left but now it doesn't even recognize the headphones at all this happened just 10 mins ago I bent the end of the head phone a little so the sound could improve ( I did this alot ) and nor I can't hear it at all)

  • Hi! Great vid by the way! I have a 2nd gen iPod touch and I cant get any sound from my headphones at all unless I wiggle it or hold it in a certain position which is annoying! Will an adapter really work??

  • @genius2159 I am not sure with that situation, but try it.

  • @genius2159 i get the same exact problem, the only way i get decent sound is by holding it in a certain possition

  • @genius2159 agh i have the same stupid problem have u found a solution though ?

  • @genius2159 hey the same thing happend to me did this video work for you ?

  • Mine plays both sides, but the right sound sounds weird when i move

  • @walimaster0131 hey, for my audio jack i can hear music perfectly from the right earphone and the left one no music comes out at all so if i get a splitter i will hear music in both headphones again :O :)?

  • @shippuden905 The way I see it, it should

  • @shippuden905 hey there.

I have exactly the same problem. I bought a headphone splitter and unfortunately it doesnt mend the problem. An apple expert did pull out a load of fluff from my jack, thinking that would help, but its still not working. :( x

  • I have the same problem to but with me i have an i-pod video that was made in 2005. i messed it up i think by having it in my jean pocket with the head phones still attached to it and i run around a lot and it mussed of messed up the jack inside but when i hear music and hold the headphone down the slot it works but i have to keep it like that. so im guessing something is just loose and i would like to get it fixed asap it might be really simple but im not sure on how to fix it can anyone help?

  • I have a headphone splitter and, yeah, it doesn't work.

  • Comment removed

  • I have a real repair. This "repair" is only a kludge. (As is the other video where you open the unit and reset the headset jack then reinsert the little screw holding it down). The fix I found it to reheat the 4 little headset jack solder pads. My guess is there are hairline cracks (Which is what the two kludges work around). Simply reheat these 4 pads with a solder iron. Do not over heat. Just enough to melt the top layer a bit.

  • Comment removed

  • hmm ang on! surely this means your just gonna hear all your music in mono?

  • genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • but you didnt seem to have a problem with your ipod to begin with.. both sides worked. my problem is with the ipods headphone jack, its like messed up, if u move the cord of the headphones around it works if u keep it that way, or else hold the cable inside the jack...

if you are walking with them in the pocket it keeps working and not working...

i dont think this will work for me...

  • @cmtriplecageipod mine is doing the same thing

  • this doesn't fix it..

  • Thanks, I am going to go and buy the headphone splitter tomorrow. After reviewing the comments, I don't see how it would not work for me. An independent repair man wanted to charge me a cheap $75 to replace the jack, hahahaha. NO DEAL :)

  • OMG !!GRR !!! so now i have to buy a new home button cable but idk where too buy one from and apple wants to fix it for 200 bucks and thats almost how much i bought it from them! what the face and now i got t buy a splitter which is another 150 bucks ahhh

    i hate apple !!!! -_-

  • @stanbarley splitters are less than $10 online and in stores!

  • @stanbarley You need to check out ebay. I repair Ipods and that is where I go to get parts.

  • will this work for the 3rd generation ipod touch

  • ILOVEYOU.

  • Yeah I have the same problem :(
