I have a question- my hair is natural. When i wash it, my hair has waxy residue. I use shampoo an it siezes up an dreds up. I've tried to condition first then shampoo. It dreads up! Then I try to detangle. An im barely combing my hair (or washing) an lumps of hair comes out. So I braid the tangled hair an do the same process all over. Any suggestions? Can I use curl activator to comb my hair?

thanks for posting! great styles! i'm curious how often u wear braids versus protective styles & wearing your hair down. i have bad breakage around my edges & split ends & have armpit length. i wear braids w/ no synthetic hair for ~1 month @ a time & wash 1x a month w/ natural poo. i usually let my hair rest 1-7 days before re-braiding. i'm curious if some of my breakage is do 2 braids, which i have worn almost every month for many, many years. any thoughts?

I think it's safe to say that you have the most beautiful hair I've ever seen in my life! I want my hair to be your length! I just started really taking care of my hair, seeing as I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural. @msjiggly2u try staying out of your hair for two months or so using a style like goddess braids with extensions and put the excess in a crown or bun style or do individual braids with enough length past your hair that you can create different styles. treat those ends very gently. This was my problem growout stage length years ago as well. Be patient. Hide your hair from yourself, your collars and hairdressers if any and before you know it, it will be curling @ your shoulders. best wishes

WOW. Kudos. I have a head of thick and course (4 c,d,e or maybe its a 5 ) armpit length hair that i am keeping in braids because its way too much to handle for me. My hairdresser loves it and so do i when she does it for me. i know how much love and care and product goes into alllllll your hair. Love seeing it. Keep up the fantastic work. you are beautiful. my hair is to my tailbone. but yours is thicker. do you ever have any issues with shedding from time to time? i stopped dying and relaxing my hair about 6 years ago. it grew faster when i did. im blk hispanic mixed so its easy to maintain, but sometimes i go through big sheds. i just turned 36 and age may be it. if you shed more than norm sometimes, what do you do? they need to put you in some black tv/mag/book/ ads. you have that powerful blk woman look!beautiful! @indibabs122275 for the shedding try a black tea rinse. After shampooing, rinse your hair with the tea. You are to steep 8-10 tea bags and let cool overnight... Good luck!

Just with a flat iron, no hot comb? I only use a hot comb on my hair and a curling iron once in while.
